And exactly how much coffee have you had to drink today, wing? I have a M4 Carbine in the safe as well, but I do live fairly close to neighbors. I would consider it if there was more than one person, but otherwise not. I'm sticking with the .45's

    home defense

I would very much agree with Wingbone on both the shotgun approach, practice drills and pistol defence. There is a growing problem in my area of crystal-meth use, and someone in the desperate throws of a meth binge will do literally anything. A problem that I face in my house is the layout itself. It doesn't really favor a long gun approach to defence. I have a pair of .45 Springfields that I would grab first. The design of these particular models is much like a Glock. These XD's I have hold 13+1 each, more than enough to stop an assailant. They are fairly light, ergonomically sound and quite accurate. I hope you or your wife never have to pull the trigger on someone, but if you do, have something in your hand you can depend on.....shotgun or otherwise.
  3. I was on the Cabela's website last night and they now offer Steady Grip stocks for M4's, SBE and SBE II. I believe the asking price was $149.99. Cabela's
  4. Tuck isn't cutting anyone down, he's replying to someone who should really keep their "special rights" to themselves, rather than come one here and seemingly brag about killing dozens of birds in a single weekend. Most of us have to play by the rules, and don't particularily want to hear about those who don't. And for me personally, I grow tired of hearing about the excessive numbers of birds taken. And as far as those gents from Canada.....you have no bag limits, good for you, shoot em up. But don't come on this forum, post pictures of your piles of birds, and expect people to be happy about it. By all means, do your thing guys....just don't be so blatant about it. The love of the sport seems to have diminished......is that not whay you guys hunt in the first place? By the way, if anyone is going to try talking facts with Tucker....good luck. Don't forget to bring your lunch and a box of tissue.
  5. I know exactly what you guys mean. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for conservation, but it seems that we are conserving here so that other states may shoot more. Luckily I'm right next door to Michigan, so I go over there and hunt, too.
  6. I read the manual on my buddies baby mojo and I believe it said 6-8 hours/charge. I expect that number to drop accordingly with the temperature, though.
  7. Tucker, Mudhen......you guys have an impressive amount of........intellectual restraint.......when dealing with people like that, and at the same time, it's quite entertaining. Thanks, fellas.
  8. Ah, so a little....liberal......game counting going on.
  9. Good question, Remy.....I was wondering the same thing. That averages 13+ a piece.....pretty good odds.
  10. Primos Dead Zone and Patternmasters, if you don't like the standard IC choke. Right now we are using Hevishot, but I hear good things about the Kent stuff that Tucker is referring to.
  11. Are those fully flocked deeks in the middle pic?
  12. I'm glad that someone is getting them. Our numbers are way down from past years. I haven't shot a bird since opening day.
  13. I just picked up some GHG Mallards, they do a pretty nice paint job on them.....hope I don't shoot them.

    Winchester Supreme 3 1/2". Hevishot for geese, 3 1/2" 4 shot, 1 5/8 oz.
  15. We took 4 opening morning. Not very many birds around, but hopefully the migs will be here soon. Saw a lot of ducks, though. A good number of teal and woodies. Good luck gents, and be careful.
  16. I have been out scouting the last few mornings and I'm a little disappointed thus far with the goose numbers. The biggest flock we have seen is approx. 20 honkers. We secured 2 areas of private land to hunt and found another 2 on public land that we'll jump on. Our early season opens this Friday.......getting anxious now.
  17. My better half is getting mad at me for having all of my gear laid out in a whole bedroom for around a month now. She says it's crazy....I say it's necessary to check the gear a few times before season starts.
  18. Some call it Cana-duhh for a reason...
  19. I always seem to go to the post office on the same day that all the senoirs get their social security checks, so I end up waiting in line for old Auntie Gertrude to buy her 7 stamps with exact change. This new deal sounds awesome, what states will be trying it out? When? TELL ME!!!
  20. Tuck, where do you find this stuff??? Hook a brother up!!
  21. 38 Days and counting.......
