  1. Welcome bootster, Can you describe the type of jam your gun experiences with the rifled barrel? Is it failing to extract the spent shell? Is the spent shell partially extracted? Is the spent shell stuck or jammed in the eject port? Is the new shell failing to load and is still in the shell carrier? Is the new shell partially loaded into the chamber? Is the bolt closing on the new shell before it is lifted-up by the shell carrier? Regards threeshot
  2. Rick618, Which Benelli model are you using with the Hevi-Steel and which shot shell of the Hevi-Steel? Regards threeshot
  3. randymays, You can use the link below and call Benelli USA Customer Service. Be sure to have your gun's serial number ready when you call. http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/contact.tpl Regards threeshot
  4. remarkable, Does the procedures work for the SBEII? Of course the Gel Pad will be easier to remove than the butt plate. Regards threeshot
  5. bubba1, I have a SBEII and know your pain when using the Turkey loads. On top of my right middle finger would get bruised from the sharp recoil causing my hand to impact the back of the trigger guard. I overcame the problem by using a tighter grip so that my right hand has a very firm grasp of the stock when shooting the 3" or 3.5" Turkey loads. The inside of my middle finger near the webbing of my hand would rub a raw spot from the aggressive checking on the stock (I have the synthetic stock). Before shooting, I put a band-aid on with the pad in the place were my middle finger will rub raw. Regards threeshot
  6. Tim, You need to contact Benelli Customer Service. http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/contact.tpl I would call Customer Service. Be ready with your serial number. You will probably need to ship the gun back to Benelli if they decide to look at it. Regards threeshot
  7. I like to use M-Pro7 to clean (no smell) and FP-10 (scroll down to the bottom of the web page) for oiling the gun. Regards threeshot
  8. cdogg44, Tom Knapp of course recommends the Benelli oil that comes with the gun, but more importantly, he gives his reasons for avoiding certain oils in the thread super gets stuck . Regards threeshot
  9. RoyalWapiti, If I am not mistaken, Beretta owns Benelli. The downloadable or online manuals on the Benelli USA website were never online. Why? I have no idea. So Benelli did not remove the online manuals. So why have the website? To get customer feedback by lurking on the forums. The Customer Service of Benelli can be located at: http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/contact.tpl Regards threeshot

  11. Thanks for the replies. I guess it does not matter. Is anyone seeing the wear on the locking head pin like the one in picture from the post worn part ? I think this is normal wear. Thanks threeshot
  12. Hello birddog, Can you point me to some reference material describing the increase in speed for every 2" of barrel? The Remington link in my earier post says: Thanks threeshot
  13. BenelliGirl, Can you get an answer to the question regarding if it matters if the half line on the locking head pin is facing forward or rearward? Or is consistently facing the locking head pin forward or rearward when reassembling the bolt assembly after cleaning more important? Thank you, threeshot
  14. Efloyd, Please post your evaluation of Eezox. Let us know if you think it is better than CorrosionX. Thanks Threeshot
  15. Efloyd, http://www.eezox.com/ Regards threeshot
  16. Maybe it does not matter the half line on the locking head pin faces forward or rearward. Perhaps the key is consistency. On my SBEII, I have reassembled the half line facing forward on the locking head pin (I did not pay attention to the direction it was facing when I first disassembled the bolt assembly). My locking head pin is showing the same wear marks as shown in the picture in the following thread: worn part BenelliGirl, to answer Drundel's question, does it matter if the half line on the locking head pin is facing forward or rearward? Or is consistently facing the locking head pin forward or rearward when reassembling the bolt assembly after cleaning more important? Thank you, threeshot
  17. cdogg44, Step 2 on Page 18 of the SBEII manual for Shotgun Stripping has you removing the bolt handle. Another method to remove the bolt handle is to use old pair shoestrings. Wrap the shoestring once at the base of the bolt handle and pull straight out. Regards threeshot
  18. cdogg44, The two problems I ran into are the shim that touches the metal receiver had budged or bent upwards in the middle when the trigger guard was removed. This made reassembly a challenge. I took a very small screwdriver (later I used the spacer you use to check spark plug gap) and used it as if it was a shoehorn to put the trigger assembly back into place. The other issue was my fault for not noticing that the front of the trigger guard has a lip that attaches to the outside and on top of the receiver, and then you sort of hinge the back of the trigger guard downward into place. I ended up putting some minor scratches on the front of the trigger guard. However, after about 4 - 5 removals, I no longer have to shoehorn the trigger assembly back into place. Let's review your disassembly of the bolt: The bolt assembly has been removed from the gun. Step 8 in SBEII manual (page 20), you have removed the "firing pin retaining pin". ( This will cause the firing pin under pressure to come out with the spring. Be careful to keep your thumb on the firing pin. ) Step 9 in SBEII manual (page 20), you have removed the firing pin and the firing pin spring. Step 10 in SBEII manual (page 22), you have removed the "locking head pin" from the bolt. Step 11 in SBEII manual (page 22), is where you are having problems getting the "bolt locking head" to remove from the bolt. Should just come out. Does the bolt move freely about 1/2 inch? If not, I say you should send the bolt assembly to Benelli for repairs. You do not want the gun to start firing when you chamber a round in the chamber. Regards threeshot
  19. Raven, Go to your local gun store and try shouldering the 28" and the 26" in the gun model you are planning to purchase. I would quickly bring the gun to my shoulder and while swinging the gun to sight something on the wall or ceiling. In the end, I felt more confident with the 28" barrel. Most of clay shooters prefer the longer barrels 30" - 32" and longer than 32" due to the longer barrel provides a smoother swing of the gun. That is to say, the gun is not "whipy" when aiming. No gain in performance with the barrel length. Hopefully the link below to Remington website will answer your question. http://www.remington.com/support/shotgun/shotselect5.htm There is no answer to your question. It is strictly your preference. Regards threeshot

  21. Duck, I do not have that problem with my SBEII. I would contact Benelli Customer Service. Be ready to provide your serial number. Benelli USA 17603 Indian Head Hwy Accokeek, MD 20607 P: 301.283.6981 Regards threeshot
  22. I tried using the handle end of the choke wrench to tighten the choke. The problem for me is when the choke starts to recess into the barrel that I am unable to continue using the handle end of the choke wrench. Regards threeshot
  23. shotgun samuri, I purchased Retaining Ring Pliers at Sears to remove the magazine spring seal ring. It has two small holes in the seal ring that the retaining ring pliers can be used to squeeze the ring so you can remove it from the magazine. Be sure to wear eye protection while you perform this operation. There is a lot of spring tension behind the seal ring and if you are not very careful, you will have the seal ring, spring and the shot limiter plug flying in all directions. I once attempted to remove my magazine spring seal ring without eye protection (I had done this before) and was using the same procedure when the seal ring slipped past my thumb. I was fortunate that all the flying parts missing my face. Needless to say, I wear eye protection while removing or installing the magazine spring seal ring. Regards threeshot
  24. Oregon Elk Hunter, If the Black Eagle's you are going to purchase are what Benelli calls "slug guns", then you can only shoot upto a 3" shell in the slug gun models versus the shotgun models. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/slug.tpl Regards threeshot
  25. My guess is Benelli did not want to create a new choke tube wrench with the thread cleaner due to the existing one cannot reach all the threads on the SBEII and M2. I don't know if that's true for the SportII and Super Sport. So Benelli went with a cheap wrench which does not fit all the chokes. sbe II choke wrench problem? Sounds like the bean counters caused this change. Regards threeshot
