Just wondering if any of you put out hen houses at all. I was out scouting last weekend for turkeys and noticed a pair of woodducks. We don't see too many of those around here and I thought maybe I'd build some nesting boxes for them and put them out. It's probably too late for this season as I think they are already nesting, but the boxes would be there for next season. Seemed like it might be a worthwhile endeavour, that and it gives me an excuse to be out in the woods.

Six weeks and less doesn't equate to unteachable. Should anyone expect much of a dog that young? No. Could they still learn something and have fun doing it? Yes. Six months seems reasonable to me to start to teach them, but realize they are just babies. You wouldn't expect your 3 year old child to perform too well at that age, and at six months old that's what you've got with your dog.

I have an XD-40 that is ported. I have their XML light attached and really like the gun. Other than how loud it is, it's been great. My next pistol will be one of their 1911 .45 ACP Micro-Compacts for conceal and carry.

I've seen this same question on multiple forums - why didn't a bunch of them rush him and take him out. I'm actually surprised they didn't. It seems after 9/11 that people have been a little more willing to step up and not be instant victims. Many of us are "superman" in our own minds. Ok, here is the scoop: Their webpage: http://www.rubenhunts.com.mx $1800 gets you 4 days and 3 nights. You basically get six hunting times total, three in the morning and three in the afternoon. The $1800 includes accommodations, meals, drinks, transportation to their hunting areas and guides. Not included in the $1800 package price: Tips, hunting license, shotgun rental ($25 per day), and transportation to and from their camp. You can stay longer than what this package price includes, but you would of course have to pay more. It took a few PM’s back and forth but that’s the skinny. Looks like a nice enough place. Not sure that I’m interested in going any time soon, but, there you go for whoever might have an interest in it.

Anyone every put their grouse tail fans on display like they do the turkey fans? I've seen a picture of one and they're kind of cool. Might have to make a base for it and keep an eye out for some nice looking fans this fall.

Went out on Saturday to do some scouting for turkeys and of course we saw ducks and geese everywhere. Should have hauled a camera along just for fun. I'm definitely ready to give it another try this fall.

Dude, are you using the 1/4" mesh with that racket, or the 3/8" mesh, and how big was your shuttleco-ck? Yeah, not much you can do in Cali when you get voted down, but hopefully bringing some of these things to light will help other states avoid them. That just looks like communist tactics to me, what PA is trying to do. Hey - maybe you'll get lucky and the Mt. Lions will eat a few more joggers and their pets and the voters will vote to reinstate hunting on them.
