  1. Please review the subject of the thread. If you want to discuss gun laws, start a new one. elksnot, Thanks for the updates. I look forward to seeing them. [ 05-14-2005, 11:26 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  2. I'm sure you've seen the exotics from Firequest, but just in case you haven't... http://www.firequest.com/

Currently 2 Benellis and a Stoeger.
  4. conradducks, It would be a nice move, but I've heard of nothing in the works yet. When they come out with a 20 ga LH Montefeltro, I'll race you to the store!

  6. I wouldn't be shocked at all. We've been talking about them here for months, and it seems that almost every R1 owner would like a synthetic version. I'd REALLY like to see one with a teflon or birdsong type finish.
  7. Gun_Guy, Great portrait. Did you take that yourself, or is it a Wal-Mart Studios original?
  8. elk_snot9, Where did you hear this?

  10. Shouldn't be a problem. The part numbers for the RH and LH safety buttons are the same. Access is topside and easy. Pin, spring, detent.
  11. Your poll makes no sense at all. The SBEII is worth the money when one can afford it. Just don't use it to hold up 7-11's because you can't put gas in your car in September.

    Kites

That should always be a concern with anyone's posts. When it's obvious the person asking the questions doesn't know what they're doing or is ineperienced, they should be referred to Benelli CS.
  14. The full parts breakdown is available on the Italian website under customer service. http://www.benelli.it/Home.asp?Lan=EN [ 05-10-2005, 07:11 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  15. clayton51, The 28" is the best choice for the type of use you've described.

    Kites

But it's a rifle, and I don't think they're allowed in pistol matches.

    Kites

Not so much anymore. I retired from competitive shooting when my kids came along. Still appreciate good equipment though. This one looks like something I'd like to take for a spin. [ 05-09-2005, 09:36 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Where can I buy a kite?
  22. labatyd, Please call Benelli Customer Service and describe the issue to them. They will advise you as to how to address the problem.
  23. Good grief. A two stage trigger allows the manufacturer to use a heavier pull weight, while still meeting the demands of discriminating shooters who desire a lighter and more crisp break when firing the weapon. By splitting the operation into two stages, the trigger starts off heavy, but breaks to light before firing. It's sort of like staging a dragster.... Ready >>> GO! BB & GG, Which one do you warn? And I swear I didn't make tinyurl give this link those last three letters! http://tinyurl.com/9bduh
  25. Ditto to what cherok9878 says about the extra barrells. I've got the -06, but if I were going to use it for Texas whitetails and elk I'd step up to the 300, either regular mag or WSM. My 30-06 was not all that pleasing in the beginning. I had migrated from a BAR in 270. The biggest diappointment was accuracy, but another board member, phenon101, put me onto a better factory load and tossed in a few other tips for good measure. After some tweaking, the R1 groups around 1.25' at 100 yards with Remington Accutip 150's. phenom101 reports tighter groups with handloads, but I'm past having the time in my life to play around with handloading anymore Fit, feel, and finish of the rifle is excellent, but most of us would like to see a stainless/synthetic offering. Search these boards for "R1" and you'll find our archived reports and discussions. Pay particular attention to phenom's posts as he has come up with some great tips to improve accuracy and function. Bottom line - If your whitetails and elk are at 300 yards and under, then the R1 should be fine. Otherwise, go with a good bolt gun. I need a semi-auto because many of my shots at whitetail are on the run, so a follow up or four comes in handy. Our limits are also liberal, so we can make piles on doe days
