  1. i just contacted a sweeeet sounding lil lady that apparently co-owns the place and they are SOLD OUT! She stated that they didnt know they were banned untill they went to re-order on Monday and got the bad news..they missed out on alot of cash and you sir, got a great deal...now its time to step up and share your good fortune with your fellow Benelli forum brothers and pass that savings on to them..lol
  2. he has raised his price over $200 in 3 days...crazy but he must be sellin them or he wouldnt be raising the price..beauty of a free market society..it all depends on how bad you want it..i myself have mine already but no way id pay that for one.
  3. Id take the 707 version, more options to add things later that the 104 doesnt accept, ie the stock, etc..but either way you wont go wrong, just depends on what accessories you'd like to add later
  4. The tube is put on there with an epoxy on the threads and its almost impossible to remove w/o heating it. I tried heatin it with a hair dyer for like 20 mins but the temp just wouldnt rise enuff to loosen the epoxy. I bought a heat gun from Lowe's and after bout 6 mins of heating the tube on all sides while holding it with an oven glove, it loosened right up and came off..alot of epoxy was left in the threads on the reciever so i quickly threaded my new tube back on while it was melted and now my factory full length tube is a strong as the one from the factory was. Bottomline is you have to heat it and heat it enough to break it free but you best wear an oven glove or have someone help you hold it but once the epoxy is loose, nothin to it.
  5. Already a member of the NRA, already a member of the GOA (which i prefer 2-1). and im also thinking of joining the JPFO since i have several of their t-shirts, lol. Im well versed in how the political system works and i know this ban cant happen over night but i also know that when the anti's start this garbage we should immediately squash even the most unlikely attempt to ban anything. Some of you say now is not the time, its not gonna happen, etc etc..if i didnt know better id think i was back in 93-94...heard the same things then too!...interesting. One thing is for sure, i wont be caught with my pants down this time and i wont go down w/o a fight!
  6. you know Tuck, if i wasnt such a sweet, teddy bear of a guy, id almost take offense to your jab concerning the coherency of my post...it doesnt matter if the words were written in swahili, the message is still the same. thanks for the editing tho, maybe if i was as square headed as you were, i mean leveled headed as you were, i wouldnt be so filled with emotion and passion for my beliefs that i could take the time to properly format my posts so the teacher doesnt patronize me. Oh, and a question, does your jacket have leather patches on the elbows?...just curious. Mr Tom (got a bachelors degree in CJ but failed English according to Tuck) in TN
  7. You are absolutely right on many of your points, i actually thought of those as well..if someone jay walked and got a ticket the media would be all over it, BUT, there has to be some media outlets that are neutral and will portray us in a favorable light, as long as none of our 'commando' brethren in the ranks do no harm. The grass roots teaching idea is great but isnt that what we've been doing for yrs now?? It takes too long and its not high profile enough. We need a response,we need a STRONG response and opposition tho the mere thought of AWB II. Lastly, the politicians need to see that as gun owners, are many and we are strong and we will not be silent anymore. We need to show our strength by shear number and by our willingness to come together for a cause that affects us all. There have been other gatherings and marches that were anti-gun, anti 2nd ammendment and they got alot of coverage and caused some people in elected offices to vote their way. We need the same type response, to sway some of those same people back on our side and make them realize that their elected careers will be short lived if they go against us. as for the formatting, again, if it was an official letter to an agency or my rep, id have taken the time to do it properly but this is an informal discussion board and mistakes and grammatical oddities are forgiven (well, they are in other forums)..thanks
  8. ha, ever heard of being so upset and aggitated at gun owners that talk the talk but wont walk the walk that you dont care about formatting?? well that was me this a.m. and i didnt realize it was going to turn into a grammar lesson, next time ill also lay out an outline for ya to make it easier for you.
  9. Nearly 40 views and not one comment, well folks i got news for ya..they want your shotguns too, just read the bill for yourself and see the semi auto section, better yet go over to HCI (the brady bunch page) and check out her ludicrous comments concerning the 12 gauge and WWI..everyone can sit back and the next thing you know, you dont have a shotgun, a 22 or anything else...the time for letting your rep's know how you feel is NOW...
  10. on another pro gun website, the idea of a 'million Gun Owner March' has been tossed around, twhat follows is my view on that and current eventsconcerning us gun owners.....my post follows... Regarding the 'million gun owners march' proposal, if its legit, organized, well planned out and co-ordinated with every gun group and organization we can think of, id do it no matter when or where. Problem is, i dont want to travel somewhere only to find its been done with little effort and no-one is really there to support our cause. A situation such as that would do much more harm than good, it would make us appear, as uneducated, unorganized and unresponsive gun owners...it'd be a disaster. If it was done correctly and professionally, i think a huge statement could be made and would certainly grab some attention and headlines for our cause. Its about time we ALL did something like this besides sitting back on our keisters waiting for someone else to step up and take up our slack and fight our fight for us, GET INVOLVED IN THE FIGHT! Its time to put up or shut up, if you do nothing, dont ever complain or whine again about the state of affairs. As for those that summarily dismiss the idea b/c you have to work, you have church or your checkers club is meeting that day... for those people, HOW BOUT MAKING A STAND AND OFFERING SOMETHING TO THE CAUSE??!! I understand people have to work and have commitments and plans that cannot be broken, however, everyone could afford (hopefully) to miss 1-2 days work for such an important cause. If you cant afford a day or two off for something as important as our freedoms, our rights, our constitution, then damn, maybe you dont need to be a gun owner. Along with that right to keep and bear arms, comes some responsibilities! Im not trying to berate anyone, my point is this, its time to fight and its time to be heard and this could very well be the most important gathering (if it happens) in the history of gun ownership. This movement could be the turning point in the war on legally owned weapons, the turning point in the attack on law abiding citizens, the turning point in the attack on companies that make legal weapons products. PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANTLY, the turning point on the rights GUARANTEED us by our forefathers and given to us by every veteran that served and especially every veteran that died fighting for what he believed was a worthy cause, those causes being THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE, WITH FREEDOMS, WITH CHOICES, WITH THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS! This fight is going to be long, difficult and expensive in many ways but we all have to sacrifice and give it our all and our utmost attention. The 'anti's' are counting on us being too 'comfy' in our homes, in front of our tv's with our feet propped up saying 'i have too much to lose to get involved and my life is going just fine, let someone else do all the speaking out and take all the risks, im not going too' If you do nothing and we lose this fight, i hope you can look yourself in the mirror and your kids in the face and have a rational explanation as to why you did nothing while the very basis of our country is trampled on and dismantled by career politicians and those whom have a personal axe to grind. The U.S. is known as 'the land of the free and the home of the brave', if we stand by and do nothing, we'll be neither one of those things! Lets get up, get organized, get active, get out there and get our message out to the people that we are not the enemy, we are not the criminal element and we are not the ones to be pushed around any longer...please?! Tom in TN
  11. im tellin ya, in the summer when i bought mine, they only came with the one tube and i called and had my FFL from whom i purchased to call and was told that they were having problems with some of the choke tubes being left out of the boxes when they were packed. They also said they were working to correct the problem and they did! I had my 4 choke tubes in about 3 weeks, 2 were in packaging, plus the plastic container and 2 were JUST in the plastic container but all were new. they never once questioned me or even asked for a receipt..i was thrilled, and i bet if you called and were angry and demanded satisfation, you'd get it.
  12. preach it brother Fett !! that is a GREAT idea to sticky it somewhere for all to read. Altho the information is readily available on the web for anyone, it is scattered at best and STA combined and condensed the info and definitevly answered alot of questions and cleared up alot of misconceptions to those new to the M4..congrats and thanks STA. tom in tn
  13. clubster, you are gonna give up and sale your guns b/c the morons at ATF could'nt find their a** with both hands?? c'mon, just roll with it and put whatever you want on the gun, you cant get a straight answer from them, so who know whats right? You likely will never have a problem unless you take your gun into the ATF offices and ask for an explanation. Ive attempted to make my guns legal and they are but ill draw the line when it comes to jumping through ludicrous hoops to please some paper pushin govt geek official. After the debacle at Waco and other places the ATF should be disbanded anyways, they serve no real purpose and better prepared, smarter, agencies could pick up the lil bit of slack removing the ATF would leave. Just MHO..can you tell i despise them? lol
  14. GV00, i attempted to buy SOCOM guys tube and he and i were in touch several times, however he never had any tubes ready when he said he would and it was always me contacting him and i simply got tired of waiting and moved on after he didnt contact me last when he was supposed to. I know the tubes are of great quality but for value and continuity, i keep everything factory..factory tube is quite nice too altho expensive, i think its worth it
  15. STA, i knew all that but to condense it down, i basically said, that the 11707 version came with the skeletonozed stock, knowin full well that i had changed mine out from standard pistol grip to the adjustable, so it really is the only one that accepts the adj stock, but it didnt 'technically come with it. if that makes sense. as for the 1014 version, that and the 707 version are the two prevailing models eevryone is mot familiar with and those were the 2 the poster was mainly referring too, so mainly, thats what i addressed. thanks for all the info tho, i just dont type that much that well...lol
  16. i actually bought two M4's at the same time back in the summer, i bought two adjustable stocks for good measure and installed one stock and left one with pistol grip. I later bought the factory tubes and they were very expensive but well worth it considerin what the value will be later on...heres a pic of my two the day i bought them before i tacticooled them out...lol http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q285/bigdaddytom/DSC00563.jpg
  17. i like and respect uncle Ted but i still think Mr Z got or is getting what he deserves. Someone that was/is such a fighter for 2nd ammendment rights SHOULD KNOW BETTER than to make a moronic, blanket statement such as he made. Z's mea culpa was simply brought on by the outrage directed at him and his sponsors, otherwise can you think of any major event that would change his mind so drastically in those few hrs?? Exactly my point, it was a self serving attempt to save himself and by repeatedly mentioning injured veterans he was attempting to sway us with our sympathies towards injured veterans. Like i said before, this will serve as a 'crowbar' for sure, but a crowbar to show the other haters out there in our midst that we wont tolerate getting slammed in the media by one of our own. Thats the last ill say on this subject..thanks tom in tn
  18. that exactly what i did, got my 11707 with FACTORY full length tube, with ADJUSTABLE stock...can you say, sweeeeett??!!
  19. STA, you may not realize that there are TWO versions of the M4 shotgun, one is the 1014, it will continue to be sold to the public but it will not accept adjustable stocks, the the 11707 version is the military and police version that has now been restricted to the public, it has the adjustable stock..the mag tubes have already been restricted and price went thru the roof, but you will still be able to get an M4 , it just wont be with all the bells and whistles...you know how dangerous those adjustable stocks are!
  20. I see no irony in that. We deal with stereotypes based on assumption, daily. Here in Mr Z's case we can base our opinion on HIS WORDS. We can base our opinion on what he put out there willingly and knowingly for us to make our opinion, therefor i have ZERO regard for his appology or for gun owners welcoming him back into our open arms. members of a forum or group or club or anythign can make mistakes and spout off and call names and do all kinds of mean things, they can then make up and appologize and move on. The difference between the posters and Mr Z is that the posters didnt disgrace and insult the others on a national stage and cause irrepairable harm to them or their cause. Mr Z did! You will never have me to beleive his appology was sincere and heartfelt and if you think it is, tell me what life changing event happened in those hrs that gave him a vision and a change of heart?? exactly! his job and sponsors where on the line so he would've thrown his own mother to the wolves to save himself...again, good riddance
  21. I understand your view and your points have some credence, however, the fact remains the Mr Z put himself in this position and a man with such a long history of being the sportsman friend should've known better. We, as gun owners are in a critical hour and every battle counts and we cannot afford to allow someone masquerading as a 'friend of guns' get in a cheap and harmful shot w/o being accountable. I own 3 AR's and 3 AK's and i was deeply offended at his comments, as was many, many others judging by the response to his blog. So let this serve as a warning to any other wolves in sheeps clothing, there is no middle of the road, you are either with us 100% or against us 100%. You cannot pick and choose a gun to like or dislike or ban or not ban simply b/c of looks..period!
  22. The CS rep i spoke with was very angry about the ban and he directed his anger towards the ATF and told me repeatedly that i should contact my congressman, but he was as unhappy about it as i was. The military version of the M4 (11707) will no longer be sold to civilians according to him. The adjustable stock to fit the 11707 will no longer be sold to civilians according to him. I guess its much like the ban on the 2 shot extension, they are available for M&P but not civilians. I do not know what law/rule/ or reasoning the ATF is using to stop these sales but apparently its pretty effective. As far as what you have to add/remove to make your gun legal..im not really sure, the water is kinda muddy on that one, some say 2 US parts, some say 5, some say more, so i just dont know. I do know the entire thing is senseless ..what difference is there between a US made mag tube and an italian made mag tube?? aside from maybe quality...NOTHING!! so it makes alot of sense, but then again, i feel like the ATF is full of idiots anyways..
  23. I can get you one if my FFL still has them, unfortunately hes charging $365 pus $10 shipping (i think) and yes i know its high and i already have one but hes been selling them like they were going out of reach OH! wait, they are goin out of reach. Anyways, he had 3 a cpl days ago and had already sold over a dozen if i remember correctly and he runs the business out off his home, so if you need one that bad and want to pay that, let me know and ill try to square you away. 2 years from now those things will likely be $5-600..thanks tom
  24. Like the poster above this stated, Mr Z has been in the firearms and hunting business for along, long time and for him to be invited to 'learn' and then convert him to our side is indeed a far fetched idea. He only appologized to keep his sponsors and his job, that appolgy wasnt for real, it was done to attempt to tone down the torrent of bad press he was recieving. His statements were not borderline bad, not sitting on the fence b/c he didnt know anything about the guns, his statements were elitist and degrading to anyone that owns AR' or AK's and i took exception to it. Instead of us being forgiving and inviting him to learn b/c he didnt know, perhaps he should've learned before he spoke but i guarantee ya this, hes 'learned'now. As for us appearing to be 'intolerant hot heads', well, i am one when it comes to my freedoms. Us standing idly by expecting everything to turn out ok b/c we have faith in the system has gotten us where?? Perhaps its time for more of a 'hot head' response and shake things up a bit and see what happens, i doubt it will be much worse than the hellstorm thats rapidly approaching in 08. Again, i say good riddance and farewell to a loudmouth that hopefully will be unemployed very soon. tom in tn
