  1. I have the opportunity to purchase this gun....it is in reasonably great condition with a nick in the walnut stock and a scratch in the barrel.....26" barrel....The owner purchased the gun for $1200 and is asking $800..Limited usage..Is this a fair asking price??
  2. I shoot 3" shells thru my SBEII at ducks and an occasional 3 1/2" bangers at late season geese....Just like the extra knockdown power late in the season.....
  3. Kicks modified is what I use,,,,,,,deadly.............
  4. ok, everybody.....I decided to shoot a couple more rounds today......This is what we did...We put an EZHIT sight on it and took the rear pin out...this really dropped the POI. the gunsmith explained to me that nobody looks at the rear bead anyways and most eye contact is with the bird.....I also shot from a bench..These are my results.....At, 35 yards, the pattern is now "dead center" with no holes..The best load I found that shoots thru my benelli SBEII is 3" #3.... There is alot of holes in the 3 1/2" shell...we also slowed the speed down, so no more "fast stuff".....No excuses for missing this year...... I did fire a 3 1/2" BB Winchester Expert for goose hunting....Good, but not great....
  5. Well, the test is complete....I found that the Kicks High Flyer Full Choke tube is partially the problem along with the gun not being shimmed for drop.....The best results I had was with my factory modified choke tube....It is still shooting alittle bit to the left and just a tad high....But, putting the modified tube in really made a difference...Guess I will just have to aim a tad lower...
  6. Before I started changing beads and such, I went down to the local gunsmith...Right away he said you need to use the drop shim...So, I put the "C" drop shim in and there was a noticeable difference..before, when I had the gun up, I saw to much barrel..But now, things seem to be right there...Now, the choke question...I notified Kicks about the High flyer Full Choke tube that I was shooting...they said I shouldn't have a pattern problem with shooting #2 steel, unless it was a bad tube...My factory tube i shoot what benelli recommends and that is the modified...I'm glad you guys give good advice....I grew up shooting an 870 all my life and hit had no shims and only one bead...I'll let ya know how the outcome is..........Thanks!!! Maybe I should tell Kicks to send me a modified in exchange for my full...
  7. That is it...I will try it.....Shooting from a bench and change to a bigger sight...........
  8. I have a Nova 20 gauge...Why is the end sight bigger on the Nova and so small on the SBEII... i would think they would be the same>>
  9. I was shooting from a sitting positon...after looking and shouldering the gun, maybe, just maybe it could be the sights???I'm really not use to the optic sight on the end of the barrel and then I have the small bead behind it...What if I took the optic sight off and replaced it with a regular bead, and took the other bead off...Then I would be only shooting and aiming off of one bead??
  10. I'm right handed and shoot that way....Shooting at ducks I normally shoot #2's, but if this is the case, maybe #4's would be better with a full choke.....Haven't touched the stock yet or shims...........
  11. OK, I'm stupid....I purchased this gun last year and never patterned it...Well, today I thru a couple of rounds in it just to see where i was at....the first load was a 3 1/2 winchester expert, 1 3/8 #2 at roughly 35 yards. Kicks Full choke Tube..Well, the load went high and to the left....Second load was a Federal 3" Speed Shok 1/1/4 #2 same choke tube...Wasn't much better....So, I changed Choke Tubes to the factory modified and tried the 3 1/2" incher again.. it was somewhat better and probably enough to bring the bird down...Any suggestions??? Should I slow the speed down, maybe?? It just was not a nice and tight pattern..Or should I continue to look for a shell that patterns well....
  12. looked at one at Cabelas for the first time....I'll stick with my SBEII.....
  13. Shoulder both, shoot both, Its a Benelli!!!!!!
  14. Matte Finished SBEII with a Kicks Choke.......
  15. I did a pattern test at 30 yards....I had more consistant hits at that yardage....Looked in to the Winchester extended range loads, but it was only 1 oz compared to Kents 1 1/4....Price wise, the Kents I paid $8.00 for 10 shots and Winchesters was 3 times that for 10 shots....I figured if I can get him within 25 yards, should be able to drop him.... The Kent loads are Turkey Loads and are called Ultimate Diamond Shot...Guess we will find out this week......
  16. I've decided this year I was going to try it.....Shooting a Nova, with an Undertaker tube, Kent Diamond 3" 1 1/4 #5...Did a pattern test at 40 yards..7 pellets in the head and neck area.....Is 40 to far??? Should I try maybe 30???
  17. How do you post pictures????????????????/
  18. I slightly broke my SBEII on the dove and quail loads, then switching to 3" shells and then to 3 1/2" bangers and had one "hiccup" which was a stove pipe with a 3 1/2" federal low brass...I blame that on a goofy over the head shot and the gun was not tightly against my shoulder....other than that, no problems..........
  19. Jeff Foiles had a problem with this...He uses alot of bandaids.........

    Model Number

Never thought of that, checking my SBEII box and registration card..Had all the info in my hardcase...According to that, SBEII is the Model Number...So, I guess Nova would be also.....
