  1. lol @ Tuck I said it before, and I'll say it again....it's not the Space Shuttle........it's a shotgun. If the little ball up there bothers you that **** much, then call CS. If that doesn't get you anywhere, then I guess you deal with it. What's gonna happen one day when you accidentally drop it and put a big scratch in it somewhere? Are you going to complain that it's made from faulty metal?
  2. It's not the Space Shuttle........it's a shotgun.
  3. I couldn't open the link, my pop-up blocker got a workout though.
  4. I would not take that challenge, so if that makes me stupid, then so be it. personally, I would think you'd have to be stupid to pull the trigger on it, balls or not. Like John 1911 said....if your gonna be dumb(stupid), you better be tough.

  6. The only reason people like that exist, is because there is no law against it.
  7. I could be persuaded to bring along my M4 Carbine. I have around 30 clips for it.
  8. "looks in rear-view".....uh oh, the forum police....everyone slam your beer. umm.....no pun intended, 69beers. [ 03-04-2006, 02:28 AM: Message edited by: Likwid ]
  9. Well, I was hoping that a few more people would volunteer. Case of Rifle ammo - $200.00 Winchester 300 Win Mag - $450.00 Saving taxpayer money with every shot - Priceless How is that for patriotism?
  10. Nothing that a few "good old boys", a few rifles and 2 cases of ammunition can't cure. When they cross the border and have to climb over piles of dead bodies, they will probably get the idea that they do not belong here. A Vietnamese General once said "Kill all they send, and they will stop coming". I would be willing to donate a day or two out of every month to camp my happy *** along the border with my 300 Win Mag.
  11. Wow.....a lot of opinions here....so allow me to give you mine. remember, this is just one a..holes opinion of a few of these issues. 1. Illegial Immigrants - Either make them taxpaying citizens, or get them the **** out. I'm tired of them costing me money. If they don't leave on their own, show em the f....ing door. 2. The war in Afghanistan/Iraq - Americans are dying daily over the greed of our "leaders". As a military veteran myself (gulf war I), I say bring our troops, sailors, marines and airdales home. Let Iraq and everyone else handle their own business. 3. European countries - Let them handle their own business, as with everyone else. And stop giving them OUR hard-earned tax money, as we have our own poor people here, in AMERICA. Yes, it's sad to see people elsewhere suffering, but I'm tired of paying for it. 4. Religion(s) - Yeah, a great set of "morals" to follow......I don't know about you guys, but God doesn't pay my heat bill, or any other bill. Be honest, make your money and take care of your family. I don't have to go to church for that. If some other country wants to kill me for not believing in their faith, fine.......I have guns, bring it. Someone mentioned daisy-cutters before.....I'm all for it. Push the f....ing button and get it overwith. I'm all for charity, but we (America) should take care of our own first, instaed of stepping on their heads to reach out to other countries just to give them OUR tax money. F..k that. My bottom line.......if someone threatens the US, then we should go deal with it, and let that be the end of it. Otherwise, stay the **** out of their business. Just one a..holes opinion.

    Same here, Tuck.
  13. I can't answer your question, but I am curious where you live that you need to worry about home defense.
  14. Here is a picture from my hunt in Nebraska. This was taken from over half a mile away...I couldn't fit all of them on the screen of my camera. Unreal.
  15. I had 10 beers, got all 10 quail, didn't hit him and even got a 2 for 1 hit.

    Grizzly man

I don't know anything about that show, but how exactly is this dude protecting bears? Does he throw his sandals at would-be hunters? Maybe he'll have an encounter similar to that freak in the vegas show with the tiger a while back.
  17. Hey Tuck The cornfields were really tough, and we put on at least 800 miles driving the dirt roads all over Nebraska following these things. Some of the fields were 2x2, some were 4x4, and not many hills. I've never hunted these birds before our trip, and if we go again things will be done a lot differently. I would think that by now they are well north of where we were in the southeast area. On our way back, we noticed a lot more open water than there was 3 days prior. All in all it was a good trip, regardless of the number of birds taken. Next year we will likely go up to Canada, but the focus will be on ducks rather than geese.
  18. We just got back from Nebraska last night, it was a lot different than I thought it would be. Our hunt started in Niobrara, but it had gotten so cold that the rivers, lakes and ponds froze over....so the geese went back south. we loaded up our gear and headed south to Lexington where we saw thousands of them flying. A mix of Canadians, Blues and Snows. We ended up talking to some local farmers in the bars later than night and we hooked up with a farmhand who got us permission to hunt a few local cornfields. So, the next morning we went out early and setup our decoys and layouts. We had a pretty good spot, but the weather was not very cooperative. By any normal standards, it was a beautiful day... not a single cloud in the sky, about a 15 mph wind and all sunshine. It didn't take us long to realize that we could not possibly decoy a flock of 500 birds. We got lucky on a flyover and got 4 birds, but that was after sitting there for half the day. It's really hard to hunt these things, because they were sitting out in the middle of 2-mile cornfields. We had no approach that was covered, no bad weather to push them down, and no way of dealing with huge flocks that seem to get up and fly every 10-20 minutes for no apparent reason. These birds were very skiddish, even our truck driving down the road from over a nile away seemed to flush them out. To answer your question, I would stay on the eastern side of the state, away from the restircted zones. You might have to go a little north, too, as the warmer weather is opening up a lot of the frozen water that we couldn't hunt when we got there. This was my first try at hunting snow geese. I can now say from expereince that it isn't very easy. Good luck in your hunt.
  19. Love the pictures....i hope to have a few upron my return from nebraska next week.
  20. Well said Tucker. I respect your opinion more than "most" of those in here.
  21. I'd like to take this back to the original problem - our vice pres. shot a man........I don't know about you guys, but I've been hunting for around 20 years now, and I have never, EVER shot without knowing these 3 things: 1. Where is your partner (if applicable). 2. Where is your dog (if applicable). 3. Is anything/anyone in your shooting path. If you can't answer any of the above questions, then you don't shoot....it's a pretty simple concept to follow, no? Dick Cheney is a perfect example of what happens when you don't pay attention when you have a loaded gun in your hand. Why couldn't he have gone hunting with Bush, anyway?
  22. Wow, those sounds like some good recipies, thanks guys. I checked out that website as well....and if I read the "taking" part properly, it means that you can use a shotgun without a plug in it. So between that, and no daily limit, my buddy and I may have to go buy a little more ammo. We are going on the 22nd and plan on returning home around the 26th-28th. The only thing I don't really understand about it are the "zones". I'm not at all familiar with any of the locations listed. The only thing we know for sure is that we will be in eastern Nebraska. And yes, there will be plenty of pictures to post. Thank you for all of your help guys, keep the advice coming, as I am a newbie. [ 02-11-2006, 11:19 PM: Message edited by: Likwid ]
  23. I'm heading to Nebraska in a week or two for a Snow Goose hunt. I heard that the limit is 25/person/day. Anyone have any good recipies for Snow Goose?
