  1. If you think it can't happen to you, read this:
  2. Copied from another forum but this is a worthwhile cause. Basically a few rich people have figured out how to keep waterfowlers from legally hunting near them. They put out feeders on public ground, so now those areas are considered to be baited and no one can hunt here. Huey Lewis, I'm sure you've heard of him, he's one of the rich boys pulling this crap. Please read on: In the latest twist in the saga of Mitchell Slough, several Bitterroot Valley landowners have effectively closed the area to duck hunting by installing feeding stations along the waterway. "I'm feeding ducks all over my place - many of us neighbors are," said Huey Lewis, rock musician and ranch owner along the Mitchell. "The reason is, the (Montana) Supreme Court decision has changed everything here, and now we have public access. And most of us believe the Mitchell is unsuitable for duck hunting." Nevertheless, the move came as a surprise to Missoula duck hunter Ron Pence, who was wading up the slough between Victor and Stevensville on Tuesday and saw Lewis' feeders. "It's attracted every duck in the area," Pence said. "Legally, if I know where a bait pile is, I can't hunt around there or I'll get cited. Now you'd have to do an aerial survey before you can ever hunt around there again." Story found here from the Missoulian: http://tinyurl.com/yl6ygrk
  3. Whew... that's a good thing. The three B's: Benelli Beretta Browning I love'em all.
  4. A QUARTER of a CENTURY. Man he's old... Nova.
  5. Hmm... wondering how they will do when they get wet... Yeah, yeah, I know, should have thought about that "before" showing them to other people. Other than that, I can't think of any other hang-ups.
  6. I've seen one, and it was no where near where I live. As far as how abundant they are, they planned to have a sustainable population at 520 wolves, we easily have double that. I know you can find them, it just depends on where you go. It's not like seeing coyotes (fortunately) but there are enough of them that they need to be managed now.
  7. Well that sucks - I'll never be a real duck hunter then! I've enjoyed the show so far. They seem like good 'ole boys.
  8. What do you guys think?
  9. No baiting, no trapping. Basically it's if you see one you can shoot it if that area is still open. No electronic calls, but I'm not sure they would respond to a call like what you would bring in a coyote with. As for stuffing it - not sure if I would do that or if I would just have the hide tanned. I'll have to SEE one first before I worry about any of that.
  10. It wasn't hard to get - they are selling the over the counter to everyone. There are only 215 (or something like that) wolves that they will allow to be harvested, so they will undoubtedly sell a ton more tags than what will be allowed to be taken, but that's ok - I don't mind giving money to our F&G.
  11. Whether they actually allow it to happen or not, I'm ready... .
  12. Thanks man - was posting it up for a new SBE II owner on another forum.
  13. I wasn't sure I was going to like it - but I enjoyed the show.

  15. If you're thinking of an auto you could check out the Cordoba and still keep it in 20 gauge: http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli_cordoba.php Benelli has several choices for 20 gauge that would be an upgrade to your Nova. The Nova was my first shotgun as well, in 20 gauge also. I now have a Beretta Xtrema 2, 12 gauge, and a Browning Cynergy, 12 gauge. If you like the smaller guns try an O/U - shoulder the Browning Cynergy. You might like it. Brand loyality is awesome, but find what fits and works for you.
  16. It would appear that I am free from bannage. My thanks to those of you who helped liberate me.
  17. Oh man, I'd NEVER do that. I heard about one guy that got a Browning tattoo on his arm and when Browning found out they gave him two options: 1. Have the tattoo removed completely, not even a scar in the shape of their trademark could be left, which meant cutting off a square patch of skin from his arm! Or... 2. He could show up at watever function they wanted him at, for free, wearing a wife beater tee-shirt so his trademarked tattoo could be seen, and he had to wear a sombrero with bean dip in the top for party-goers to dip from.
  18. DUDE! Don't let any of these guys fool you. Tucker has barrel sticks on BOTH of his SBEII's. BOTH of them!!! Pictures of each: Team Water-Swatter Lefties Do It Right If you want a barrel sticker who are these guys to give you crap and tell you they aren't cool!! Tell them all to go p!ss up a rope! I have to admit though, this made me laugh, hard:
  19. Also, something to consider - the whole point of being a member of the NRA is to help support the work they do to fight for our gun rights. Joining up for a free membership doesn't accomplish that. Even if the only thing you do is pay for the $25 membership, well... at least that is "something" rather than just signing up for a free magazine subscription. It costs money to fight for our rights and I'm certain that every little bit helps. Liken it to a free membership to your favorite waterfowl organization. What good would that do in helping waterfowl? Something to consider anyway... .
  20. A free bit of advice: Do NOT put your phone number in your registration. I'm all for the NRA, but I cannot stand receiving 5 to 10 phone calls a WEEK asking for money. That is why I discontinued my membership years ago. This time around when I paid to sign up again I left out my phone number - life is much better. I still get at least one mailer a week (if not two or three) asking for money, but those are much easier to deal with than a pushy sales droid on the phone. .
  21. So perhaps it wasn't something they invented but improved (in their mind) hence the wording. .
