  1. Hi guys,

This is my first post and I figured this would be the place to come.I bought a Supernova Tactical Pistol grip and have a few questions that I am hoping you all can help. They are:

    1) What shells do you recomend for home defense?

    2) I would like to add a side saddle, what do you all recomend?

    3) I would also like to add a tactical light, again looking for recomendations.

Thanks in advance and I am looking foward to all your replies and comments!

    Question 1 :

where do you live. Apartment, country, etc.? You have family in the ''house'' with you? Where are they in the house? Are they in the next room? downstairs? What Is your exteror walls? Brick? etc. This has a impact on the ammo you chose for HD.

  2. New guy here....first shotgun. I just bought a SuperNova.

Why does the full choke (and I think one other) say 'no steel shot'? I thought most shells used steel now....

    Am I just confused?

the full choke is to constricted for steel. Steel shot is harder than lead so it may blow the choke out of the barrel.

Modified is fine for most game. If you want a full choke that shoots steel they are many aftermarket choke available.

  3. Amen, Novaking. I have the Monty Silver and one of my hunting buddies has the Legacy. EVERYONE thinks mine is a more attractive gun. (Sure tees him off!) We both hunt quail/dove and shoot 20s. And... mine is lighter... a nice feature in the field.

I like the monty. If and when I get a auto, The monty WILL be my next choice.

  4. Fellas, I am looking at buying my first Benelli this summer. I am looking at a 30in.Legacy Sport. I will be using it primarly for trap, and Dove hunting and some duck hunting in the future hopefully. I want the look of a wood shotgun so that limits me, but what do you guys think of this choice?

good choice. You could check out the monty silver. Nice looking gun and a bit cheaper. www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli_montefeltro.php

  5. Doesn't just about every manufacture have a ''junk" company? I think all about market. Some people can't afford ''high end'' shotguns or they don't use there shotguns as much as others. So stoeger answers that. Weather they do it right or not, is another story. Just my 2 cents

  6. I would recommend extended AND ported. Briley's claims that it reduces recoil (a slight amount) and... it looks even "cooler" (if that is our measure of decision). Look at Briley.com

yeah Briley is cool. But do they have one of these. ;)

  7. I bought a primos dead deer for a Black Eagle to install on my Franchi Diamond 112 26" 12 ga. It fit perfectly. When I tried to install it on my M2 24", it will not fit. Are they not compatible? I want a Jellyhead for spring turkey season for the M2, but they're also listed for the Black Eagle, not specifically for the M2. Will the Jellyhead fit the M2?

    Thanks

    Tom

The M2 has Crio chokes, not the same as the old Beretta/Benelli mobol choke system.

  8. If memory serves me correctly, you have to hold it in until the action has moved a bit, then you can release it. It doesn't lock. Having it do that would increase the chances of having it accidentally pressed and having the action open when not wanted.

Tucker is right. Hold it for the first half inch or so.

  9. I am considering getting a few extended choke tubes for use in my SBE II in the clay game applications. I own some briley choke tubes I use in an old 11-87 and have no complaints about these. But I have also read that some seem like the Comp-n-Choke choke tubes in a Benelli. I am curious what others are using and whether or not they like/prefer what they are using relative to, say, the flush factory tubes.

these are great chokes. I use them for skeet and hunting.

  10. Does anyone know why the big difference in pellet count for test pattering between the SBE II and the SuperNova - On the Nitro website the SBE II shows 280-320 whereas the SN only shows 230-270 - I have the SN and was hoping some modification would get me in to the higher pellet count - i am currently in the high 230s with just the Rhino .660 choke with not other modifications

What are you shooting at what distance?
