  1. Forget crio.

    Forget Comfortech.

    Those are marketing gimmicks.

Fact is, the Benellis are made of better materials, better engineered, assembled with more care, and perform better.

    Look at this way:

    Stoeger = GM

    Benelli = Honda

    Isn't Honda out selling GM.

  2. I have the M2 and I was wondering which choke would work best for buckshot? Someone mentioned that I might want to use a full choke... I've never used buckshot before, only slugs, so I don't know the first thing about buckshot.

    Any help is much appreciated!

start with cylinder and work your way forward.

  3. The plug is there because any time you hunt waterfowl or other migratory birds, Federal law dictates you must have your magazine plugged so the gun cannot accept more than 3 shells.

Not sure exactly how to remove the plug from a Benelli, but as far as I know, all guns with a tube magazine have a way to remove the plug.

Also, MAKE SURE your range allows you to load more than one shell at a time. Most don't.

What Tim said plus your State might make you hunt with your plug for everything. Or maybe that rule is only in the great state of Illinois :(

  4. Great weekend in Western Kansas with 7 friends.

Hunted last Thursday afternoon, all day Friday, all day Saturday, and half day Sunday morning near Ness City, Kansas.

ALMOST got a double bag limit of pheasant and bobwhite quail on Friday. Got 4 rooster pheasants and 6 quail. The limits in Kansas are 4 an 8, respectively.

Between the 8 of us, we bagged 41 roosters and 10 or 15 quail (we backed off the quail to make sure we left plenty for the landowner's son to hunt them.)

I gotta tell you, the sound of a rooster pheasant cackling, or a pheasant flush, or a bobwhite flush gives me SUCH a rush!

MAN!!!! There is not that many pheasants in all of Illinois. I still go though. I get only maybe 2 birds all season. Good for you.

  5. I love how easy the people that read my post understand it yet some of you are still lost. The Benelli tube is stated as a +2 but when using 2 3/4" shells you can get 7 in the magazine plus the one in the chamber which equals a total of eight. Just like the M2 tube when used on the SN is listed as a +1 but brings up magazine capacity to 6 when using the same 2 3/4" shells. And arizona98tj the normal capacity of a SN tactical is 4+1.

I though that is what you said.

  6. You said you get 3 rounds in the extension, which would make it 8+1. A 2 round extension gives 7+1, which is what you are claiming you get?

I'm a little lost to. I read the whole thread. Did cody say 8+1? I don't think he did. You said that 7+1 would work. isn't that what he said?

  7. Where can I find a video about disassembling my benelli nova.

    Are you having trouble?

    1. close bolt

    2. unscrew barrel cap

    3. open bolt half way

    4. take barrel off

    5. close bolt

6 use barrel cap to push out receiver pins (2 pins in the middle of the receiver)

    7. pull out trigger housing.

8.holding the bolt, turn gun up (like normal), pull out the pump forend.

    9. press the rotary bolt together to work out the bolt.

    10. press out firing pin PIN. ( pin in the back of the bolt.)

    11. remove firing pin and spring.

    DONE.

If you don't understand this, PM me if you need anything else. This is the best gun I've every seen to field strip.

  8. Hello all..I am getting a new Benelli and would appreciate any suggestions. I will mostly be sooting trap and skeet buit possibly do some duck hunting with it. Which model

(12 ga) would be best? The super black eagle II, M2, or super sport? I want a semi auto; no pumps. Any help or opinions would be appreciated. I currently shoot a Browning Super Gold. Thanks again

I would say the Cordoba because you said you might duck hunt. The Cordoba is the same as the supersport for hte most part.

  9. On a note about cops/ military being bad shots, control of your emotions has alot to do with accuracy. A man could be a expert at the range and still be worthless in a emergency.

I agree. They don't train under pressure. really no one can train under that kind of pressure.

  10. Just ordered one, now I'm looking for accessories and other things.

1.) Is there anyway to add a choke to a smoothie?

2.) Tub extensions, I've seen them extend bass the barrel how does this work. What the max on this gun, with or with out the plug.

3.) Should I add a red dot? I did like the look on my other gun maybe not bad on the shotgun. Is it real benefit or more just in case you need it?

    4.) The 3 1/2 00 is better than the 3 1/2 000 for home defense.

5.) Steel shot, fs shot or lead.

I looking to see what other people use it doesn't have to be the best just proven.

    Why 3 1/2?

  11. I am having trouble with my early 90's m1s90 cycling my shells. I had it professionally cleaned and it has improved. The smith reccomended I replace the original cycling tube with a stainless one.( i hunt ducks in the salt). i have seen one from srm. Is it worth it? ($150) and does Benelli make one out of stainless?

I don't know for sure but I heard Wolf makes springs for the m1's

  12. First of all..congrats. I own the same weapon. Now, due to the fact that this is a smoothbore, Im not sure why you would even be concerned about chokes. They do not come with any choke system that I know of. Most people seem to use the SN tactical for home defense purposes, practically speaking. Either way, if you must "choke" it, research the "vangcomp" system. From what I hear, this is a very effective system. However, due to the need for de-chroming and re-chroming the Benelli barrel, it can be fairly expensive. Below is a link just in case you are interested. Also, unless I am mistaken, Sabots are mainly for "rifled" barrels. A rifled slug is what you will need for optimal accuracy when firing out of a smoothbore shotgun. In terms of the 3" ammo, according to the Benelli manual, the SuperNova tactical will hold (minus plug) 4 - 2 3/4" or 3" shells and 3- 3.5" shells. The good thing about a smoothbore is that it will fire just about anything. The bad thing about a smoothbore is that, particularly with a shorter barrel, you will be limiting the effective range of the weapon.

Is the 18 tactical barrel a fixed choke? If yes than you will only get a turkey if its tied to a tree. Cylinder choke will get you a great at 20 yard pattern with turkey loads. A good turkey gun needs to pattern out 40 yards or more.

Otherwise. the 18' barrel would be great.

  13. Cops and military personel that cannot shoot are simply a disgrace to the uniform they wear. I can't understand people go into the military or LE and do not take care to hone their shooting skills. It just does not make sense to me.

Duggan, I could not agree with you more that there are many cops and military men/women who are a complete joke when it comes to firearms skills. Sad, really sad.

I agree with that as well.

  14. You are correct in general I can agree with your assessment, consider the fact that some of us who opined may have been the type that actually served in the capacity of either a police officer or military person.

You can never judge a book by it's cover.

Three months ago in are town there was a homeless man that slept in his car. There is no law saying you can't do this. But he was parked buy a curb next to a hydrate. It was next to a park where there a "thing" going on. (I don't know what it was.) Three cops were going buy, they stopped to ask him to move his car. In pulled a gun. The officers shot 23 times and the man went to the hosital. The man had a 5 shot snubby. he killed 2 and almost killed the other. They said he had one round left.

Sorry, Cops don't train the way they need to. Nobody can. Nobody know what in going to happen. Like Noob said "have a plan". work on it. That is all of can do.

Same with military, I've never been in but from all the storys my friend as told me, there hasn't been any storys of him lieing in bed with his wife and his kids in the other room and the Turbinatior is standing at his bed side. The military also "clears" rooms with more than one person. As anyone here had to clear a room by yourself under pressure? REAL PRESSURE. What if they know that you are trying to clear a room. I'm 99% sure you will lose that battle. Can it be done. YES. Why would you do it? If a family member is missing. Then you go get them.

I'm not knocking Cops or Military. With out them we would be screwed.
