  1. I thought you said you were against baiting them in?
  2. Welcome aboard. Hope to see some hunting pics and hear some good stories from you.
  3. No doubt - it looks like a very cool project! Not sure where I would use it around here but I bet I could find "some place" to try it out. What do you think it will weigh when it's done?
  4. He said he did have others shoot the gun with the same result.
  5. Any pictures of them?
  6. Almost as dense as other things around here. LOL Just kidding little buddy. Cool looking project! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
  7. Bent like a boomerang - now THAT I would like to see
  8. Nice! .....
  9. Now see, THAT sounds like Mudhen - not those whiney posts from before! And who the crap is Ski?
  10. Correct. Uh... no. No clue who that dude is or why you chose him. If you had clicked the link in Tuckers post you would have seen this: Hence the reason it was a "jab"
  11. Manties. I like blue, personally. They're more masculine that way.
  12. Dude! Take it easy man. I've never met you but I like you - it wasn't meant to send you in to some downward spiral of hate and discontent. If the original post was to rally the troops (Benelli owners) to get us to contact CS as well and make them man up, great. If you were posting here to get CS to do something, well... yeah - this isn't a conduit to reach CS, as stated in the red text at the top of "any" post you make, and repeated by Nelli Girl. Not comparing you to anyone, dude. You got something else going on in life, because you sure seem to be thin skinned in this thread. What's up, man?
  13. Why? Because between you and Tucker I figure you guys are the ones that can actually take it without crying. As for helping the guy out - yeah, sounds like a legitimate problem, and yet I doubt CS is going to fix it from this thread. That's not meant to be an offensive statement, it's just what they've told us here, time and time again. Right? As for the actual guy, does he sound reasonable? His first threat was to cut the gun up in 2 inch pieces and send it back? Not sure about you but I don't know why anyone would piss away over a thousand dollars because they are hot under the collar. He has a fair complaint, but when someone says they are willing to do something like that then I have to wonder how they spoke to CS when they called. He says he was nice and all that, but he surely didn't give that impression in his post, did he? What I really would have like to see is what the guys here would have told him if he had posted that very same rant here.
  14. Nope, didn't read his post on some other forum, just yours on this forum. AND - I figured that I've been around long enough that I figured you'd know it was just a jab and could take the jab and be none the worse for wear. Aww well...
  15. Oh man, I'm seeing a conspiracy here. Made in TURKEY and not so great for shooting AT Turkeys???? We better call that fat guy that makes movies - what was his name? Michael Morcock?
  16. Dude - you should just paint it yourself.

  18. Welcome aboard Ireland! And in the spirit of the Irish, a short story: A concert in Ireland At a U2 concert in Ireland , Bono (the lead singer) asks the audience for some quiet. Then he starts to slowly clap his hands. Holding the audience in total silence, he says into the microphone...."I want you to think about something. Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies." A voice from the front of the audience yells out.... "Then stop clapping, ya a**hole!" You Got To Love the Irish!
  19. That is pretty cool. I have to see a canvasback or pintail - we supposedly have some around but I've never seen one yet. Looking forward to getting out this fall for some waterfowl hunting
  20. "Gopher tourism" is making inroads across the southern grainbelt, with some farmers offering free room, board and even free ammunition to anyone willing to kill the voracious gophers gobbling up their crops. —Les Jordet, Hazenmore farmerFarmers near Swift Current, Sask., are looking for tourists with guns to combat an infestation they say is especially bad near Aneroid, Ponteix and Hazenmore. Les Jordet, a mixed crop farmer near Hazenmore, has opened his home to host visitors from Manitoba as well as a group from B.C. "They drove 17 hours to get here. They just totally went on a real hunt," Jordet said. "They would drive to where they seen a pocket of gophers and sit out, and walk. They'd shoot for hours and hours in spots." Local officials welcome the gun-toters so long as they save farmers' crops. Jordet said the out-of-towners shot thousands of gophers a day, and even worried they would run out targets. He assured them that was not the case. "They could shoot here for years and never run out of gophers," Jordet said. The critters, cute as they may seem, are a severe infestation problem for him. Most of his land is a write-off for growing anything at all, he said. Still, although he's hopeful the hunters' efforts will help save his farm, Jordet said there was another problem he did not factor in — the stench of dead gopher. "The next three, four days, the smell of the gophers decaying is just about overwhelming. It gets so strong that it's hard to believe that these little guys are five, six inches long, probably a pound-and-a-half in weight," he said. "That's a lot of gophers to get a smell going like that." Full article here.
  21. Not sure what the deal is with that. Use the link in my second post and email your elected officials. I'm not sure if it's as good as commenting directly but it's gotta be better than nothing.

  23. Tuesday, July 03, 2007 The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has proposed new rules that would have a dramatic effect on the storage and transportation of ammunition and handloading components such as primers or black and smokeless powder. The proposed rule indiscriminately treats ammunition, powder and primers as “explosives.” Among many other provisions, the proposed rule would: Prohibit possession of firearms in commercial “facilities containing explosives”—an obvious problem for your local gun store. Require evacuation of all “facilities containing explosives”—even your local Wal-Mart—during any electrical storm. Prohibit smoking within 50 feet of “facilities containing explosives.” It’s important to remember this is only a proposed rule right now, so there’s still time for concerned citizens to speak out before OSHA issues its final rule. The National Rifle Association, National Shooting Sports Foundation, and Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute will all be commenting on these proposed regulations, based on the severe effect these regulations (if finalized) would have on the availability of ammunition and reloading supplies to safe and responsible shooters. The public comment period ends July 12. To file your own comment, or to learn more about the OSHA proposal, click here or go to http://www.regulations.gov/ and search for Docket Number OSHA-2007-0032”; you can read OSHA’s proposal and learn how to submit comments electronically, or by fax or mail. ----------------------------- OSHA Docket Office Docket No. OSHA-2007-0032 U.S. Department of Labor, Room N-2625 200 Constitution Ave., N.W. Washington, DC 20210 Re.: Docket No. OSHA-2007-0032 (Explosives—Proposed Rule) Dear Sir or Madam: I am writing in strong opposition to OSHA’s proposed rules on “explosives,” which go far beyond regulating true explosives. These proposed rules would impose severe restrictions on the transportation and storage of small arms ammunition—both complete cartridges and handloading components such as black and smokeless powder, primers, and percussion caps. These restrictions go far beyond existing transportation and fire protection regulations. As a person who uses ammunition and components, I am very concerned that these regulations will have a serious effect on my ability to obtain these products. OSHA’s proposed rules would impose restrictions that very few gun stores, sporting goods stores, or ammunition dealers could comply with. (Prohibiting firearms in stores that sell ammunition, for example, is absurd—but would be required under the proposed rule.) The proposed transportation regulations would also affect shooters’ ability to buy these components by mail or online, because shipping companies would also have great difficulty complying with the proposed rules. There is absolutely no evidence of any new safety hazard from storage or transportation of small arms ammunition or components that would justify these new rules. I also understand that organizations with expertise in this field, such as the National Rifle Association, National Shooting Sports Foundation, and Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Association, will be submitting detailed comments on this issue. I hope OSHA will listen to these organizations’ comments as the agency develops a final rule on this issue. Sincerely, ---------------- Article found here.
  24. Shooting 2-3/4" shells, it kicks less than my 20 gauge Nova. I didn't need an article to make that comparison - I have both guns. If the felt recoil could be as light as what it is in my Xtrema II in any shotgun, then there would be no shotgun made that I would dislike shooting. My Cynergy comes close as its recoil pad is quite nice, but it's still not as easy going as the Kick-Off system. I haven't put "thousands" of rounds through my Xtrema II but it's had hundreds of rounds through it. Everything from light 2-3/4" target rounds to 3-1/2" turkey loads. I haven't had any problems and the gun is awesome to shoot, and anyone I've taken shooting with me has had nothing bad to say about the gun. I do however like how the SBE II swings though, as it feels a little better to me in that regard. But as for recoil - hands down my Beretta has them all beat. Not sure what these other guys are doing to break their guns, maybe they use them a lot more than I do, or maybe they're careless, dunno, but I do know I've not regretted buying mine. You can't really come to a forum and search on a certain brand of gun and expect to see the bulk of the messages be positive. It just doesn't work that way. Make a customer happy and he tells a few friends. Piss off the same customer and he tells everyone he comes in contact with. That's true for any product, not just shotguns, and so when you go and look up information on the internet in places like this you see all the pissed off people. "Why won't my SBE II cycle light loads!!!!!!" As for the magazine articles... eh, take them for what they're worth. Fluff like Tucker said. Sponsors don't pay the bills to have their gear torn to pieces in a 1000 word article.
  25. Definitely - that would be a cool project to see in action.
