  1. My personal preference would be a black or chocolate female.
  2. The link was to point out that the M2/SBE spring can be different from the M1, depending on some serial numbers. I don't think Benelli makes light load kits. No indication of that on this site. I believe the "Mfr." information on Brownells simply indicates the make of gun for which the part is produced. It's more than likely SRM or Wolf.
  3. Lab is the breed you want, but you'll want it trained to stay within 35 yards or so when working in front of you. Pheasants rarely hold for pointers.
  4. Here's the post on out of spec shells. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showpost.php?p=35925&postcount=5
  5. Depends... http://www.surecycle.com/default.asp
  6. There have been problems with some. Sometimes it's shells made out of spec. Look through mudhen's posts to find information on that. Sometimes it's improper mounting of the gun by the shooter. Look through mudhen's posts to find.... I see a pattern developing here. Just look through previous posts. If you can't find the exact solution, you'll need to call CS, because all we can do is guess.
  7. At least some good comes of it . Flame away!
  8. I knew I should have stayed out of this one . Just telling it like it is. I don't use a lot of sugar. Didn't mean to offend you, but the answer stands.
  9. What is there to reply to? Why doesn't the M2 have a 3.5" chamber? Why doesn't it have the integrated receiver upper and barrel like the SBEII? Why isn't the M2 the same gun as the SBEII, only costing $300 less?
  10. These have been around for quite some time and they work well. http://www.mercuryrecoil.com/suppressors/index.htm#top
  11. It's all been covered here before. Read through the older posts regarding accuracy, reliability and trigger pull. As far as my hunting with an AR goes, that's a matter of personal choice for me. A lot of my deer hunting is done in front of dogs, where the deer are on the run. The AR makes sense for this unique set of circumstances. If I hunt a beanfield, I use a different rig. If I were hunting the open spaces of Wyoming or Colorado, I'd use a lighter weapon for easier carrying.

    choke tubes

Use Imp. Cylinder or Cylinder factory tubes, no tighter.
  13. This was posted in the a previous reply.
  14. Just to give a visual to what I'm saying, here's a picture from the 100 acre barley field that was flooded. Those are mallards, by the way. Again, ALL of the grain that was grown was left intact for no other reason than to attract waterfowl. As you can see, it worked, and it's great for the guys who pay $$$$ to shoot (no hunting involved) them. But what about the guys like you and me who are just down the road and trying to find a good spot on public lands and waters? Are we ever going to see these birds, or are they all going to wind up like this?
  15. And, yes. I have a 20 round clip and a 10 round clip. There is a ten round clip available for the R1. With that clip, I guess the R1 is now an assault rifle too.
  16. Again, out of those 20, most are labeled new, not used. Without going through each one again, I found only a handful of them to be used. Here's what you wrote originally: "Anyone considering buying a new Benelli R-1 rifle should check-out the large selection and great deals on used Benelli R-1's on www.gunsamerica.com site. They have them in every caliber and the site is over-flowing with used R-1 rifles. My R1 didn't have a muzzle brake. +++++++++++++++++++++ So, magazine capacity defines the weapon's intended use? That's intersting. So, if add a magazine extension to my SBEII and remove the plug, thus increasing its capacity to exceed the perceived norm of three or five, then I'm in posession of an assault weapon? But I was just going to go snow goose hunting. I guess that's considered assaulting snow geese . Fact is, I'm not picking on you, but I am using your words to make a point. Guns don't kill people anymore than Rosie's spoon made her fat as a cow. The media coins phrases like "assault weapon" and they generically call a lot of SKS clones AK-47's, and so on. They hype these issues and then the radicals and hippies jump on the bandwagon. The next thing you know, some clueless CA lawmakers are outlawing stuff that they don't even understand. AR's are used for hunting, target shooting, varmint hunting, and competitions. They are reliable, proven, accurate machines that, when left sitting in a corner or in a gun case, do not assault anyone or anything. THIS is an assault weapon.
  17. Never heard anymore from him. I'm assuming he was nailing on the roof and fell 25 ft. to his death.
  18. I was just counting the used R1's. I thought that's what we were talking about. No big deal either way. Yes, I have thoroughly enjoyed my AR. I don't agree with the term "assualt rifle". If I took a shot at you with a civil war musket, would that not also be an assault rifle? It was somewhat heavy. I'm getting prepared to turn the barrel to a lighter contour and add a comp. That will take about 1.5 lbs off the weight, make it better balanced, and reduced muzzle jump. I still own a Super Black Eagle II, so I guess that's why I'm still allowed to post here. I was surprised to see that you had sold your R1. I went back and looked through the archives and I saw some posts where you were delcaring 1/2" groups that beat your Remington 700. Yes, the AR shoots very well with Federal Fusions. Once I get the barrel work finished, I'll test it again, and I may begin handloading for it.
  19. I hear Argentina and New Zealand are good .
  20. Where did you get your rail?
  21. Check your receiver on the top side. I believe the Supernovas are drilled and tapped at the factory. If that's the case, your receiver will have four holes that will be plugged with hard rubber inserts. The inserts can be pushed out from the inside. According to the FAQ, the Novas use a 423M pattern base. The 423M is Weaver's number, but as long as you cross-reference that pattern, any matching base will work. If your receiver is not drilled and tapped, then you are free to do whatever you want, but it would be advisable to have done to match the 423M. That way, if you happen to sell or trade the gun, the future owner won't have to guess at it.

  23. I counted four used R1's, and I don't think every caliber is covered. .270WSM .300 Win Mag .308 Win .308 Win (barrel cut to 20")
  24. They do conserve habitat, but they're primarily about maintaining current habitat and managing the predators on the Canadian breeding grounds.
