  1. Done-that was easy enough!
  2. Tucker, unfortunately for me I'm not that computer/internet literate-what's a PM?
  3. Earth to ace123-did you purchase one from B-C? How did it work?
  4. Thanks, I'll try that. If Jerry West was still playing, I'd still be a Laker fan!! Take care.
  5. Debris can enter the magazine tube when loading shells/hunting cornfields or cat-tails and hinder the operation. My other Benelli had a threaded magazine tube cover which could be unscrewed, the spring and follower removed, and then the tube could be swabbed out and reassembled. This gun, and maybe other models, seems to have a solid machined "end cap" with no threads to unscrew and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to perform this function-there must be a way but I can't figure it out. Take a look at your Supersport, Cordoba, SBE II or any of the newer models and see if yours is the same. Y our help is appreciated
  6. Yes it works-you can order one on their web-page.
  7. Dandy, they are made to be used either for clays or hunting or both. Dings and such come with the territory. It's a great hunting gun-light weight, tough, easy to clean, and holds a total of 5 shells with the plug out." Beware the man that uses 1 gun" as the saying goes. Good luck with it.

    CORDOBA

Thanks for your reply. I looked at pictures of both on the Benelli web-page and except for the receiver area being silver on the SS, they looked and spec'd the same. I have a friend with a SS and finally saw 2 of them on the rack at 2 different gun shops so I'll ask him to let me shoot it and see if I can tell any difference between the SS and my II. I still like a wood shotgun though-for looks if nothing else. Regards from Packer Country!

    CORDOBA

Excuse me-I meant to say I have a 30 inch Sport II model that I'm thinking of upgrading!

    CORDOBA

Sorry if I'm being repititive on this topic but what are the differences between the Supersport and Cordoba? Has anyone owned/shot both and how do they compare? Any special problems encountered. How is recoil with the comfortech system-do both come with the Crio choke system? I have a 30 inch Supersport which I like but am thinking of maybe upgrading to one of the above. I picked up a Supersport and it feels good, a thinner forearm grip and maybe lighter than the Supersport-the carbon-fiber cover is different looking but how it shoots and performs is the most important. Any comments will be appreciated-thanks.
  11. Yes, tight is good in my opinion. My main competition shotgun since I started shooting registered NSCA this year is a 12 SKB 685 and I almost always use LM in the under and IM in the over and just change shot when needed. I hardly ever use cylinder or skeet anymore. For trap I use the Benelli with full choke for handicap usually 22 yards and IM for 16 yard. When we hunt pheasants in SD, we start with IC then after getting a few flushes in the next county over, switch to M. I do use the Sport at competition now and then but have never seen anyone else using one. The Beretta Techneys and 391 are popular around here for semi's and a lot of Browning 525 o/u, as well as the expensive Krieghoffs, Kolars and such. Most of the Master shooters I've come to know and watch use tighter chokes and it makes sense with all the odd-ball angles and long shots that are set for registered shooting. We have our Wisconsin State shoot in a couple weeks and am practicing and hoping for the best. Thanks for your observations on the chokes.
  12. Mudhen, I checked last night and it was a Beretta Optima LM choke, not an Optima Plus. I have never miked the barrel-but will check in to that. From what you are saying, it sounds like the Beretta LM choke I bought is real close to a Benelli aftermarket LM choke which is good enough for me. Any other comments or words of advise? Thanks.
  13. Mudhen, can you refer me to your reference source on this? Also I did not know Benelli offered a Crio LM choke-order direct? I don't need a choke between skeet and IC but I did hit some pretty long targets-45/50 yards on 1 particular station and just crushed them with #8 reloads. Thanks much.
  14. I just bought one yesterday for my Sport II. It was a Beretta optima LM choke @$40-also Briley makes one for about $60. I shot a round of clays and it worked great.

Are you shooting a Benelli Cordoba model?

Did you take the plug out?
  17. Model-12. See the comments I just made on the shell catcher for SBE post. I won't be selling you the Sav-it catcher from Birchwood Casey but you can order one on-line from them. Maybe Gander or Scheels stocks these in their stores as well but I've never noticed one. Good luck-let me know how it works when you get it.
  18. See the e-mails on the shell catcher for the Supersport. The Sav-it shell catcher will work on the Sport II, not sure about the SBE though. I initially had problems but after sending an e-mail to Birchwood Casey CS, I received a phone call from a Mike Morgan of that Company yesterday who walked me through the installation-which is a bit tricky on my Benelli since the receiver has a "lip" on it from way it is designed and you have to compensate for it by building up the low spot so to speak with additional 2 sided tape. I used automative tape and cut it to size with a razor blade and pieced it together-then used a blow-dryer to further seal it. I shot 50 rounds of trap last night and it caught every spent hull and worked like a charm. Scored a 24 in the league round partially I think because I was able to concentrate on the targets and not worry about hulls flying at my team-mates or rubber bands in my field of vision. Good luck with whatever you use!
  19. Model-12, I tried the Catch-it last night and it did not work. The second shot I fired caused the spent hull to completely disengage the shell catcher from where I mounted it on the receiver and it ended up on the pavement next to the empty hull. I re-attached it a couple times with the same results. It doesn't seem the double sided tape has enough adhesion to secure the shell catcher in a stable position. I did clean the attachment point with rubbing alcohol per the instructions but the results were not as anticipated. Any comments on this compared to your exerience? Thanks.
  20. Model-12, I found out from T&S that their shell catcher is not compatable with the Sport II so I'll have to think about this and get back to you.
  21. Model-12. I know the area, my brother owns land on the River, I shoot clays at Little Creek now and then, and I'm a season ticket-holder at Lambeau. How do you like the M-2? I have a e-mail in to T&S to see if their shell-catcher will fit a Sport II Benelli and hope to hear today. I'll hold the Catch-it until I find out-send a note back just by clicking on the add reply option below. If it works out, I'll send you the Catch-it first to make sure it works for you. It cost me $17.50 plus shipping-would an even $15 be ok? If it does pan out, you can send me a check or cash to my house-I'll give you the address later-let me know. Thanks.
  22. Thanks fellow Badger, I'm from Appleton-you? So the shell-catcher becomes permanent-I don't think I want to use it if that's the case, the Sport II has a silver receiver and is too nice looking to hang attachments on it-at least for my tastes-do you want to buy the one I just got-it's still in the package it came in. I think I'll go the T&S route instead-I had one for my M1-90 and it worked pretty good. Thanks.
  23. Green grass and leaves on trees-I haven't seen that for 6 months! Nice turkey!
  24. Guy, just following up. I received the shell catcher over the week-end and have not taken it out of the packaging yet. It appears from the instruction sheet the self adhering tape is pretty much permanently attached to the receiver based on the comment that to remove it the gun needs to be soaked overnight in solution. I don't know that I want one of these hanging on my Sport II since they are such nice looking shotguns and I only shoot trap once a week-the rest is sporting clays including NSCA and field hunting. If all I did was trap, maybe no problem. What is your experience? You can get a catcher "made" for a Benelli by T/S Industries but you have to purchase an extra bolt handle and ship it to them so they can machine it so it passes over the shell-catcher, but at least you can remove the components-thanks for your comments!
  25. I ordered one today-thanks for the info!
