  1. Unless he was thinking about the Diamond - which isn't a Benelli, but...
  2. It appears I was not meant to hunt in Mexico with Mexicanshooter, as no further information was forthcoming to date. Ah well, perhaps someone from the Himalayas shall post so I can find the information for hunting abominable. Tucker, if I shoot abominable, can we mount it in your house? I don't think my wife will let me put that in the living room.
  3. Nope. Wondering if he's in some tourist hotspot that you could take the wife and let her do whatever while you hunt.
  4. Post up your information - might as well have a look since the natives are all restless and putting on their war-paint and everything. How much is the hunt? What are the dates that someone can come down and hunt there? Where are you located? What type of accomodations do you have there (lodging, food, transportation, anything else to see other than hunting if we bring a spouse)? Do you provide the guns or does the hunter have to bring his own? What are all the costs for coming and hunting at your location? Licenses, the hunt itself, food, lodging, tips, game care, all of that. Thanks.
  5. Hey, at least I had my hunter orange on.
  6. I'll have to order some, then. None of the sporting good shops in my area carry them.
  7. Cool, thanks for the info. I'll probably go see if I can round some up to try out. I don't think it necessarily matters, though the reason I believe he asked is that Jr. is a young fellow, still in school and living at home, and it sounded like you were doing well, and so I assume he wanted to know as he's getting old enough to start thinking about some of those life choices.
  8. Do you shoot them in the 3-1/2" shells, or one of the shorter length shells?
  9. $29 is up there, but I could swallow that much I suppose. I've just never paid that kind of money for shells.
  10. Are these the Win XR 6's that you are talking about? I don't think I've seen those while I was looking for turkey loads. Pretty sure I would have noticed shells that were $55 per box.
  11. Will have to check them out - thanks for the info.
  12. Wow - that is a "really" nice pattern.
  13. That's what I was thinking as well. That's just sighting down the rib to the front bead. Other than that, does it look alright? And the Federals look like the shell to use between the two of those, don't they?
  14. That is just with open sights, from a seated position. I don't have a rifle sled or anything like that, so I just sat down on my turkey seat that I hunt with and shot from the same position I expect I'll be in while hunting. The target is a 13" circle.
  15. The next two are Federal Premium Mag-Shok, 3-1/2" #5 shot, taken at 40 yards also:
  16. I tried a couple of shells with my turkey choke tube and thought I'd get opinions. These first two are Winchester High Velocity Turkey Loads, 3-1/2", #5 shot, taken at 40 yards:
  17. I started mine out with banging his food dishes together (metal dishes). He got so he associated the loud noises with food and so he was comfortable with it. Any time I was working outside and knew I was going to be hammering or whatever I kept an eye on him and he always seemed fine. When we introduced him to the gun during training he never flinched. The gun fire became associated with "birds" and he's got no problem with it at all. I'm no expert but it worked for me. I'm not sure I'd be making "surprise" noises with a puppy though - seems like he'll feel safer if he knows what's up rather than BANG! Surprise Herbert! Hope that didn't scare you buddy! Good looking pup, by the way. He ain't a Pudel Pointer, and I was SO excited to see your your pup, but this one was the right price and will be a great hunting companion.
  18. One is enough for sure, but I just really like the Pudel Pointer. I'll sneak one in some time I'm sure. As for the parents, I wasn't sure if he knew which batch yours would be coming out of or not - just curious to see who the dame and sire are. I'm excited to see your new dog, man!
  19. Do you know what parents your PP is going to be out of? I "really" want to get one on the way as well, but my wife would shoot me if I got another dog right now.
  20. Didn't draw for the area where I live, so... looking at a trip up to Montana maybe. SBE's cousin - Xtrema2. Extended Optima Choke. Trying a couple of different loads to see what works best.
  21. I saw a video clip the other day on youtube that was a guy explaining the differences between a semi-auto and an "assault" weapon. Wish I could find that again as it also was a powerful piece to show people.
  22. Don't get me wrong, I like peanuts, but... yuk?
  23. The dude squeezes a peanut out of the ducks throat (one he's just shot) and then eats it? Come one - that's a bit much.
