FINALLY got the barrel trimmed down a few inches, and received my ACE stock today. Now that the weapon is back together, I can get out there and do some shooting

Cutting down a comfortech stock...can it be done?

Sounds good. If you could bookmark this thread and then post pictures back when the work is done, it would a great reference resource for future instances when members ask this question. -
If I don't see some results pics posted here by Saturday AM I am going to be deeply disappointed.

I'm expecting a Christmas card from Chester-TN this year. I think he booted me because he couldn't function on a day-to-day basis due to the overwhelming love for me he felt in his heart Call Customer Service at 301-283-6981

No offense meant by the drive-by comment. It's just that sometimes folks pop in here and ask a question, then I guess they forget how they got here. Yes, $825 is a very good price for a Legacy. The weapon is very reliable, as the fundamental design is identical to the SBEII. You can view other Legacys for sale on gunsamerica.com and compare the condition and price to them. If I lived in TX, I'd ask you how to get to that pawn shop.

Ok, so it's a Legacy, AND you're not a drive-by. Now for the big question: What is the actual sale price? Because $500 under cost tells me nothing.

They may bother your shoulder, and hopefully, they'll really bother what you're shooting at.

The is chambered for 2-3/4", 3", and 3-1/2" shells. While any choke can be used with 3-1/2" shells, Benelli recommends using a choke no tighter than modified for steel shot.

Jd, This may be your best bet. http://www.blackicecoatings.com/Index.html

Looks like another drive-by.

No need for pictures. There's about 3/4" that could be taken off before it would get ugly. Of course, taking this off will change the butt plate size to the point that nothing standard or OEM will fit it anymore, but there is a nice little step-down in there at 3/4" deep. If it were me, and I had to do it, I'd look at buying an old style or standard stock and playing around with cutting that one down, instead of botching the Comfortech stock up. The Comfortech can be done, but you're going to need some skills to accomplish and make it look good. You could cut down the step, fashion an adapter plate out of aluminum, epoxy (nowhere to put screws) it in place, then put on a grind-to-fit pad. -
Yes, the standard Benelli and Beretta are the same.

Did you get kicked out of the fuge too? Should we start a club?

I'll snap a pic of mine and post it later today for you. I think it can be done, but it may require making an adaptor plate to fit inside the stock and then putting a grind to fit pad on there. -
meanwhile, back East.... It's judgement day

I'm going to have to disagree with Duggan on this one. The 870 is THE pump action shotgun. I had one for 25 years and wish I'd never sold it, even though I shoot a SBEII exclusively now. The 870 never once failed me and was always smooth as silk. I briefly owned two Novas. They are good guns, but not as smooth as the 870, and not as proven over time. As far as Nova or Supernova, I'd go with the Supernova, because I think that will eventually be the only Nova model, and you can change stocks. [ 08-29-2006, 09:37 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

First I'd heard of the 20 ga. Cordoba. Thanks for the heads up! I'm still drooling over the Mania!

Not so ducky here today with a high of 97. It does look like we'll have a hurrican for our early goose opener on Friday though

With the current path, it's not going to have enough time over water to regain much strength at all. Looks like good news all the way around.

The timing of the cold front coming in from the NW is going to be critical for us. It should push it back out off the coastal Carolinas. Keep us posted as long as you can, and good luck.

Midway, Cabelas, Brownells, etc. should ship to Canada. Search for Break-Free CLP. M-Pro 7 is also highly rated. http://www.mp7.com/
