  1. Seems like my dad used two spacers on a 391 Beretta a few years ago. That might work for the M-2 also.
  2. After shooting my Cordoba the first time, I noticed the next day some light rust at the end of the barrel. This was where I had grabbed it from the gun rack with my sweaty hands. I don't blame anybody but myself for that one. What I did do is learn that the matte black finish does need some care. And by "care", I mean a generous amount of oil applied to the exterior a few times to saturate the porous finish. My barrel has actually soaked up several coatings of Benelli oil. Now I can treat the gun like what most people would expect and not be worried that the exterior will rust within a day if I touch it.
  3. I say 26" of the two choices you offered. A 24" barrel would be even better, especially for turkey.
  4. Eric, Which shoulder is hurt? And, are you right or left handed?
  5. Fullbore, I looked at your site....no Benelli shotguns are listed
  6. Hogwild, Try www.gamalielshootingsupply.com I bought one last year when I bought my M-2 for $1050. They do a lot of mail order business.
  7. Landon, I've got a Supernova. The forend does rattle a little, but not nearly as much as the Nova. And yes, the comfortech does work. This is my first pump gun...been shooting O/U's and auto's for years. Since I bought a M-2 and was so impressed with the comfortech stock, I thought I would try the Supernova where I could adjust the stock to the exact dimensions of my M-2. The Nova stock doesn't adjust. I've practiced by shooting blackbirds at the dairy farm to the tune of about 200 shots....shot sporting clays yesterday. The trigger is a little hard which made me flinch/jerk about 5 times out of 150 shots (two 5-stands and one sporting round). I couldn't shoot it as good as the M-2, but that's expected with the pumping etc. The safety is in front of the trigger, just like your Beretta, so you would like that. And you would be able to adjust the stock so it fits. The gun comes apart so easy with no tools at all....nothing. I like it.
  8. I know you guys are going to think I'm pulling your leg but...... my dad called and actually tallked to Tom Knapp about his illegal Super 90. By illegal, I mean the gun was capable of holding 4 shells by floating one behind the magazine. Ol' Tommy promptly upgraded the bolt so that can no longer be done. Anyway, that's the story. What's the deal with cleaning the spring assembly out anyway? I've never had to do that. Are you guys exposing your guns to salt water or something?
  9. Wait......tngunlvr never mentioned "steady grip" and the M-2 I have does not have holes drilled in it! oh yea, can you feel it?
  10. Doooohhhhhh Gamalishitsiti is in KY...... my wife and sister drive by there on the way to work every day... she works on a farm.
  11. Mudhen, Gamaliel Shooing Supply has camo M-2's for $1050, not $1500. ****, I'm a noob and have already corrected you. Take that! tngunlvr, The M-2 is not drilled and tapped for scope. SBE-II is. But, why do you need a scope? Deer hunting with slugs?
  12. I bought a M-2, 24" barrel and liked it so much I went back and bought a Cordoba 30". Of course, the Cordoba, with the 6" longer barrel swings much smoother and the porting does help with follow up shots. The extended choke tubes are really nice while shooting Sporting Clays. Also, the fore end is much longer and thinner than the M-2, which helps when you have to "choke up" on those pesky rabbits. The 10 mm rib is also nice. One problem though..... I had to send off the Cordoba trigger to get the travel reduced somewhat. On some shots, since the gun is so light, I could see that I was moving/torqing the gun before the gun would fire. It seemed odd that I don't have any trouble at all with the M-2, but did with the Cordoba. Go figure. In retrospect, I should have just bought a 28" barrel for my M-2. I don't guess it matters if I shoot a camo gun at the range along with all those expensive O/U's. Sorta puts the pressure on them.
  13. tngunluver, You want the M-2 since it has the comfort tech stock.....especially if you are not interested in the 3.5 inch shells. I've had and traded off Benelli's without the comfort tech due to the beating I was taking. I don't duck hunt and shoot alot of heavy shells, but I shoot lots of game loads (just over 6,000 rounds per year) and the recoil was just too much w/o the comfort tech. I killed 4 gobblers and a coyote this past spring at 30,30,40,60, and 71 yards with the 1.5 oz. high velocity Hevi Shot #6's and shot several times at a pattern board without noticing excessive kick on my shoulder or any face slap. Of the Remingtons, Berretas, Brownings, and Franchi's that I've owned and shot in the past couple of years, the Benelli M-2 with a 24" barrel has got to be the most fun, none kicking shotgun I've shot. Also, I don't think you get the Criochoke system with the SBE I, I don't know for sure. I know, I know, the Criochoke system seems hard to prove, but since I've got mine, I've noticied the M-2 seems to be almost "forgiving". What I mean by that is on the shots inside 25 yards (at sporting clays) I'll put in the cylinder choke tube and can vary the shots significantly and still break the birds....and I don't mean 7 or 8 out of 10. I mean 10 for 10. There does not seem to be holes in the pattern like I'm used to at those distances with that choke/load combinations. On paper, the pattern looks the same, but I believe, after shooting it, that the shot cloud does indeed get to the target at the same time like their advertisment says. I'm not a registered sporting clays shooter (I like to keep my money), but I'm shooting right in there with the Master class and AA shooters that shoot at the club all the time and that's with a 24" barrel! I shoot that little gun as good as my 32" barrel Browning XS! Absolutely couldn't be happier. As far as the camo vs. synthetic goes, I would rather have the camo because it doesn't have to be wipped off. That's the only reason though. I looked up your residence....close to Memphis. Duck hunter?
