  1. ..."This lets you see what you are shooting better..." nice reply and we thank you Novaking, but after 40+ years of shooting, I HAVE to see that target ON my barrel, not above it... I'm just too old to adjust. What did you think of my extra shim-add idea to try and drop the stock? (look back up in the thread to "Monty Question). Nobody is helping here. What is your opinion? It has been my experience this forum that any kind of forward thinking becomes ignored on the forum. Even the "crusty" kick-a** dudes don't respond. Tell me I'm an idiot or to try it... whatever. Old dudes and new ideas don't often mix, I guess?

I think Mudhen did something like that or told someone to grind 2 shims down and put them together. I would pm him and see.

I like longer barrels for dove and waterfowl, and I like shorter barrels for upland and turkey

  2. Thats funny, my wife had the same idea about putting shims together but she suggested the "C" and "A" or any combination that worked. The only problem I see is we would have to make a new metal piece that goes in the stock. I just happened to work at a blacksmith shop and may try it. I can't find anything about an "E" shim so may have to do something.

As for the choke issue, if you'll notice in my first post I was shooting at 40 yds. I shot a duck and when the bb's hit the water it looked like a full choke. A guy on Hunting.Net suggested a cylinder choke. I had never heard of one until now and looked on Midway USA and found one. It's about $20 so I may get one and try it. Only other thing I can think to do is shorten the barrel and I would rather not do that. Another guy directed me to some shells called spreaders and I have never heard of them either.

If I can get my barrel dropped I think it will help me tremendously, but I do think I need a wider pattern. I e-mailed Benelli and waiting for a reply. May never get one but it's worth a shot. I may have to call them..

Thanks again, and I will figure out something if I have to take my Remington youth model hunting. Nothing more aggrevating than missing a bunch of birds....

Shorting the barrel will do nothing for you. Barrel length has nothing to do with patterning of a shotgun. Your on the right track with chokes. Cylinder choke will give you the most open pattern. I think IC like PRO said will do just fine. Some one said patterning board. Excellent idea! Benelli's shoot a bit higher then american guns. This lets you see what you are shooting at better.

  3. Thanks, leftie! Appreciate that very much as a member of the "unpopular" war.

Man, old and Unpopular. Get your posts up to about 5000 and we will call you tucker Jr. or the II. Which ever you want.;)

  4. Be sure and add something to the effect that all of the above still won't get you better than a 50% success rate.

Your success rate of getting people to agree with you is way less than 50%. Maybe we should start a thread about you!

  5. I have tried to be more slow and deliberate with my stroke. I am using 3 1/2" shells and the empty shell never jams, it flies out and the new shell loads up in the chamber just fine. I would think a short stroke would jam up the empty long shell.

I think something in the trigger mechanism is not fully re-cocked, but I'm no gunsmith just a goffy goose hunter.

Nova's will eject the shell out even if you short stoke the gun. It sounds like your fully stoking the gun because the new round comes up from the mag. tube.

  6. Yes, but it may not be so in the minds of others.

Someone, somewhere is responsible for whatever went wrong.

The purchaser believes it is the fault of the maker. The maker, without the luxury of inspection, has agreed with him.

There's nothing wrong with a founded accusation and laying blame where blame belongs. Nothing wrong with owning up to a mistake.

I'll agree with that. Look at the second picture.( the bad one) It looks cross theaded to me. I'm trying to figure out where the blame belongs to.

  7. I didn't see in his original post where he made any sort of personal attack on Dave, just his product.

When someone makes a product, and that product is attacked by saying its garbage, that is personal attack in my mind.

  8. So I have two M4s.

    Both needed extensions.

I ordered two DMW +2s from MidwayUSA.

    One fits, one doesn't.

How is that for quality control?

I mean, these are threaded tubes people!

    $70 threaded tubes!!!

    The good:

    dmwgoodla6.jpg

The bad, the collar doesn't thread onto the OEM tube completely, leaving threads exposed:

So, anybody got a benelli OEM +2 for sale?

    maybe its cross theaded

  9. Is there anyone that can tell me anything good or bad about the m2 20 gauge for Turkeys. I am thinking about purchasing one but was looking for some info. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you want to know about 20 gauge for turkeys or the m2?

Both will be fine out to 40 yards with hevi shot type loads.

  10. My first report came from another forum, from an individual who was driving by and saw the flames.

I then used Google news search to find the article.

Then I e-mailed one of the good people at Benelli and asked them if they were alright.

I have no affiliation or special relationship with Benelli.

    I simply like their shotguns.

That being said, I'd have no qualms with them sending me one of the new Vinci models for an extensive and objective review :D

If you have no ''special relationships" with benelli, than how do you know one of the ''good people'' at benelli.
