so when the M2 says it is 3+1 does that mean its plug length? or with no plugs at all. Ontario is 2+1 to hunt with, but I would like to know the total the M2 will hold.
-
3+1 can't be the plug length since if it were, it would still be too many to hunt with???
-
I wonder why those world class versions all have 4+1 mag cap. when the regular sbe2 and m2 have a 3+1 capacity?
-
wouldn't the barrel rust underneath?
-
you'd have to redesign the receiver all together, which is pretty much a new design from the bolt back.

the SBE1 and Nova and others are chrome lined, as well as beretta's. "The barrels of the first Benelli gun are manufactured at St.Etienne by Manufrance, using hot temperature forging. The bore undergoes a honing process and subsequently is chrome lined. The choke is made after chromium lining to avoid possible eccentricity or ovalization." or does having them crio'd mean they removed the chrome bore.

M1 Super 90 – M3 Super 90 M1 Super 90 and 121 M1 have the same characteristics, however M1 Super 90 has a receiver in light alloy, treated in an electrolytic bath with black anodic oxidation, the metal parts are made in polished steel while the 121 M1 parts are phosphatised. The new M1 shotgun can be fitted with a CL barrel of 47cms and reduced magazine, a CL barrel of 50cms with standard stock or “pistol grip”, Varichoke barrel (with rib) of 66 or 71 cms, standard stock or pistol grip. All the barrels have a 76mm magnum chamber. It has fixed front sight and transversally adjustable sight, a tubolar magazine capacity of 7 cartridges (6 cartridges of 76mm) plus one in the barrel. The stock and fore-end are made of Rilsan reinforced with fiber glass. This gun is suitable for heavy use in rough conditions, it is reliable in every weather condition and it is recommended for waterfowling hunting. M3 Super 90 model has a combined system, semi-automatic and pump-action, which offers the possibility of using the widest range of cartridges without jamming. An action selector on the fore-end allows the selection of the desired type of operation. The anodized or black varnished parts are available also in the Kromo version, plain chromium plated, more resistant to oxidation. M3 barrel can be 50cm long, without rib, or Varichoke of 66 cms, with rib and internal chokes. Both barrels are magnum and CL. M3T model differentiates for its folding stock, pistol grip; its length with the stock folded is of 78cms. It is equipped with 50cm long barrel and magnum chamber. The magazine contains 7 or 6 cartridges according to their length. The rear sight is transversally adjustable and the front-sight is fixed. M1 and M3 have the receiver drilled and tapped for easy scope mounting. [ 02-27-2005, 08:49 PM: Message edited by: crazyhair ]

I believe it is recommended not to fire less that 1&1/8 shot because it will not cycle anything less reliably. However most people find it will, but its a goose gun.

parkerizing is a really hard (oven-baked?) coating. The Benelli's are not done this way.
-
does anyone use CLP to oil a benelli? I know it says you can... but a product that cleans AND lubes always sounds like its trying to do to much at the same time. Always sounds too good to be true.
-
when you fire the barrel trap shooting and it heats up enough and the paint on the metal melts off....
-
Besides the chamber length, is the M2 the same gun, or is it similar, or are they nothing related.
-
$400 US for the chance to shoot a 3.5 is too much for me, how similar is the M2 to the SBE2, I thought they were the same in different chambers, but apperantly not.
-
lol guys, well I know the rusting issue is very true with the new remington 870's so I just figured it could be true with benelli since I could imagion how a matte finish could hold mositure that a blued gun wouldn't
-
so does the M2 have the same barrel break down? or is it not really that similar to the sbe2?
-
Porting isn't really proven to do much besides excessive volume. [ 02-24-2005, 10:51 AM: Message edited by: crazyhair ]

yes yes and yes? so its all fixed?
-
Cool, that seems to answer the question!
-
Just wondering if this was a bad batch or they've since corrected this problem or if it was even a problem at all? http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=36006&highlight=benelli+m2
-
is this the same with the M2?
-
Im in the same boat and I'm looking at the M2 to get the both of best worlds benelli, and comfortech.. the sbe2 is the same gun in 3.5 shell, and I don't need 3.5 shell, even for goose
-
I'm in the same boat as you rwc, I'm thinking the M2 is the way to go its basically the SBE2 without the 2.5 inch shell, which isn't really needed anywhere
