The sling attachment on the SBEII is "loose" in that it spins around in the cap. [ 04-30-2005, 06:22 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

I try to maintain as much torque on it as there was when it was new. If you put 40 rounds throught it, there's no way that aligning the dots will maintain this torque. I fired mine and the more I fired, the wider the groups were getting. I read phenom101's post about the torque and tightened mine. There was an immediate improvement in the groups. Mine has had maybe 100 rounds through it and it's now set at three clicks past the marks. CS should read the forums. Maybe they'd learn something. I've been going entirely by feel. Mine is now at three clicks past. 100 rounds.

HA! Must be a difference in years. Mine usually tries to sneak off to bed and leave me on the couch

The specs for the M3T listed it as having a slug barrel. It didn't specify whether it was smoothbore or rifled, but I guess I assumed it to be rifled. I suggest calling Benelli customer service and posing the question to them.

I looked at the new BAR's (LogTrac & ShorTrac) when I was shopping last year, but I ended up with the Benelli as well. I have had a few problems with my R1, but customer service has been top-notch. I didn't say they were quick, but the quality is there.

I slide the piston assembly over the o-rings to remove it frome it from the cylinder plunger pin. If the rings are dirty or dry, I clean them and apply a drop or two of oil before removing the piston assembly. I have never disassembled the piston assembly into its sub-parts, but that would require the removal of the snap ring. [ 04-27-2005, 08:40 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

I asked the same questions regarding tolerances and although I have deleted the response, I recall that they were well within what I considered to be acceptable. No, there is no SS/Synthetic combo at this time. #7 - On mine, the forearm is removed, then it becomes the tool to loosen the piston retaining cap by inserting the sling mount pin into the hole. I have seen some models with a slightly different design which would not allow this to work.

Trigger guard, rib supports are pretty obvious. Look closely and you'll see that on the eagle (bottom), the barrel and the top half of the receiver are one solid piece. This makes the sbe2 a bit easier to strip and clean, IMHO. Other than these few items, they are very similar, which prompted your question in the first place. Ultimately, you have to have to ask yourself one question - Do you wanna shoot the most powerful 12 guage autoloader in the world? Well... do ya, punk? Killer list, ATGJDR! SS/Synthetic would be pretty darned cool. You may want to look at DiamondKote. http://www.mrarms.com/ It would take care of the metal parts at least. Not that expensive either. I'll Photoshop an R1 in a SS/Synthetic combo as soon as I have the time. I'm a little bit unclear on #7, however. Could you elaborate?

While I argee that other forums in general are more advanced in some ways, I'll have to stand up for Benelli and say that they are way ahead of the pack of firearms makers with theirs. Kudos also to them for their mostly "hands-off" approach in censorship on this forum. Someone at Benelli has realized that the most open and honest customer feedback comes from shutting up and letting the customers speak amongst themselves. Anonymity is a double-edged sword, but I think by and large, the pros outweigh the cons, as consumers tend to speak their minds more freely when they're just a nickname and an IP address.

I know. The comment about RamLine was meant purely in jest at Benelli. Basically I was saying, "Benelli, please do this right, before someone else does it way wrong." On the other hand, a nice offering from McMillan or Hogue would be welcomed with open arms and checkbook at the ready.

It's true. Just make sure they are the kind made for smoothbore guns. Ammo manufacturers' websites will guide you.
-
Oh, and with regard to the question about separate forum for the R1's, I agree in some respects, but no other individual model has its own forum, so it's not likely to happen.
-
Where did you ask the questions? This forum is not for customer service issues, and they're not doing a good job on replying to e-mails. Phone is the best/surest way to contact them.

AIGJDR, There are a few tweaks towards improving accuracy. Click phenom 101's profile above and review some of his posts. You could look through mine, but mine's the bigger haystack. As for the oil, the R1 takes very little and the bottle shipped with the rifle will probably last me 4 years or better. However, if you are out, any QUALITY gun oil will do. I like the Elite line from Hoppes.

What you're looking for is M3 T http://www.berettadefence.com/INGLESE/default_presentazione_M3_T.htm and in case you miss the link, here are the specs. http://www.berettadefence.com/INGLESE/default_tabella_impieghi_speciali.htm [ 04-26-2005, 10:59 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
