  2. Why haven't you disassembled and cleaned the bolt yet? This takes about five minutes to do, and it's certainly overdue with 2500 rounds through it. Have you cleaned the recoil tube?
  3. Are yo saying the bolt stays hung open? Does it leave the new shell on the carrier, or does it lift the new shell and then jamb with the shell "stovepiped"?
  4. Yup. Hope you can find the little sucker!
  5. Greenwing Teal are my personal favorites.
  6. See page 4, items 016A & 018A. ftp://ftp.benelli.it/Public/UM_SPL/G0191801.PDF The pin slips into a bushing, which has a small D shaped spring on one end, with the | part of the D locking into a slot in the bushing as the circle part wraps around the bushing. This spring engages the groove cut in the pin when inserted.
  7. DPMS Panther Arms .308 Long Range. 24" bull barrel, free float handguard, 2 20 round clips. 3-9 X 40 Leupold on QR rings. I'm a southpaw, so I've got an ambidexterious safety and brass defelctor on the way. These babies are known for shooting sub 1/2 MOA groups pretty consistently, so I am hopeful. She's a bit heavy at 12 lbs., so I may do some tweaking to take the weight down a bit. Got a friend who has just recently opened a machine shop with all kinds of new toys, so it's no telling where this thing will end up by deer season I'm already thinking that I'd like to cut the barrel down by an inch or two in length, maybe trim her girth down by about .20 and give her a slight taper with flutes. A carbon fiber handguard will look nicer and feel warmer too.
  8. I don't know what your current relationship status is, but I think I may have happened upon your ultimate mate
  9. Here's what the funds from the sale of my R1 brought me yesterday. It weighs about twice what the R1 weighed, but I don't do a lot of long-range walking anyway, so that's no biggie. Mostly, I just wanted a more accurate and more durable semi-auto deer rifle. Nothing wrong with the R1. It just wasn't for me.
  10. My buddies aren't the sharpest tacks in the box
  11. I saw it as well. Many of the trick shots are not all that impressive, given the range at which they are performed. Hitting the tip of a cigarette at 20 ft. with a .22. So what. Emptying two revolvers into the same taget at the same time in less than a second. Yeah, that was pretty darned good. Also, shooting two different targets in two different sight pictures with two different revolvers simultaneously was a good one. Here's a trick I do when I'm out .22 plinking with my buddies. I've won a few bucks off it too. I can toss a 1/2" flat washer into the air and put four .22 rounds through the hole in the middle before it hits the ground.
  12. We watch them swim within feet of us and ignore them. They're usually so bunched up that you could get half that limit with one or two shots.

  14. You know that old saying, "You are what you eat"? It applies to coots too. Quoting Wikipedia - "These birds can dive for food but can also forage on land. They are omnivores, eating plant material, insects, fish, and other aquatic animals. Adults mostly consume "pond scum"."

  23. I checked the Wikipedia link, and I don't think we have any of these ducks around here
  24. I don't think you'll be able to take your own ammo down there. From what I hear, the outfitters will sell you the ammo and it will be what they want you to use.
