  1. Hey All,

In relation to the Benelli M4 Urbino Stock w/riser I was wondering if the lowest riser position is flush against the comb of the stock. All the pics I see of the riser show it's top surface maybe 3/8" or so above the comb but I wasn't sure if it went lower?

In either case is there any change of normal head positioning needed when using the ghost ring sights with the riser in it's lowest position?

If there is a change needed I know the riser railed stock can be used with the riser removed. If this is done is there any interference in normal cheek weld by the areas in the stock that are cut out/railed to accept the riser?

    Thanks,

  2. Just keeping heating it until you see smoke coming out the end of the tube. It took probably 20 minutes (the low setting on my heat gun, i don't rmember the temp) for me to see that. Twist a bit, heat some more, keep twisting and it will eventually break free

+1 on that IIRC it took a good 15-20 min before I got it to twist a little after that it was a heat for a while/get a little twist process until it finally gave up. Don't be afraid of the heat, you're not going to hurt anything...I think I was being extra careful but if I was doing one again I'd just heat the heck out of it!

  3. Received my handle today too along with the P-rail and follower everything is beautiful ...Thanks Kip!!! Does anyone have a good trick for getting the plastic hi-vis insert out of the original Benelli follower for re-installation in the CC follower? I don't want to damage it getting it out

Nevermind.... I got it out.... :)

    Man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.... :)

Yeah I'm finally getting around to taking off the Sidearmor rail system and probably the Surefire forend too if I can devise a suitable light mounting option using the FFT forend. I don't think Im really sold on the BLAM 4so I'll see what I can come up with and post pics of course!!

  7. Thanks for your reply Benelliwerkes! I'm wanting to go "back to basics" with my M4 with a very lightweight setup that would still include a tactical light. I ordered the FFT factory style forend so I can lose my Surefire M80 and get the better ergonomics and weight savings of factory grips while remaining 922r compliant. The optimal light mounting solution remains the eternal sticking point with this weapon but you've definitely given me some ideas to chew on.

    Thanks Again,

  8. That looks great Benelliwerkes! I really like the setup with the Gear Sector offset rail. How are the ergonomics with that setup? It looks like less obstruction for your hand with that arrangement. Do you have a pic with that one installed on the M4?

  9. Nicely done Stockplayer! Hey Roddy, I recalled an old thread (2006) that showed what you are asking about and the forum member d had done some work to shape a recess in the stock for the short rail section to fit....unfortunately the pics in the thread have since been deleted but maybe you could PM him and get the pics...Anyway, here's the thread:

it sure would be nice if FFT put out one of their factory style handguards with a rail section as an option

  10. Hey Big Hat!!!

Thanks for the report! That's great you already have one. The majority of feedback that I'm reading about them is pretty positive. I also believe that the tube effect matters "a bit" I'd love to hear your thoughts after you get it to the range! I like to seeing more quality sights hit the market. I think it keeps all the companies on their toes.

Here's link to the anti reflection device if anyone is interested:

  11. Nice write up on Arf.com Thanks Truckcop!!! Benelliwerkes Thanks for your thoughts and all the pics!! One of the first things I noticed when I was checking these out is that Trijicon didn't have a magnifier for it.... Perhaps later....I just like to keep up to date on the latest and greatest cool sights. (I was thinking of it as a 5.56 AR sight) My next optic purchase is going to be an Elcan Specter DR 1-4x for my LWRC REPR. I recently got to handle one thanks to the generosity of a fellow forum member and was impressed
