  1. I would advise staying away from the hevi shot, its not very reliable and it leaves a big mess. [ 04-21-2005, 06:58 PM: Message edited by: The_Gun_Guy ]
  2. I come prepared; I bring a shotgun, and I bring an observer with me that carries an air rifle. I have shot only one gobbler with that and it was at 100yds and it wasn't getting any closer so I shot him right in the neck, (but I was aiming for the head) And I wouldn't recomend anyone else trying it because I spent 1300 on an air rifle thinking that it would come in handy and after ten years just once
  3. I'm only postponing the aypocolipse
  4. Well nothing is perminent and if you get the right sling it will be possible to remove it but just not in a couple of seconds.
  5. http://www.winchester.com/products/catalog/shotdetail.aspx?symbol=STXS12L5&use=16 heres a link to it
  6. Hah! good point however if you must shoot past 30 yds use an extra full extended choke with winchester xtended range turkey shot(it's incredibly expensive but devestatingly good patterns)
  7. Thx for the links guys [ 04-17-2005, 02:56 PM: Message edited by: The_Gun_Guy ]
  8. I would suggest getting the mag cap from benelli. and for the rear get a screw in stud I have tried the cap instiallation thing and it sucks. It is NOT easy to install and doesn't require SOME modifications to the cap, I ended up getting a new one from benelli anyway. but I don't have first hand expeiriance of struggle with the m1 I might add my m1 is the most reliable shotgun I ever purchased, you wont be disappointed with it.
  9. Shotguns are hard to clean it's the only type of gun that is practicly required to use a mop
  10. Does anyone know if they have a breach barrel for a SBE, m1, supersport, or nova? Dear tucker301: if it's not too much trouble do you know a good site for benelli berrals?
  11. do you have an m1; I have one and I am to afraid to goo 800 rds without cleaning. If you do is it reliable for long trips in heavy conditions?
  12. The other day I went out and tested several types of shot including hevi-shot. The heavy shot was the last thing I thought would ahve caused the problem I am experiancing. I tested High velocity slugs, buckshot, and heavy shot. everything went well. accept when I was cleaning it there was a "p-nut buttery" texture to the deposites I was removing. And I am still unable to remove it completely after 3 overnight soakings. My original conclusion was the slugs because I never really used them before. but after reading tsg912's post I beilieve it was the hevi-shot [ 04-14-2005, 04:52 PM: Message edited by: The_Gun_Guy ]
  13. or we will have radioactive eye balls ^
  14. First of all the 870 is twenty bucks cheaper than a nova and if your spending 300$ twenty bucks is not evan icing on the cake and IN 30 years there will be no atmosphere and all the Gamma radiation from the sun is not going to be filtered and were either giong to start sprouting tumers or be turning into wolfmen
  15. He's right I have the m1 not the m4 raills! If you get this before you buy them abort don't get them I'm sorry for all the trouble
  16. Well it's fine as long as the 18" mag will be fine AS LONG AS IT'S NOT RIFLED. I don't know what the standard length for the m1 super 90 is anymore. mine came with a 24"
  17. Curses outwitted again! I'll get you next time tucker
  18. ^ Whats that supposed to mean? [ 04-13-2005, 05:28 PM: Message edited by: The_Gun_Guy ]
  19. If you want to keep the new gun clean and running well winchester is the best, It wont leak insilation. If you want the mear best patterns remingtion is the way to go. and get non- plated shot ( its way easier to clean;) I've tried federal, and my opinion is "It's best if used in the field" 3" is the best size shell to test with. and try to find #1 Buck, I like their patterns
  20. Well first and foremost are you using your maximum chamber length if so it will work better at one level down. also check the brand of ammunition remingtion makes the best hevi-shot. it could also simply be you and your not properly aligning the sights if you don't have sights thats your problem GET SIGHTS And last but not least it could be the choke: stick a light down the barrel and is it off set from the barrel on a particuar spot there you go If the choke is off from the barrel a little on side you should write an angry letter to the manufacturerer and find out if it's the barrel or the choke with the problem. this has happened to me before but it was on a Silma: I wouldn't expect it from benelli
  21. The size of a barrel does not matter as far as accuracy, the only reason they make them longer is because its a little easier to aim. 24" is probably perfect for you if you want to do waterfowl and turkey. it's not too short for waterfowl and its not too long for turkey. I recomend your original decision of getting a 24" barrel: It's perfect for what you want to do.
  22. I wish I could help you guys but You all live hundreds of miles away and I strongly recomend not trying to flip the safety on a nova pump on your own. sometimes It looks easy and people don't want to bother trying to contact one of us; they end up with more than they can handle. it's usually a simple operation but I recomend that you sit this one out.
  23. If your refering to my rather obsene post, sorry about that it wasn't a particularly good day for me. The recoil isn't that much of an issue it's just my fear of accidently cocking it in mid shot again. the autos or break actions just feel more secure in my hand with that solid forearm.
  24. Holy crap thats an awsome place to hunt. You live In elk grove: whose property is that I want to hunt there!
  25. Search the web for more dealers, is all I can advise. If your no good at searching the web than give your zip code and ill give you a list of five star dealers in your location.
