Take Care of it and it will last a lifetime.....One of the easiest guns to clean that I have ever owned.....SBEII
-
I was watching a show on the military channel and they were doing a study on weapons and believe it or not, the shotgun slug ranked second behind the 50 caliber in knockdown power,,,

I do alot of pass shooting on ducks and geese, with a few decoy shots....Seems like everyone is into the extended choke tube thing. Anyone have a preference or what works best?? I shoot pretty much 3" #2 or #3s for ducks early in the season and then switch to the 3 1/2 inchers..Geese late season I use either BB or BBB in 3 1/2. I shoot the modified factory in my SBEII.

Usually by this time of year, I start to get into the mode of things..Going to get the boat out, change the oil in the go-devil, and take it out to the lake I hunt on..
-
At least the SBEII got a good work out.... I took 2 birds this season here in WI.. Great season!!

I'm a box call user all the way....When the birds are on the roost and gobbling, I give a couple of soft yelps to let the birds know that i am there....I don't get call happy and yelp every hour with a series of a boss hen... If I have gobblers on the way, I keep them interested and then I clam up when they see the decoy.... Very useful during windy days

As Phil Robertson says, Boom, Boom, Boom......That is my SBEII

I was tossing between a SBEII and a Browning Silver last year. They both felt the same and the recoil thing was really I thought was all hype..Most impressed by how light the SBEII was. So, I bought one..Not at all disappointed......

I was up at Scheels today looking over guns.. Why is the Cordoba more expensive than the SBEII. you would think vice versa. Just curious.. The SBEII was $1360 and the Cordoba was $1500..

Before I bought my SBEII, I shoulder the Browning Silver and onced owned the SX2. The SX2 , I used it only for waterfowl hunting and I will say this, it did not perform well at all. The Browning Silver, I was ready to purchase this gun, until a friend of mine convinced me to buy the SBEII and use it strictly for waterfowling hunting, which I did and don't even regret it. Buy a Remington Super Mag.

Might try the Franchi 912. Light weight, vario max system. Had no problems with it, but couldn't handle the light loads. I thought it was a great gun for the money. Paid $525.00

Which better for SBE2 - Patternmaster or Kicks?
DU4ME2 replied to HonkWilliams's topic in Waterfowling
Friend of mine has a patternmaster in his SBEII. From what I've seen, it is worth the money. He shoots BBB's for geese and #2 for ducks thru his. Don't shoot black cloud though. I haven't bought one for my SBEII just yet. Doing ok with the factory tubes. -
I had a SX2 and it was junk!! I had problems with it in the cold and wet weather, but since I bought a SBEII, no problems. Spend the extra cash, and go with the SBEII.

I surely broke my new SBEII to the elements of Wisconsin this year, rain, drizzle, snow storm. No rust on my Benelli.

Is the shell feed all the way down?Where you located??

My SBEII did the same thing over the weekend. I switch over to the 3 1/2 Federal Speed Shok and the first two rounds cycled fine, but the third did the exact samething as you discribed. I put a few drops of lube in, but will definitely try some different ammo. Guess I might switch over to the Winchesters, or remingtons.
-
What I did with my SBEII, is I took it out back and shot some dove and quail loads through it first. For the duck opener, I've been shooting 3 inch Federal Speed Shok, #3. now, i will switch over to 3 1/2" Remington Sportsmans #3. Hasn't missed a beat!! Like Tucker said, i think the break in period is over rated and shoot the loads it was designed to shoot.

Haven't noticed with my sbeII. First year with it for ducks. Not use to the back bead. Had a Winchester SX2 and that had one heck of a slope and I thought that shot high.

One of the best guns I every owned is still in my gun cabinet and that is my 870. The gun I use for turkeys is my 870 supermag. But for waterfowl, I recently purchased the SBEII. I use to hunt geese with the supermag, but it acted up in cold weather, so I went with the semi auto.

I use only 3 or 3 1/2" 2's in Winchester Experts or Federals on ducks. BB's or BBB's for late season honkers. I don't mess with the heavy shot stuff.

I am from East Central Wisconsin. I sit in front of my window and wait for it to snow. I also milk my herd of cows(on my stool) and eat plenty of cheese.

That is to hilarious! Talk about recoil.

I found that an improved-modified works good for steel in my guns.
