NvrenufRR
I dont understand, why do they have this little chrome lever on the right side and what is it used for? When are you supposed to engage it and what does it do?
MontefeltroPro
I dont understand, why do they have this little chrome lever on the right side and what is it used for? When are you supposed to engage it and what does it do? Excuse me, but what are you talking about? What model firearm do you have? That might help us a lot to know that if we are going to try to assist you. Your post is just a little too "off the grid." We need more info than what you have given us. Think it through and re-post. Give us some info abut your firearm. Exactly WHAT are you talking about?
NvrenufRR
I have a M3 and a M4, Both have a small chrome lever/button with a little red dot on them on the right bottom side of the receiver just in front of the trigger guard, I have always wondered what it was for. I press before I am going to fire all the rounds in the mag carrier, I have always wondered why this was needed before the gun will fire Edited May 23, 2009 by NvrenufRR spelling
tucker301
When there is a shell in the magazine, pressing the lever releases that shell onto the carrier so that it may be chambered when the gun is fired or the action is cycled by hand. When there are not shells in the magazine, the user can depress the lever and then open the bolt, at which time the bolt will remain opened. There are a number of uses for these functions at the range and afield.

So, would I be correct in assuming that if I took the 8+1+1 increased capacity, I would not have to depress this leverand the gun would cycle properly through all the rounds? tucker301
if you're talking about floating a round on the carrier, then the answer is yes, it will cycle properly*. * - Must be an older Benelli or a modified newer one to allow properly float one. GENELEO
m4 - Absolutely. I've never shot an m3. I've tried repeatedly on my M-3, and could never get it to work.
