NoTox
No answer on the waterfowling boards, so I will try here. Two questions for the duck hunters. First is steel shot. Has anyone used the Kent Fasteel shells? If so, how did they perform in comparison to something like Winchester Dryloks? Second, has anyone used the Blackwater FUD decoys? These look like they would be great as far as carrying in to walk in areas, but I can't quite bring myself to buy them without a second opinion. Anyway, all suggestions/comments are appreciated. rdn
For a high velocity steel load we have been using Fiocchi 3 inch, number 2 shot , 1450 (or so) fps, for a couple years now and really like them. A big bonus is they are the least expensive steel load in our area, especially if you buy a case of them.
Drundel
notox: http://shotshell.drundel.com/patterns/ Plenty of kent faststeel on there. I haven't used the fuds but a buddy has, he said they are awesome in a light wind, look very real.
shell waster
Kent Faststeel is pretty darn good stuff for the price. I would use it over Drylocks any day. My shell bag has 3 kinds of shells in it. 3.5" Kent faststeel, 3.5" Federal Heavy High velocity and Kent 3" Tungsten Matrix. I mainly use Kent Fasteel. Never used FUD the decoys. Good luck this fall. NoTox
I appreciate the info guys. It looks like I will be trying out the Kent shells this year. And probably the FUDs also.
SPRIGS
Think you'll like the Faststeel. I switched over last year and am very pleased. A quality shell at a very reasonable price.
