I shoot a 20 Nova, Rhino 575, Nitro 457s. I can put 194 pellets in the ever-so magical 10" circle at a measured 40 yds. I misjudged 1 bird & shot him at 55 yds. as dead as a 30 yd. shot. A 20 ga. will kill a turkey as far & as dead as a 12 ga.

If its a turkey nova,( not all 24 inch Novas are turkey guns) than it will be drilled and tapped for a rail. To see for sure, just look and see if there are four screws on the top of the receiver.

I've heard of guys having gunsmiths shorten barrels...If it were me I'd either keep the one you have and buy a tactical Nova, or sell yours and buy a short one. I think you'd be money ahead.
I agree. You will have better luck finding a new tactical nova than just a barrel.

Yes mainly home defense. I got a magazine extension and a shell sleeve. Thinking of maybe adding a light in the future. Need to find a good cleaning kit, BassPro Shops ? Less than 24 hrs away and my baby is here ! I'll post some pics.
When you get into home defence, ammo is a personal. Many people say birdshot isn't enough for HD(this is what I use), and many say bird shot will do fine. You want to chose the most stopping power that your comfortable with.

This Wednesday I pick up my BRAND NEW BENELLI NOVA TACTICAL ! This is not only my first Benelli buts its my first shotgun ! No more borrowing !
Got it from Mr. Jerry Dove of Dove Guns WV ! Great deal ! Any tips ? Im thinking of starting off with3" MAGs, what say ye ? Any tips for a first time Benelli owner anyone ?Good choice on brand. Benelli shotguns are the best.
As far as tips, what are you doing with the shotgun? Home defence, 3 gun, ranch gun, etc.
The tips I have:
- Take apart the gun and clean it well and get to know your new shotgun.
- Get a limbsavers pad
- Take it to the patterning board
- Enjoy your new toy

Why are you bothered by my chair? Come on Novaking -- you push a button, sip your suds, watch TV, read all the entertaining informational **** on this forum, and all the time you are getting a massage from your chair. Feels great. That ain't gay dude, it's HEAVEN. Wake up and smell the coffee. Hetros can enjoy crap like this as well as the other kind. Relational activities with the significant other is also great in this local !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give it a try... you gonna' like!

i have a 40 year old 870 that works like a charm and i was wondering is there a noticable differance in performance to the nova and super nova
Most likely nothing. That 40 year old 870 is slicker than any nova out there. I would watch the high pressure loads in the 870 though. Nova's you don't have to worry as much.

Something bugs me, maybe because I grew up on a large piece of land, but where did you interact with chics in any *meaningful way* before you got a car? For me, getting a car was what opened to door to the ladies.

Sorry for my absence, but in this case, I decided that silence was the best thing. I've been enjoying sitting in my vibrating easy chair every evening, sipping a refreshing beverage, and laughing my hinie off, looking at you guys doing your thing on this thread. AND... I've been busy just today with a PM reply to the young VINCIshooter which he had just sent today. I was NOT kind... I was firm and told it like I thought it was. I really think he blames me for all this. (I think that he feels like it couldn't have been HIS fault that all this is happening). It all probably fell on deaf ears, just like all the other GOOD advice you guys are trying to pump into his head.
I guess I have come to be concerned about the young man's future. He has great enthusiasm, good shotgun knowledge, and a deep "love" for shotguns but I think someone should try to talk some sense to him. He is really hung up on the "tools of the shotgunning trade" at a time in his life when I really think he needs to be more concerned with the tools for LIFE... like knowledge of the English language, spelling, punctuation, and most probably passing grades. He will need these tools and many others to succeed in life, perhaps go to college or a trade school, and communicate with the adult world. Wonder if he has discovered girls yet?... when I was 14, they were a LOT more fun than shotguns! Anyhow, we all have beat his ears back pretty good (not sure he realized that?), but I do worry about his future... (even though he was ugly to me on this thread).
Hope he comes around (and QUITS "opinion" postings on every stinkin' thread!) Enough is enough. Just my opinion. I did suggest that he LISTEN more and TALK less.
Thats what I thought you were doing. The chair thing bothers me a bit. But other than that, great advice.

Dont get your panties in a knot they did this to me at first and like you i was defensive at first i said i was left handed so i couldent spell then i tried to tell them i was always drunk so i couldent spell , i dont think they bought that either so now i think they just put up with me because i think they know i respect most of their opinions . just know when you get defensive they will always throw your age back at you because they know it really bothers you,so take the critisizum with a grain of salt and if you do some day you will earn their respect , and never forgit when you ask an opinion you will get good and bad replies take both and learn Grashoper and fore anyone that still dosent like my spelling or grammer piss off im trying, but i have my drink in my left hand

Here is IL we can only have 1 turkey tag per season. (max of 2 total per year.) So an auto wouldn't help any.
For Skeet, I have broke 23/25 with my nova, but not all the time. So I auto would be great for the game.
For dove, The limit is 15 per day. I shoot a box of shells or less every time I go out. Auto would be nice but I haven't passed up a whole lot of shots.
If you want one. Get it. You won't be sorry. If you don't, Your nova will treat you well.
