I have Kick-EEZ pads on both my Sport ll's, and I don't mind the recoil at all. Been using these for a few years now, and don't bother with my O/U's much at all anymore. :-) They'll never be as light recoiling as a gas gun, but the benefits of the inertia system far outweigh the slight added recoil. (at least in my book)

You might want to add in the barrel length and where you're located.

Simply make one out of a wooden dowel.

Hunting guns: Carried a lot.. shot little (light) Sporting guns: Shot a lot.. carried little (heavy)

And then try "sporting clays" if you really want to have some fun!

FYI..it doesn't take much to upset trap shooters!

Be very careful here, as the 30" package is VERY long! (like a 34" o/u) My 28" is actually much longer than my 30" o/u, so give them both a feel before you make your decision.

I wouldn't exactly say they're the softest kicking guns on the market, but they're no worse than an O/U. I use the Benelli Sport ll exclusively for the clay sports, and don't find them to be offensive at all. I have the same gun in both 12 & 20 ga. and love them. Plus, they're a breeze to clean!

However, I sometimes carry a Lt. Mod. choke for those rare occasions where IC might not be the best choice. I think perhaps our shots aren't as long here in NH as compared to the wide open spaces of Kansas. :-)
