Teufel-hunden
I picked up my new M4 yesterday! And even better news is that I am now at ZERO illegal parts- yep, zero! Eat your hearts out you guys lusting after US made triggers/disconnectors/stocks etc. I am eagerly awaiting my SOCOMGUY tube so I can ASSEMBLE it on to the bear hammer. Wait a second... that means that I will actually have a NEGATIVE assembled imported parts count. Do you think the ATF will send me a Christmas card for going above and beyond the line of duty? You got it, I did not ASSEMBLE anything- my friendly neighborhood shotgun dealer handed it across the counter in one beautiful, completly ASSEMBLED, piece! § 178.39 Assembly of semiautomatic rifles or shotguns. (a) No person shall assemble a semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun using more than 10 of the imported parts listed in paragraph © of this section if the assembled firearm is prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes. Teufel-hunden
Nope, just demonstrating the that there is no need to worry about the Feds coming after you- maybe your local yocal 2nd amendment violaters- but not the ATF. I have discussed this exact topic at length with state law enforcement, federal law enforcement, and a federal judge. All friends or family so they gave me the straight skinny on it. And I ran it by my brother-in-law who is a litigator. He does not know much about gun laws but he and the others were of the general consensus that the ATF would be laughed out of the court room if it came to that. So where do you live 1014? Teufel-hunden
very funny- BUT READ THE LAW- it clearly states you cannot assemble a weapon out of PARTS..... no refference to full up weapons. Any half arsed lawyer could stomp on any M4 related charges UNLESS you are currently living in a lunitic lefty state facing state charges, then you might be up the crick. I am assuming from 1014s vague answer that he does indeed live in one of these communist, oops sorry, one these "socialist" states. All commrads hail supreme secetary general Hilliary! No F-Bdy Bs
OK, I'll bite- what pictures? I was being a smart-ass. There is some rule about getting something new, posting about it, but not including pics. Its in the Bible, somewhere towards the back, I think. Teufel-hunden
...... And Ahab saith to Icabod, "Asketh and you shall recieveth" Did not think you guys would be interested in seeing just another plain Jane M4, but if that is what you want I will sin no more! Of course my name is DEVIL dog......... Seriously though I was thinking about taking step-by-step installation pics of all the bells and whistles I have on order. It will be a good way to share the fun but more importantly it might help someone who is going to install the same or similar parts. I know, I know..... how can you improve on perfection? Well I am going to try. Listed below, in no particular order, are the parts (and some thoughts on them) that I have in hand or have on order for my new boom-stick (hurry up mail!). Surefire M600a LED 100 lumen scout light: I debated on this one for a bit- some reviewers said they did not think the range is adequate. I have not mounted the light yet but walking around the house playing with it I think it will do just fine. What sold me was the LED bulb, with it's built in durability and longer run time on a set of batteries, and of course the surefire quality. Surefire SR plug-in dual switch with rail: This item has a momentary on strip AND a constant on/off button. My thinking is there might be a situation where having the light stay on would be a handy feature to have, such as clearing a weak side corner or using my weak hand to move a limb out of the way while conducting ops in the brush. Brugger & Thomet Benelli M4 Super 90 and Remington 870 Rail Mount: This is least obtrusive rail mount I could find. It has two picatinny mounts located opposite one another. Let's see..... light, laser- what else are you going to hang off the front of a shotgun? For the life of me I can not figure out why you would want a monstrosity like the Surefire M80. What are trying to hang on your gun? A fold out picnic table?! And that piece and others would kill the sweet lines and handling of the M4. GG&G Benelli Tactical Charging Handle: I think everyone knows the value of that one. GG&G oversize bolt release pad: I read a couple of posts from operators that had trouble finding the somewhat small factory release button during the fog of war. This little jewel should alleviate that issue but it will be the trickiest part to install- unless the oversize safety release button is harder than I am estimating. Dave's Metal Works Oversized Safety Benelli Semi-Automatic Shotgun 12 Gauge Steel Matte: When Yogi and Boo Boo come running in this summer to steal my picnic lunch, I don't want to be fumbling with the safety button. Not sure this going to fit though. Mesa Tactical 6-shot SureShell Carrier and Rail (M4): Extra easy access bullets- 'nuff said. Push-button Sling Swivel (M4/M1014): The gun should ride a little better/be quicker to mount when slung using this closer to the receiver attachment point. TecLoader Shotgun Speedloader Kit Benelli M1, M3, M4, M1014 12 Gauge Polymer Black: mmmmmmm......... more quick loading ammo, ya can never have too many bullets! Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Application Sling: You don't expect me to walk around carrying this thing at port arms do ya?! Meprolight Sight Benelli M4 Ghost Ring: For night ops, a must have- unless you first nuke 'em till they glow and THEN shoot them in the dark. SOCOMguy Full Length Mag Tube: It's all about capacity. Not sure which hard case I am going to get though. I am looking at Pelican and a couple of the nicer aluminum models. Semper Fi

SgtCathy
I've made this comment before. In Taxachusetts, it's a crime just to have a picture of an M4, never mind the real thing. Catalogs sent here have to have selected pages ripped out. After veiwing this sight, I clear my history files from my computer..... Teufel-hunden
Good god Cathy! Run, don't walk, to the nearest gun/tax friendly state! Seriously though I do a fair amount of work in the Northeast and there is a definite downward spiral in the economy up there- I guess when everyone has either left or is bankrupt they will figure out that you can't tax the crap out of everything and expect to prosper.
