:confused:Any body got any advice on the best scope or optics for deer hunting with a fully rifled barrel and sabot slugs? Most shots 150 yds or less, average shot about 75yds.

I have to agree with ckruse OK so maybe not a recall, but at the very least quit making ****** up guns and putting them on the market when you know there is a problem with them! Hey if I get my I-12 back and it is fixed I may even buy the sporting version they came out with for 2008 I really like the way the I-12 fits me, even better than my SBE2, if it would just shoot like my SBE2 I would be happy!

:confused:This post is directed more toward Franchi owners, but I posted it here because I was curious as to what Benelli owners thought also. As I have said in previous post I have owned a few Benellis never had a problem with any except for the occasional hiccup to be expected. My brother bought one of the Franchi I-12s when they first came out about three years ago I loved the way the gun fit and felt, but he had cycling problems with it and got rid of it. I have a SBE2 camo that I use for hunting, but I have been wanting a non camo black synthetic gun for skeet and sporting clays. I was in Dicks one evening and saw a Franchi I-12 for $639.00 I said to myself surly by now three years later they must have worked the bugs out, they wouldn't still be selling I-12s that still have problems, well I thought wrong! I put over 500 rounds threw it and had the same cycling problems everyone else has had with this gun. I sent it back to Franchi its been gone about two weeks they said I should get it back in about four weeks. My point and question is this, first and foremost have they fixed the bugs in the newer I-12s or are they still putting brand new defective guns on the market? Second, if they knew there was a problem with this gun and they did, why did they not recall them ,fix them and then put them back on the market? I don't understand why they would put there reputation at risk. They may have saved a little in the short run, but I feel they have hurt themselves in the long run. Turkey forgive me if I am not understanding you, but were you trying to mount the sight directly on the vent rib?

There are some pretty good hunting opportunities here in SC, but I guess for upland hunting there are some great opportunities in Minnesota hey.

I have a SBE2 in MAX4 camo I got this gun when the SBE2s first hit the US market have shot thousands of rounds threw it and the only place the camo has come off is around where I hold it (the grip and forearm) I never had a problem with it "chipping off" just wearing off after a lot of use.

BTW the M4 with Low-power rounds, such as less-lethal rubber pellets, must be cycled manually. Not sure if you were aware of this. Also I believe the main reason they went with gas over inertia was because they were concerned over the mounting of accessories affecting the inertia operation of the gun.

If I may add my 2cents. Something that does not get brought up much is that the way you hold or shoulder an inertia operated gun can affect the operation of the gun. I had a buddy who bought an brand new SBE2 we went and shot it together for the first time and it would not cycle the second round for him every time he shot it. He asked me to try shooting it and to his amazement it worked fine for me every time I shot it. Then he shot my SBE2 and it did the same thing his did, it would not cycle the second shot. To shorten this we learned that it was the way he was holding the gun that made the difference, he was not holding it firm to his shoulder and that was the problem. Any one who doubts this try taking there inertia operated gun and shooting it while not having it firm against there shoulder it will jam every time.

Tucker hit the nail on the head you are paying for the value of what it can do, not how much it cost them to make it. A good example would be memory cards, put a 8MB SD card next to a 4GB SD card they are physically identical, but one can hold a lot more data than the other and you are going to pay for it.

Go to Lowe's in the electrical department they have conduit benders you should be able to bend the barrel down with it. Let me know how this works.
