AIRB0RNE6176 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 The most current pics of this M3 SBS project: For those curious, it runs & shoots just as well as it's full-sized brother but has a bit more "kick" to it. Planning Vang Comp barrel work and loading port opening next... 1 1 Quote
jeremyorr Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 Quick question about the m3 cut and crown. Thinking of doing it to my m3 as well. Did you go to the 14.5” length mentioned on the Benelli LE model website. Secondly what front sight did you use? That almost looks like a Vang Comp front sight? I was wondering if I could just sweat off the old front sight and reuse but I am guessing that may throw of the pattern due to the height / barrel difference? To me it looks like if you could source an m4 front sight for the entry model it would work as well. I have cut and crowned my own barrels before so thinking I could diy (after nfa paperwork). Thinking you could just cleaning up and solder in a new front sight as well. Any insight would be appreciated. 1 Quote

Rose Action Sports cut the barrel down to 14" exactly for a perfect fit with the mag tube end cap (no threads on this particular barrel). 14.5" would have extended a bit past, as I wanted everything flush for tight quarters w/ stock fully collapsed. Very nice cut & crowning work by RAS might I add... We tried to heat up the original front sight to "un-solder" it for re-use, but that was a no-go. At the time, no Vang-Comp sights were in stock/on hand, so we went with a LPA front sight w/ tritium insert from Fusion Firearms: https://fusionfirearms.com/lpa-front-shotgun-sight-low-solder-on-tritium Since the sight is "adjustable", co-witness with original rear sight was no problem. Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Semper Fi! 1 Quote

Digging into this a bit it seems my surprising hurdle is going to be sourcing a shorter mag tube ext. I have the LE model so it came with the extended mag tube instead of the short tube on some of the non LE models. Looking around it seems not to be available to purchase (plenty of the extended tube options). May have to put out some wtb ads, surely someone took off their short one for the extended and would be willing to sell it. Quote

I was able to track down a completely new M3 (# 11606) that was just a 5+1 model that already had the short magazine tube cap, so no part number on hand at the moment. Contact Benelli CS and ask for the standard mag tube cap for an 11606 M3 (5+1 model). Mr. Carter Miller is the Benelli CS rep we use when it comes to Benelli parts questions, but he's tough to track down at times. Good Luck! Edited January 31, 2025 by AIRB0RNE6176 Quote

Solid folks to do business with, and one of the few shops I know that can cut a chrome-lined barrel without flaking the chrome. Edited February 1, 2025 by Ed Zoutes words & stuff 2 Quote

KiloEcho6 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 For those of you who have the more modern M3 with a collapsible stock, can u simply pull a pin and remove the stock a tube, leaving behind just the pistol grip as seen on Benelli Defenses website on their breacher M3 model? Quote
