Was your duck season better or worse than last year?

There is only one way to eat any duck, cut thin in strips and flash friedwith salt,pepper and breaded batter., don't over cook. A close second is deep fried thin.

Need help, my SBE won't eject 3.5 kent fasteel. I think the gun jams in the following manner. You shoot, the empty casing is being extracted, but the extractor slips off the bottom of the brass lip of the shell, the bolt keeps travelling back forcing the Carrier to pick up the next round, hence jamming the gun because an empty shell is in the action and the next round is trying to get in. It does not do it with every round of fast steel, but it is at least 20-30%. I bought some cheap 3.5 Xpert HV, 25 rounds without a hick-up. Is anyone else having this problem or has a solution. I have used fast steel before with no problems, now I have 4 boxes sitting on the shelf because I have no confidence with the stuff. No prblems with 3 inch shells. The action cycles all the way with the fast steel. Pleas advise.

Terror .675 or any extra full turkey (does not matter who makes). P. Master is mainly for steel. Up here we have to use no-tox so the Terror .675 has patterned the best for me.

You won't be disappointed with the SBE. Besides the gun fitting very well for me, I like how easy it is to clean.

I have the limb saver as well, I would say it reduces recoil about 20-to maybe 30% on lighter loads. I have only read negative things about the mercury reducer. The pad took less than five minutes to install.

Kent Faststeel is pretty darn good stuff for the price. I would use it over Drylocks any day. My shell bag has 3 kinds of shells in it. 3.5" Kent faststeel, 3.5" Federal Heavy High velocity and Kent 3" Tungsten Matrix. I mainly use Kent Fasteel. Never used FUD the decoys. Good luck this fall.

My boss is on a Stone sheep hunt in BC right now and he has done many goat hunts, I will let you know when he gets back. Thanks for the info Pokey, we kinda thought as much, I have .300 Win Mag Bar and the recoil is very mild for that caliber.

Man o' man, either these guns are getting damaged in shipping, or the quality control department needs eye exams all around. The safeties, now this, hmmmm, maybe they are making them a little too quickly to fill the high demand, just a thought. I don't wear neoprene, I wear the ice-buster by Cabela's, we hunt some real rat holes and flood cedar swamps that have been cut, neoprene can't take it. My wife wears the Amorflex by Cabela's, pretty tough and not a bad price. She does not go into the cedar swamps.

Shopping around right now, everyone wants around $1000, seems a tad high.

Agreed, their e-mail response is needs significant improvement, there was a huge thread awhile back about that issue. You will be happy with your Benelli. I can't count the number of times that I am banging away and the guy beside is jammed and can't shoot. To me the reliability of a firearm is priceless.

Laz, do you think Benelli's fix to the safety was adequate or lax?

Birddog, hopefully I can e-mail some pictures of the elk, even better draw a tag and get one. I have toyed with selling that piece of property but the dream of shooting an elk on my own property has stopped me. Thanks for camera advice.

Birddog, besides Bear I also get Elk on the property, in fact I usually see more Elk than deer during deer season. Saw three bulls opening day last year, one dandy 6x6. Elk licence 40000 applicants 250 tags and only 30% bull, pull a bull tag your done forever, pull a cow sit out 10 years, no preference system yet. I was wondering what digital camera you would recommend. My wife and I starting to look and we are going to buy both a digital camera and digital camcorder. We heard that the digital camcorder's only take soso snapshots. Thanks.

Nice, that's what we like to see. Went to my property and unfortunately found a bear den. Bears aren't bad but they are rough on food plots and spoke the deer. Pulling a bear tag isn't easy in MI.

I was talking to a loud mouth today at the local gunstore and he said he frequently takes and makes 55 yard shots on Canada geese. He said he uses Heavy shot #2 3". I actually laughed in his face, but I am wondering if anyone else has heard or can make such claims. I don't own a Legacy but assembling the SBE is tricky the first time. Tehy are similar. 1) I usally click the bolt hold button first, little side button in front of trigger with red dot, then open the action so that the bolt stays back, ie if the gun is assembled the action would be fixed open. 2) Remove the pin from the bolt, ie the thing you grab onto to work the action (bolt handle). This takes a lot of force the first couple of times. The first time I took a piece of leather put it around the bolt handle and used pliers to yank out. 3) If the stock is still on magazine tube take off and attach to bottom of barrel. Slide barrel down into place with stock going over magazine tube. Put cap back over end of magazine tube. Put pin back into bolt until it clicks. If my advice is off base, then take back to gun store and have them assemble. The above instructions are how I generally put my SBE togethter, removing pin on the SBE was the scary part.
