I want you guys to take note of something else in that second picture I posted. Look at my insulated neoprene waders and then look at Leroy's uninsulated rubber waders. It was 21 degrees at 5AM when we started setting up, and we had ice around the edges of the area we were in. By sunrise, it had dropped down to about 15, and by 7:30 ice had engulfed all but a small area in the center of the spread. Leroy had a small Coleman heater in the blind, but he didn't run it but a few minutes to warm up his toes around 8 AM. I didn't get cold, but given the differences in equipment, I would have frozen in what he was wearing. [ 12-10-2006, 10:22 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Randy, Time for you to learn how to post pics. I've uploaded them for hosting, so all you have to do is to insert the code into your post. After this, you're going to need to learn to upload them as well. Get an account set up with Hunt101.com, or some other hosting services, and you'll be on your way to cyber independence! Link to first pic. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=456288&thecat=525 Link to second pic. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=456289&thecat=525 Post 'em up and let's hear something about the hunt. Tip: clciking on the smaller picture takes you to the larger version. [ 12-10-2006, 09:59 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

A couple of possible reasons: If the second phase of the rut is in, bucks may be camping out near heavy travel corridors, hoping to catch a second chance doe as she passes by. Some hunters say that the late rut is the best time to catch mature bucks with does, because they'll hang with an unbred doe for several days, waiting for her to come back in. Several bucks may do this and tolerate each other as their hormone levels are subsiding. They're more of a lover than a fighter at this point in the season. If the rut is over.... Crazy juice levels are back down to normal. In colder weather, deer will begin "yarding" into social groups. Does and yearlings will get together and bucks will get together into bachelor groups. Probably an instinctive throw back to the days of higher natural predation for strength in numbers. Other common factors that bring deer together can be pockets of cover that are less pressured by hunters and good late season food and water sources.

That fellow on my left is Leroy. He's 66 years old and has been hunting this spot since his Dad first took him there in 1959. Even though DU decided to dam the creek and block our access, we proved this morning that a motivated duck hunter has a can-do attitude and will find a way to get to the birds. We motored up to the dam, unloaded the boat, DRAGGED the boat up and around the dam, reloaded it, and motored up to our blind. I'd like to thank DU for their efforts in giving a us constant water level, allowing us to motor within feet of the blinds, and for making it difficult enough to keep all but the most inventive and hardy hunters out We got our limts by 11 AM and left them in peace. The cease-fire ends Monday AM

Three man limit of puddlers. A VERY good day! Gadwalls, Mallards, Blacks, Wigeons, & Woodies. Left 'em still swarming

I'm not aware of it evaporating off. Military uses it in the sandbox, so it should be fine for hot Fall days here.

Here's another one from Randy L. Sorry it took so long. I almost forgot about it.
-
Well, I never thought about it, but now that you mention it, there are some striking similarities with HOGWILD Great! Now I gotta sleep with both eyes opened

Wow! I even got one of these on a PM Steve, On the off chance that you find your way back to this thread, try asking the question in the Gun ID and Values section at ShotgunWorld.com.

Depends. What does lunfired mean?
-
C'mon guys. Help him out. I know I've seen them posted here before, but this tactical stuff is over my head

PM me for my PayPal account Glad to help, guys. Bookmark for when the next one asks. One note: The metal locking plate is not shown. I left it inside the stock. If yours pops out, simply put it back in per the manual's chart for proper cast. [ 12-07-2006, 01:58 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Clean all camo'd parts with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Clean and lube internals and non-camo'd parts with Breakfree CLP or Hoppes Elite. Throw Rem-oil in the trash or give it to someone you don't like.

No muzzle power is lost with the Inertia system. The system functions on the energy generated by the recoil of the firearm. All gasses generate by the explosion are used to propel the projectile. Recoil is a physical reaction to the projectile being expelled from the muzzle at a high velocity. Gas systems bleed off a small mount of the gasses generated by the explosion. These gasses are re-directed to drive a piston mechanism reward to cycle the action. The gasses are vented before the load exits the muzzle, so a small amount of energy is lost. Barrel porting uses the same principle to bleed off some of the energy in a direction other than straight away and to use that energy to reduce muzzle jump. The difference is neglible, but on paper or in a lab, the Inertia system delivers more energy from the muzzle. [ 12-07-2006, 12:03 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Why ruin a good thing? If wifezilla is going, I may as well stay home where it's dry and warm.
-
Why not just send them a PM?
-
You're not going to bump this every day are you?
-
Glad to help. If your family's looking for a nice gift for you for Christmas, I suggest this shirt.

TH, I believe mudhen likes the Rhino .660's with Winchester 3.5" XR's. Given the fact that he posts more gobbler kills every year than the rest of us combined, you'd be well-advised to give them a try as well.

duckfan, No need to remove the pad and all of that. You're on the right track with simply putting a drop of oil on the plunger from inside the receiver. I compress it slightly and let a drop fall in. Not a silly question at all. There's a lot silliness going on here, but you're not the one doing it. HOGWILD, Every time I try to read one of your posts my head hurts. I keep reading them thinking perhaps you have something to say. Alas, you do not. I don't use it often, but you've officially made the ignore list, and I'm VERY thankful there is one.

I'm guessing it's a tumor or a metal plate. Anyone else? HOGWILD, Don't answer yet. There may be a pool on this.
