Peppergun Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Does anyone know what exact large capacity mag these take? I have a 30 rd Pmag and it doesn't fit right. I have read these rifles are a pain when it comes to mags. Quote
xnology Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I have used Tapco & cheapie Thermold brands without problem. I buy Thermold 30 rounders from my local Sportsman's Warehouse for $7.99 plus tax, 20 rnds for $4.99 plus tax. Quote
edleary1227 Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) I've tried many different 'cheapie' plastic mags, even Tapco and Magpul ... they all seem to hang up on a drop release requiring me to use my off hand to pull it out and insert a new mag. Good quality metal ones just drop allowing you to jam a fresh mag in quickly with no additional motion. Edited February 24, 2011 by edleary1227 Quote
Hboy Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 try the emag. it fits fine, although I don't find the pmag to tight for my uses. Quote
Russell1 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I'm using the AR-STONER mags in my MR1, they are working well in my gun. Quote
Quaid Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Also, when going to a range, how many mags would ya bring with ya to have sufficient fun? I just got the MR1 and it's my first. Quote
axhoaxho Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I use the NHMTG AR15 magazines, they work and fit very well on my MR1. I also tried a few of the D&H AR15 magazines (with Magpul follower) on my MR1. All of these magazines fed well, except that they failed to hold the bolt back when the magazine was empty. I am not sure if it is unique to my particular rifle, just want to share my personal experience. With best regards, Quote
