I've dealt with OP in the past and will vouch for their credibility and ease of doing business with.

The new scalar works mount and t2 would likely make for a worse cheek weld (smashing your face) on the c stock mid setting. It allegedly allows lower 1/3 cw with irons. Like I said before, this and the IWC light mount are what got me back into the m4 game. It's now fully viable with good form factor and durability and reliability of necessary accessories. Further, I got the LPA ghost ring that has no dots. It's a ring only. No wings or dots. Lollypop with a tunnel. Why? Because my eyes are trained to line up dots from decades of shooting pistols. The benefits m4 sights are not aimed in this way. So I'll stick with what most mirrors the m4 5.56 carbine: ghost ring and fsp. Just another little detail.

I'm likely going to use the OEM PG stock. The C-stock would just add moving parts, not save size or weight, considering the plane of the sights/optic, etc. The field stock, I personally just am not a fan of.

I've owned several Benelli's over the years, and I sold them randomly as they didn't TRULY offer me what I was after. I wanted to be able to use an electronic sight on them (RDS), and I wanted to be able to do so naturally. Mounting the sight on the rail made the cheek-weld into a chin-weld. It was pretty much a non-starter except as a bungled "add on". Not a sleek, effective, muscle-memory inducing thing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The second and more important thing I demand on ALL my firearms, is a LIGHT. The light needs to be permanently attached (not non-removable, but rather, not necessary to remove...ever), and to not impede either the cleaning, or the function, of the firearm in any way. Mag-tube light mounts were a no-go obviously. Barrel mount light mounts are a terrible idea on any weapon. Much less the thin-walled barrel of an M4. Then AVA tactical came out with their first generation mounts, and I was ecstatic. Early adopter. Well, it touched the barrel, and I was not a fan. This has since been remedied in the Gen 2 mounts, and while I love AVA tactical, I have gone with the IWC mount. I always maintained that the barrel hanger was the end-all, be-all of a place to mount a WML on this shotgun, and IWC nailed it. AVA is a great company and makes a great product, that's just my personal choice. What I ended up with. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Until the latest AVA and IWC offerings, the Benelli M4 always struck me as a "super fun toy". I don't take it serious for home defense unless I can use it at night. So here I am, buying another Benelli M4, and outfitting it the way I always wanted to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Carriercomp Ti tube -Benelli METAL trigger group (sadly, not offered on OEM guns anymore, I had to buy mine from Numrich -Benelli USMC issue barrel (fixed MOD choke, current production with latest barrel extension) -IWC Scout mount and 300 lumen Mini-scout -HSP sling -Scalarworks T2 mount and T2 (when released) This will give me a weapon that is LIGHTER than an OEM out of the box Benelli M4, yet has a weapon-light AND a combat proven optic, allows use of irons if the RDS goes down, and is not cludgy (Surefire fore-end...) or non-ergonomic. I have decided to leave the bolt-handle, and shell-stop release as OEM. Why? Because Benelli did a TON of testing regarding those components, and we know for a fact how the gun runs with the OEM gear. I'm not going to go mucking with it unless/until Kip drops the Ti/A2 handles again, if he does, and only those because they are almost identical in weight to OEM...but even those are more likely to be removed accidentally from the BCG than the OEM bolt-charging handle... Anyway, here is where my project stacks up so far... More on the way. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SERIOUSLY!? There is no way to space these paragraphs!?

I had one of the fabled CC Black Ti handles and included it with a build I sold a while back because the guy INSISTED and paid dearly for that insisting. That said, I inquired about them, and here is what I was told: " Bolt knobs...well, have to still wait and see on those! " as of Jan 9, 2017, that is the status. Honestly? The factory bolt handle and factory bolt-release have come back in vogue with me for various reasons, not that I wouldn't snag another CC handle simply because they are awesome, but I am not crying over not having one because "my shotgun can't be completed without it" either. No, my posts were not directed at you. I'm not THAT passive aggressive. I try to quote people if I'm going to say something to or about them, although sometimes I quote one person, and talk to another, lol!

OpHow much money does CC generate from m4 parts sales? How much does it take for 2 people to pay bills and buy food? How long has carrier comp been in business? Raise your hand if you think the only things coming out of his shop are for the benelli, or even civilian consumption? Do you remember when he bought a digitally controlled device to properly air harden his a2 combination Ti bolt handles? How many did he sell? 1, 200? Do you all have a clue what that animal cost him? Do you think he just mothballed it afterwards? There are a ton of blanks in this puzzle that a bit of digging and critical thinking will uncover. Also of note...their location. There are just too many things here that fly in the face of what most everyone is presuming about this company. Our troops. First. Last. Always. Thanks for your service, Kip. *kip as on occasion made his and his wife's medical history and issue public. They are both, however, doing well. Contact them for more info. What MIGHT a marine who served actively for 22 years be doing with a machine shop complete with his own air hardening/tempering digitally controlled ovens, lathes, and the ability to machine Ti to 1/10,000th of an inch be doing that has kept him in business since 2008 selling maybe 2/3 of the raw product he allots for tubes because he's so ocd that he has multiple wind chimes made out of the rejects that maybe got a few thousand off? His benelli parts manufacture is a hobby, passion, and generosity to this community, looking at the figures.

Volume has never been something Kip ever aspired to. He and his wife are well, though.

You guys must not have had the joy of benellis red threadlocker. -

The last one I did discolored the ano. Had to get it HOT to get the thing out, and then it took a strap wrench. I've done @5 now, and it was BY FAR the hardest, using red loctite, or equivalent, it appeared. -

My plan, and mind you, this is messy... I have a vice. It's not the best, but it will allow plenty of torque (30-40#). I plan to get 2 2x4's and use Gorilla glue to secure them to either side of the mag-tube. THen place them in the vice. AFter it cures up, use a torch to heat the mag tube while applying torque to the receiver by hand. This should allow minimal heat to hit the receiver It will allow minimal compression or other elastic deformation of the receiver. Yes, it will deadline the mag-tube...so sad. Thoughts? (Yes, you may get a slightly larger package in the mail if it doesn't work.) -

Can one simply heat ONLY the magazine tube with a propane torch (obviously not to glowing red, but checking at regular frequent intervals until it breaks loose)? I would think this would be much better than heating the receiver directly, no? -
They are m4x.75. Not 8-40. The benelli is metric. Mesa did the same thing. Messed up a lot of guns. I'd urge you to verify this via very close inspection of an oem screw vs m4x.75 and vs 8-40... http://forum.benelliusa.com/showthread.php/31943-Benelli-m4-rail-delete-screw-hole-plug-options Benelli USA tech support has never impressed me with anything, from their spelling, to their erroneous information I've gotten numerous times from them. Just my experience, and I didn't talk to their lead guy, but I'm inclined to trust history, and 8-40 didn't work out so hot a few years ago. I doubt they changed the threads. I trust that you have both the ability and desire to confirm that m4x.75 or 8-40 is correct, and thank you for being diligent. Not a cheap mistake regarding a receiver.

Another question somewhat related. I have developed an appreciation for your attention to detail as a company, but it still pays to ask. Are the screws that interface with the receiver hitting as much thread-surface as the OEM screws? benelli uses an odd screw for this, or so MESA said when everyone stripped their receivers out... So my question is, what torque spec is recommended? Do you recommend the re-use of the Benelli lock-washers? Have you measured threads to insure proper interface?

New Sights and safety M4 and something unexpected...
Unobtanium replied to les_garten's topic in Benelli
I presume this rear sight just installs the same way as Meprolites, etc. being as it's also made by LPA, or did it require a custom pitch thread/replacement screw/other weirdness? -
Thanks! I also placed a call to Benelli USA. SBS m4s enter the country with a 19.xx" barrel. The sight is welded aft of normal for said barrel...8n the location you see it on with the 14" barrel. So they enter the country looking a tad awkward. This is due to legislation passed in 1968 regarding importing and sporting purposes. Once the shotguns are logged in here in America, the barrels are cut down. In Europe, the m4 Entry comes with the Mobil choke system. In America, they are fixed straight wall barrels which have been cut down. Very nicely, based on pictures. So far the barrels for the m4 in current production: 18.5" with Mobil choke system 18.5" with a fixed modified constriction 14" formed from a cut down 19.xx" barrel 14" manufactured as a 14" and equipped with Mobil choke system (EU and other countries only)
