  1. You're not going to wait to see what the new Benelli is? What if it's even better than the M2? You'll be sorrrrrryyyyyy...
  2. See... I knew there was more to discuss. Duck season doesn't end, you just have to change the weapon you use. Buy a camera and hit all your favorite spots. Why did I say that? Because every duck hunter in American that knows how to use a PC is on their favorite forums, chewing on someone else because duck season is over. Enjoy.
  3. Somehow, I really doubt he's calling you that...
  4. Wait! Don't leave yet! There's so much more to discuss!! .
  5. DOH! I must have missed the part where I have to do what you say. Whoops! I've found that when people feel that someone else is getting the better of them, they start to call names. It's a youngsters tactic, but some adults seem to hold on to it as well. As for being an Internet Warden, sure, why not? Isn't it part of being a good Sportsman to turn over infractions to the proper authorities? Oh, and I didn't call, being an Internet Warden and all, I used the Internet. What better way to record than through text? Oh, and by the way - they didn't even laugh at me. But hey, lets try out this tactic to distract people from your behavior in THIS thread. How's that working out, anyway? I should mention that as you noted earlier that you said you were a pretty good guy. I have no reason whatsoever to doubt that. Well, other than the fact that you continually hassled the guy who started this thread. Other than that, I've no reason to doubt what kind of person you are. I'm sure you are a good person and could easily be someone I could get along with face to face. However, you kept it going with this guy, spinning him up and basically telling him he didn't know what he was talking about, and you don't even know him from Adam. Why is it that you know it all and he can't voice his opinion without you telling him he doesn't know what he's talking about? I spoke up because I thought that was wrong, and now that you're getting a taste of what it's like, I'm an ass? Go figure... I'm actually a really nice guy as well, though I tend to dislike bullies, be they on the internet, or face to face. That sort of behavior should have been left in high school, but often times on the Internet it rises to the top again. Generally speaking it comes from guys that say this: "I say it like it is, I don't sugar coat anything" as if that gives them a free license to act like a jerk. OR... they could speak their mind, respectfully to others. It's too easy to say crap to others when there is no accountability beyond a potential forum suspension or banning. As for your elite comment. HA! I couldn't be farther from being elite on this forum. Sure, I have several hundred posts, big deal. Post count doesn't equate to being we'll loved, or getting special treatment. The Admin here doesn't know "me" from Adam and wouldn't cut me any sort of slack that I'm aware of. Sure, I know a couple of the guys that have been here a long time, but you know what? We get along because I didn't treat them or others like dirt. Again, go figure... .
  6. I think that's kind of the point. How do you know the original poster didn't do exactly the same thing? That's another thing - you seem to assume he did. Nah... I'm good discussing it here, thanks.

Er... well... sure, maybe I did and I just don't recall? Thanks anyway for the help!
  8. Definitely find a gunsmith. In the end it will be worth what you spend, versus damaging your gun.
  9. Wait a minute... what I want to know is how did we get off the subject of me? Tucker! Duncan is edging us out for the invite!!! Just to be sure... you wouldn't let him shoot my Sweet 16, right...?
  10. Yeah, I know what you mean. That Sweet Sixteen is just too heavy to carry. In fact, why don't you just send that to me and I'll make sure you never have to lug that heavy-weight around again!
  11. Those are #1 and #2 for me as well. The Refuge can have some great info on it and duckhungtingchat can be good to read as well.
  12. Man I hate it when I show up late for a show! I can only assume that this includes you? A lot of people read about these organizations, the work they do, the things they participate in, etc. They also talk with friends and yes, hear about things and experiences others have had to form their own opinions. All are perfectly viable for doing so, yet some may certainly be more reliable than others. You however, like me, are making assumptions of what this man knows or doesn't know. Not the greatest thing to do, eh? Hmm... you acting like you're the rational one in this discussion just went down the toilet. Once you take pot shots at someone else for typing etiquette then you're just as bad as they are. Granted, we would all love to read something that is perfectly spelled, grammar checked and easy on the eyes, but if you've been exposed to the internet long enough then you certainly must be fluent in typo. He didn't ask for a bashing session. He asked for opinions on two different organizations. Simple enough. "I'm taking the upper road here" followed by some veiled/snide remark? Man you're a friendly feller... As for the original topic - why not a local organization? A lot of states have Waterfowl Associations that you can join. Those have a direct interest in your local areas. That's what I did - I joined the one formed for our state as I knew I wanted to give something back, but didn't want it to get lost in a national corporation. Apparently that didn't work entirely as I went to a Waterfowl Hunters Party, hosted by DU, and apparenly by attending and paying for dinner you automagically become a member. Which is fine, as I believe the money went to a good cause - waterfowl, but overall, if I had to choose one or the other it would be Delta. Researching each, I think that Delta fits better with what I would want to see done. That isn't to say that DU doesn't do great things, I think they do, but I also think that they are also getting a bit sidetracked in certain areas. You aren't the first to have issues with them, however minor they may be. We have guys here even that have expressed concerns about DU and what they've done in some local areas that have locked out guys that have hunted areas for generations, for the benefit of a select few. That isn't how I want my dollars to be spent. Go local. I think you'll get more enjoyment out of it and you'll enjoy participating in the events they have, whether it be a BBQ or a river clean-up. Good luck.
  13. Depends on a few things - what, if any, cleaning solvents has the finish been exposed to? Some of those will damage the camo finish. Also, there are some spots on a shotgun that are going to get "normal" wear, that the camo treatment will become thinner and eventually show through to whats underneath. And... you could have just gotten a bad dip job (or whatever process they use to put it on). Some wear is going to be expected, but if it's excessive you could certainly call Benelli CS and ask about it. Otherwise, Tuckers advise works great.

Oh, and one other thing - just so you know that when you read a thread at the bottom of the last post in the thread you can hit the "Post Reply" button and it will let you reply to the person right in that thread. That way you can have a conversation with them in one thread, instead of starting a new one every time. Good luck.

I only have one question: Huh? Sorry man, I'm not sure why you're wanting to tell me this, but... I'm glad the guns working well for you!
  16. I ejoy the upland as well - here's my upland hunting buddy: That's probably why I don't mind if the new gun is an O/U. I really enjoy shooting my O/U while I'm out upland hunting. It'd be nice to see Benelli come out with a quality O/U for that reason. Right now I have a Browning Cynergy - love it.
  17. Yeah, he said it very well. I can't think of too many people we've actually flamed on here. You'd have to be a pretty big w@nker for that to occur. And I don't know how much help "I" actually am as I consider myself a newbie to shotguns. All the expertise comes from guys like Tucker - not me. I'm just comic relief. That being said, you can't be "that" old, because I've seen pictures of Tucker and d@mn! He's OLD!! And and just so I can keep it somewhat on topic - I still think it's an O/U!!
  18. Sorry to hear it. Always tough loosing a good friend, be they of two feet or four.
  19. Cool. Did it work well on waterfowl, or...?
  20. Ran over? Dude... follow the directions or take your ball and go home.
  21. And I still hope it's an O/U. AND I want copies of the pictures that Mudhen has of you, just so I can know what's up...
