I tried to bore a hole in one of the buttons on a Southbend lathe to tap it for a screw to set up a method of disabling the collapsible stock. That steel button was the hardest piece of steel I've ever encountered. Even trying to anneal it didn't do crap.
There's no screw on a the M1014. You probably saw somebody drill and tap the metal stock.
You just push the button and find the notch and turn it. It is so simple.
Drive out the pin.
Many newer M1014 models will need a three position tube to allow the stock body to collapse
It’s really all about the tube. If it has the position cuts, the stock body will collapse. The body has nothing to do with it.
