1. Yes it`s correct, first take off the magazine spring retainer, slide the limiter with the limiter guide ring in the tube and plug in the spring retainer. From my picture above, the little ring about 3/4 of length on the limiter is to preventing the limiter guide ring to go too far back.
2. Hi there..my 2 round limiter looks like this, if it could help you making one. It was inside the magazine tube when I received my new S90M4.
3. I tried to make a reconstruction of your jamming problem. I`m glad that your M4 is good to go, too.
4. I mean scratches in the receiver from the jammed locking head. It would be great to know where exactly the bolt locking head was....I have tried to jam my M4 in the same way, but I don`t success.
5. Can you post some pics of the dents where the locking head jammed inside the receiver?
6. When the bolt link is stuck above or under the recoil spring plunger in the back of the receiver, the bolt would not be in the open position..it would not be able to retract. Just ship it to Benelli before you ruin your M4..it will also void warranty if you are removing the recoil tube.
7. Are you able to move the 057J "shell stop/bolt release button" fully down so it disconnects from the bolt? When not, the bolt is mostly jammed on the release button...try to pull the bolt back by the handle and in the same time push the bolt release button, -or while your trigger group is already off- just push the backside of this bolt release inside the receiver so you squeese down the 058J shell stop spring...i believe the bolt release is jamming the bolt. But if you can move the bolt release button fully down and visually disconnect it from the bolt without the bolt comes out, then you have a nasty jamming problem inside the recoil tube. The 057J shell stop/bolt release will normally move freely without the trigger group assembled.
8. I have already placed an order of a couple of them from Brownells, it will take a little time to receive this on a backorder. I think that the rubber grip on my gun will last to then....but many thanks anyway.
9. I have a little crack in the rubber on the pistolgrip on my M4 Super 90 telescoping stock...it could grow larger by time of use, and is there any easy way to take off the old rubber grip from the pistolgrip and replace a new one? Where can I buy a new rubber grip for this pistolgrip? It must be a shop who takes international orders. If not, I have to buy a whole new telescoping stock set...and that would cost me more.
10. The major difference to the Benelli Super 90 M4 which are sold in the rest of the world, and the american M4 model 117** law enforcement/tactical civilian market, is that the Super 90 M4 has only a 2 position collapsible recoil tube, it has no USA markings on the left side on the receiver, no M4 label under the ejection port, and has got a full length magazine tube from the factory with a collapsible stock. There is also a Super 90 M4 14" version in the same configuration, but with the shorter magazine tube to accomplish with the short barrel. The american M4 entry model is virtually the same, but it is a 11707 with a 14" barrel, it has a 3 position recoil tube and a telescopic stock, which is only sold to US law enforcement agencies from Benelli USA.
11. Take a look what the russians are equipping on their M4`s...it`s a russian forum, just click on the page numbers and watch the pics..if you can`t read. http://talks.guns.ru/forummessage/60/000031.html
12. Aimpoint Micro T-1 would be my choice....it is small and looks really good on a M4. Take a look at the aimpoint website, and click on product finder...it will always guide you to a Micro T-1 if you have a military autoloader.
13. Hello there:) I`m not a US citizen..I live in a country where gunowners can buy a original 100% imported Benelli M4 with a full length magazine tube and a telescoping stock directly from Italy. It must be devastating for all of you to go around with american made aftermarked swap parts on this gun, just to make it like the real M4... It does not make sense at all to ban a M4 just for being fully Italian, when the same weapon feature legally can be owned, but just if some american aftermarket parts are attached on it. I cannot see the logic of this law. Is this gun evil and dangerous for civilian persons just for having "Italy" only stamped on the receiver? What must other laws be like?
14. Can I put 7 non magnum rounds in a original full length Benelli M4 magazine tube? www.benelli.it claims in the PDF downloadable catalogue that you can put 7 rounds of shotshell ammo with less than 58 millimiter of length in the tube, and 6 rounds of magnum type. I use Rottweil Brennecke slug shotshells with 59 millimiter length..they are a bit longer. Would it go with 7 rounds in the original military version (european market) Super 90 M4, with full length magazine tube without binding or damaging the magazine spring?
15. Hello, yesterday I was inspecting my M4, and saw that the recoil spring looks rusty..I have never stored the gun somewhere moisty..so can it be rust, or is it just Benellis factory pre-rusting procedure on some metals before shipping?
16. Well, in aviation there is a term called DLL (design limit load) which is 1.0 of a certain stress load that the airframe must hold to keep the same shape to metal and contruction. The metal will reset back to normal shape without deforming permanently after the stress is gone, a DPL (design proof load) which is 1.25 of a certain stress load is a load which the airframe must hold to keep the same shape and reset back to normal shape without deforming permanently, at last is the DUL (design ultimate load) which is 1.5 in what the airframe must tollerate to keep without failing or cracking until the next inspection and service, but the structure will be permanently deformed by DUL 1.5. Stress is bended shape divided through normal shape. Stress is caused by torsion, bending load and also pressure. The information is printed in a book called "airframes and systems" in the Air Transport Pilots License series of books. Benelli factory are testing every gun with maybe 1.25 design proof load before shipping. I do not believe that 100 rounds of slugs in a full choke would ever go near 1.25 DPL.
17. If you used american foster slugs which are hollow inside like Remington, Winchester etc..there is no chance in overstressing or overbursting your firearm. Remington and other producers claim that you can fire their slugs trough every choke, also full chokes as well. Rifling on slugs are made to deform to fit the bore in every choke and they are hollow inside as well to do the same fitting job. Rottweil Brennecke slugs however, are made of harder lead than american foster slugs, but they do deform, too
18. Wow..what do you want with that?? Birdhunting..smallgames..editing mountains and landscapes? I got my Benelli M4 license from the Police in my country for hunting "Wildschweine" with slugs (wild porks) in plain english. It has got a 2 round limiter inside the long magazine tube to meet the hunting regulations in my world..so...hmmm..
19. Ok..thankyou for answer. My Benelli M4 came from the factory with the fully moveable telescopic stock and a full length magazine tube..it is the non 1014 version and has no american flag on the right receiver. There is only a stamp mark on the left side "12 Ga. M4 Benelli Italy". Because of the strict gunlaws in my country, the gunshop had to screw on a fixed stock before they sent me this firearm along with the telescopic stock i the same box. Therfore I had no clue by removing the fixed stock.
20. Hello, I am a european user of a Benelli M4 shotgun and yesterday I wanted to remove the fixed pistolgrip stock for inspection and cleaning. The M4 manual shows no instruction for removing fixed hunting stocks. Therefore I first removed the rubber buttcap and next I tryed to unscrew the 053J stock retaining nut, but it did not come off easily, because it was glued on the 280J stock retaining pin. I noticed that the 280J stock retaining pin is treaded and it rotated with the 053J stock retaining nut when I tryed to unscrew the nut off. I know now that I had to unscrew all the stock from the receiver like the pistolgrip, but yesterday I did not. So to my question: Have I damaged, rotated or somehow altered the 049J recoil spring tube which is attached at the rear receiver by unscrewing the stock retaining nut which also rotated the stock retaining pin that is screwed in the recoil spring tube? The treads on the stock retaining pin are inside the recoil spring tube, and when I tryed to unscrew, would it basically unscrew itself out of the recoil spring tube, or have I damaged anything? Besides, the gluing between the stock retaining nut and pin loosened very quickly after about one quarter revolution with a "tikk" sound insinde the stock.
