What is the stock M4 choke? I have a carlsons IC choke...

Hey guys. I'm curious which choke i should use for 00 buck? I have a carlsons improved cylinder choke and of course the stock m4.

Can you shoot slugs through either of these chokes?

I plan to shoot 00 buck, slug and some target loads within 30 yards.

The Benelli M4 comes with a M (modified) choke with three dots.  I chose a cylinder choke to be able to run slugs safely.  Repeatable hits at 50 yards all day long (or as long as my shoulder would allow).

This question comes up a lot. As said above the M4 comes from factory with a modified choke of course that's safe for all buckshot, bird, etc. However Benelli does not recommend shooting slugs through any choke tighter than an IC.

So, I bought a “cylinder” choke as I read it’s for slugs and I bought a “full” for 00 buck. Is this correct? I also have the factory modified as well as the Carlson improved cylinder breecher choke.

If you’re not shooting too far, the cylinder works fine for decent buckshot, too.  I just leave mine in.
