adamlau
Before you send it back, verify that your bolt rails, lugs and extractor are properly lubricated .
Guest GunCrazyD
clean and oil everything..use Break Free CLP....and use some more 3 inch rounds to beat it into submission a tad :-) if it still hangs up and jams then i'd call customer service to see what they can do..make sure there is oil in the chamber and on the shell latch too to see if it is feeding correctly.... slsail
"hey i just got an m2 field " Doesn't the manual say shoot some heavier loads first - after throughly cleaning the gun. here we go again. I might add it is a hunting gun designed to shoot heavier loads not 7/8 trap loads
johnnywitt
Trap loads ARE heavy loads. They are usually max dram and 1 1/4 oz shot. If your gun doesn't shoot trap loads out of the box something is wrong with the gun.
Novaking
100% of all trap shooters I know shoot 1 1/8 3 dram or less which I think is the recommended load for all benelli autos. novaking
slsail
From Your manual Dude "due to precision machine tolerances on your shotgun, some breaking-in period may be required before your new gun works perfectly with light target loads. If you experience any initial functioning problems, we recommended firing three or four boxes of standard hunting loads to allow for this break in period' Typical trap loads from Remington. Index No. Gauge Shell Length Powder Dr. Eq. Fiochii Hunting loads for 12 g are 3.1/4 to 3 3/4 at 1300 plus FPS So No! target loads are not the same as Game loads. What i have learned form Some good people on this site is the following: 1. Save your money 2. Buy a Benelli 3. Bring the gun home and throughly strip and clean it and use high quality Lube (militec is amazing) 4. Pump some heavy loads through it (100 rounds) Hard to do if you are impatient ant want to get to the range. 5. Enjoy a fine smooth functioning gun for a long time. When I broke in all my benellis I shot the heaviest game loads I could fine usually 100 rounds cleane Any reason you are using a field gun to shoot trap.? HOGWILD
any of these items apply? http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/troubleshooting.tpl if not, free call 1-800-264-4962 do not wait till hunting season or shot show it will take longer to turn your gun around during that time frame!
