Gerrya
Got about 200 rounds through my M4 and noticed the reciever has some nicks in it on the edges where the shells eject? Anyone else notice this?
HDRDKG
I haven't shot my M4 until I can make sure that doesn't happen. However on my M1 S-90, the ejection port is all scared up from the ejected shells. Someone mentioned putting some black tape on the ejection area and it should help. 1moreGun
I was about to ask this same question. Thanks for doing so. Yes my new m2 does the same thing and i am just starting to notice it after about 200 rounds. I was worried that my shells were kicking out a little low and hitting the ejection port lip but from the other replies it looks most of them do this. AFPJ
I never really noticed until reading this thread.
Liberty or death Jr.
I saw that same thing on an old beretta, not any newer guns until I saw this. I wonder what causes it.
1moreGun
from the picture above, your shells are hitting the top edge. Mine is the same way but on the bottom edge of ejection port. makes me wonder if you can adjust it somehow to make 'em fly right out of the middle and not hit at all. Liberty or death Jr.
Make the hole bigger? I hope that doesn't happen to my gun.

I didn't take a pic of the lower lip because it is clean.
Gixerman1000
It’s no big deal really, my M4 11707 does the same thing, though it's not a problem with function and it's doesn't seem to be getting any worse.
