Dumb would be going out and shooting saboted slugs without asking. Use only slugs designed for smoothbores. Federal Truball slugs would be a good starting point.

The definitive serial number for any firearm is the one on the receiver. Barrels can be purchased and changed without registration, but receivers must be registered. You need not fill out a warranty card in order for Benelli to honor your warranty. If it's in warranty by the serial number, then that's all they need. If you have a sales receipt, then that will suffice and the warranty begins on the date of the sale.

I think that may be a regional term? Around here, we call them Boo Shacks, because the guy who runs the company is nicknamed Boo . For what it cost me, I wouldn't dream of building it myself.

The Supernova Tactical does not come with choke tubes. The barrel is bored to Cylinder diameter. That is the choke. Owner's and parts manuals are available for download from the Italian website. http://www.benelli.it/index.asp?Lan=EN

There are three things that can affect the entry of the shell into the magazine, assuming the shell is not oversized. 1. As mentioned earlier, there is an ear or tab on one side of the carrier. As the carrier goes up, the tab slips into a slot on the bottom of the bolt. In some cases, the geometry can be off just enough that instead of the tab freely slipping into the slot, it hangs on one edge of the slot. This prevents the carrier from going all the way up and the shell seems to be going at the wrong angle. It will get about halfway or better and then get really jammed. Push the carrier upwards with your thumb, then while maintaining upward pressure, shift it from side to side. If it's hanging, it should pop into place with the side to side movement. 2. Not having the bolt fully closed and rotated will prevent loading. 3. The shell catch may be hanging the shell. The shell catch (too lazy to look up the exact term) is the little catch that keeps the shell in the magazine until it is ready to cycle. The manual shows the user releasing this catch by hand in order to manually unload the magazine, however most of us find this difficult and simply cycle the action, in conjunction with the magazine release on the trigger guard to unload the magazine. When you cycle the bolt on the empty gun, does the carrier flip up and down? Does the magazine release button on the trigger guard function properly? If so, the parts are working as they should, and proper assembly can be assumed to a point. Also see my SBEII quick cleaning guide.

Where or how is it sticking? On mine, when it was new, the ear on the carrier had some difficulty slipping into the slot on the bottom of the bolt. A slight tweak with some pliers fixed it right up.

This is what you get for opening your presents too soon! Make sure the gun is properly assembled and that the barrel is fully seated into the lower receiver. Pull the bolt back over halfway and let it go. If you try to ease it in, it will not fully rotate nor lockup all the way. This makes it nearly impossible to get the shells into the magazine, and the gun will not fire, although the trigger will release the hammer and make a very light dent on the primer.

We finally got a Home Depot in the area! 16" wire closet shelves make for some pretty good decoy storage.

Pretty little momma's boys need to soften up the recoil so it doesn't hurt their delicate flower-like shoulders Real MEN shoot Benellis. Naked. In freezing cold water up to our armpits. And we retrieve our own ducks. And we eat them raw. Feathers, feet, and all.

Sort of like going on a safari at the local zoo. These hunts are designed for people who have more money than they do brains, and their egos exceed all of the above.

You hit that mallard so hard you flattened out her bill! had similar experience the other day on farm-raised/escaped pheasants. My buddy asked me if steel 2's would knock 'em down. I told him they should. He nearly blew one in half at 15 yards He switched to lead 8's after that.

Son of a choke tube!

That's Improved Modified. Try the *** choke... Modified. It's a little bit tighter and should put more shot on target at 30-40 yards. * = Full ** = Improved Modified *** = Modified **** = Improved Cylinder ***** = Cylinder Click Here for a guide

Hmmm.... Not sure if it's legal, but...

Yes, it ships with a plug.

But just think of how little dirt would be needed to jam up a gun with those kinds of tolerances. Everything is as it should be. Go forth and shoot stuff, grasshopper!

The little bit of chrome showing is normal. I'm not quite following you on the gap question. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/large/m1FieldSynthetic20Ga.jpg
