skidaho, Seems to me that you've asked a very valid question, considering the M4 is built for performance and reliability under fire, yet it uses the gas system, rather than the Inertia system. If the system is good enough for the Marines, then it should be good enough for a duck blind. As you know, Benelli makes gas operated, pump action, and Inertia driven guns; and I believe the only one here whose knowledge of Benellis would fall into question would be the fellow with "crazy" in his name. Quoting Benelli's webpage: Benelli engineers developed and patented a unique auto-regulating gas-operated (ARGO) system. Dual stainless steel, self-cleaning pistons located just ahead of the chamber operate directly against the proven rotating bolt head. It’s a simple and dependable system that eliminates the complex linkage, springs and heavy parts that other semi-automatic shotguns have to depend on. The result: Marine-tough reliability under the harshest environmental conditions. I'd only be guessing, but I suspect that the gas system is used to meet military specs. I could also see it being advangtageous in situations where the weapon may have to be fired in unconventional situations whereby an improperly mounted Inertia gun may be more subject to failure. Excellent question!

Gixerman1000, That's quite a diagnosis, considering the fact that he did a pretty good job of describing the problem michaelbret, Did you buy the gun direct from the manufacturer? No, so don't be so quick to send it to them. Let (or in some cases, make) the dealer do his part. The first thing you should is to make sure the weapon is assembled correctly, and that you are operating it correctly. Do this by reviewing the information in the owner's manual carefully, and then try proving the action again. You must operate the action of a pump briskly, don't be gentle with it. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction, and better yet, use dummy rounds. If, after those efforts, the weapon still appears to be malfunctioning, then take it back to the dealer and ask them to check it. Never transport a loaded weapon and always have the action opened when approaching the dealer.

franklin3, Position the scope for proper eye relief and try to get the rings as close to midway of the tube in each section as possible. I highly recommend lapping the rings for a good fit. You could switch to the Burris rings with inserts and forego lapping, plus eliminate the possibility of ring marks on that nice scope. Make sure that the crosshairs are leveled properly as canting can make proper tracking impossible to achieve.

Nova + SBEII stock and trigger guard = Supernova. The biggest advantage of the Supernova IMHO is the removable, replaceable stock. The stock and receiver on the standard Nova are one.

I don't have one. I was listing the calibers that were on sale, that I couldn't use. I like my 22-250 too much to consider anything else, except maybe a 22-250 AI.

I think that's the plan for a lot of the stores. I just checked my local Walmart, and they had some items marked down, but not anything I needed. 7 WSM, 9mm, 223 WSSM, and some 17 HMR.

I was kinda hoping that they were going to leave the bowl flooded, relocate the people, and make the whole city a preserve.

Word on other forums is that WallyWorlds all over the country are running ammo on closeouts now. Pistol, rifle, shotgun... lots of good deals.

DU has biologists?! I thought all they had were lobbyists and corn planters! Thanks for the post!

You're passwords are safe. With Engrish skills like that, you have to feel good about the answer.

Not likely. Shooting slugs through your smoothbore with IC choke will work fine.

I signed up on eHarmony.com, and these two came up as perfect matches

I called the tech handle for the site and left a message, but no reply. I guess he's busy trying to put the thing back together.

I wonder if that means that my username and password were also compromised?

Yes, they are the new designs. The camo models are supposed to be available in August.
-
From what I hear, the new BARs with the redesigned synthetic stock and forearm will be shipping in late Aug. to early Sept. By then, I may even decide that I need one of those too
-
Is it that time of year already? I'd like to see them in 6.8 SPC, .260, .243 WSM, 7mm WSM, and 22.250 AI.

We don't have anything that we call ringbills.
-
Around here, we call the lesser scaups ringnecks, so that puts you a little closer.

Most modern firearms are built for people of average height and build. If you are taller than 6' 2" or heavier than 25 lbs., you'll probably have issues with fitting. The best thng you can do is to take the gun to a gunsmith and have it fitted. This may involve cutting down the existing stock and adding an adjustable butt to it.

There you go. Glad he cleared it up.

Looks like they're having some server or hosting problems. Try again later.
