CEBEP
I have just received Toni System forend designed for M4 which I was planning to install on my M4 T Pro ro reduce it’s weight. But I noticed that I can’t install it as there is a part of the forend that interferes with this spring in the pictures. I noticed there is no such spring on M4 but it is on my M4 T Pro. If I remove it the forend installs flawlessly. My question is what this spring is for and is it ok to remove it, thinking if it would affect shotgun operation in any way? Steve Rose
I remember this question on that part coming up a few years ago when the spring first appeared. According to a Benelli rep the spring is being installed to stop gas piston or factory forearm rattle but does not affect function if removed. Factory forend is all aluminum and pistons could very well be hitting it as tolerances are tight. Very nice, so I can remove it using new forend. Thanks! CEBEP
I’ve just received email confirmation from Benelli Italy tech support confirming that this plate may be removed if used with original M4 polymer forend but must be used if used with T Pro aluminum one.
