  1. I don't know if I agree with that totally. It's not necessarily about the money. While my NFA stuff did cost a lot of money (and they aren't as easy to replace, just due to availability), it's all insured on a separate policy. My concern is someone using my M-16 or MAC-10 (etc) to shoot a bunch of other people. That's why they are all in a safe, and my HD .45 is in a separate gun vault (if it's not on my person) that I can access quickly and still leave the other guns secure. Sure, if someone really wants your stuff, they may still figure out a way to get at it (even with a safe/alarm/dog/and armed owner . You can't deter everyone, the best you can do is make them think twice about trying. But if I can keep them from killing anyone else (either by locking my guns up or stopping an intruder) then I figure I need to try.
  2. For home defense I grab my Ruger P90DC .45ACP for a number of reasons. The M2 is in the safe and takes longer to grab (and I’d need some light to work the combination). It's also a NFA weapon, so I don't want it held for evidence pending a trial (sure the .45 may be held also, but it's alot easier to get another compared to the class 3 stuff!). The .45 is in a quick access vault on my night stand, or sitting out on my night stand (when I'm sleeping), or it's on my person (it's also my concealed carry gun), is a decock only (no safety to worry about), is double action with one in the chamber (so I don't have to cock/load it), holds more than my M2 and re-loads faster (3 more loaded mags readily available) and has laser grips. IF my pitt wakes me up and someone's in the house, all I have to do is grab it, put the red dot on the target and squeeze the trigger. No guessing, no messing around with making sure a safety is off or if it's cocked/loaded. ‘Course it doesn’t have the “Oh S*!t” effect of the shotgun, but I don’t plan on conversing with whoever is in my house either . It doesn't have a light mounted, like my M2 (and my M-16) but I keep a LumaMax LX2 right next to it, and a light isn’t practical for a concealed gun (and my place is bright enough that it's not needed to see an intruder at night). Lastly, if for some reason I ended up dead, all my NFA stuff would still be locked in the safe (since I didn’t have to open it for defense) so any intruder would have a harder time getting at the class 3 stuff (and I hate the thought of some criminal using my machineguns to kill others) But I suspect it all comes down to what works for each individuals situation.
  3. I have a similar item from YHM on my M-16 (for my SureFire X300) mounted on a 4-railed gas block, and it works great. It's a 1:00 position mount with a 45° rail. Moved the light up so it doesn't interfere with my grip on the forearm. Worth looking into it if you need to move the light up.
  4. Great prices on the SureFire stuff! I've got pics in my albums here (the M2 album) of the mount I used for my M2 entry and the X300. With the entry gun I was limited on space, and I wanted the forearm clear, so the light is off to the side, but centered with the bbl and tube. Doesn't light up the sights at all, and no bbl shadow.
  5. A) They don't make a ComforTech™ pistol grip stock. You can either have the pistol grip OR the ComforTech™. B) If you want a ComforTech™, I have a new one that I'm selling on eBay right now (auction ending soon, as in today!) with 2 new gel pads: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Benelli-M2-ComforTech-stock-w-2-RH-gel-pads-/150474477314?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 C) I don't know about tubes (mine's an entry gun) but the Nordic Components bbl clamp is a great quality piece (I use it to mount a X300 weapons light) so I would think their tube is quality also, but I'm sure others would be able to make more qualified suggestions. D) I don't think they make an 18" riffled bbl (but I'm not 100%) but they do make longer bbls for the M2 that are riffled, so.... I also have some Fiocchi exploding rounds that need a rifled bbl, so I can't use them...
  6. E-mail it to someone that can post it (but not me, I can't ever get it to work. That's why all my pics are on myspace
  7. Why go 37mm when you can go 40mm rail mount? Asside from the cost, tax stamp, and waiting? But you're already used to that I had a 37mm, got rid of it for cheap (no real good rounds for it), but I've been thinking 40mm allot lately! But that's just me... Might want to invest in a Practical Solutions .22 cal conversion for you MAC first. At 1200 rounds per moinute, tha .45 ACP gets real expensive

My bad, I didn't know you actually knew someone that had one. Guess your right, they all suck . jk I love blanket statements... That's hilarious though! I actually bought my SRT 'cus I dated a girl that had (still has) one (when they were new, in '03. '05 was the last year) and it's great. I drove it all the time and fell in love with it (and I wasn't even considering one before). Still no problems with either car, and even at 105 lbs, she never had any issue with torque steer. But decide from your own experience, and if you like the Si, that's great. There's people here that have had issues with their Benelli cycling. Guess they all suck too. Mine runs like a champ and eats everything I put through it.

I take it you've owned a few dozen and had lots of problems? I've had mine for 6 years (got it in '04) and I haven't had any problems. $19K out the door, gets over 30mpg highway, runs 13s right out of the box, and fits my 6'4" 235 lbs butt very comfortably But to each his own. Not to hijack this thread (any more than it already is I'm not a big fan of all the rails and accessories on some guns, but I sure wish I could get one of those collapsible stock for my M2!

Bone stock the SRT ran high 13s spinning the tires like crazy! I've got slicks for it, but haven't run it with them (no wheels for them) or the Stage 2. I haven't been back to the track since I moved to crapville for my job. Plus, at the time the R/T was down for the new motor build and I couldn't afford to blow up my daily driver Now I'm just always busy (life gets in the way) and I started buying machine guns (cash gets in the way). It's a quick car, but the truck is just plain brutal!

With the stock 360 and a SQ vortech it ran 12.8 at 110 mph on slicks (Phoenix in Jul). Haven't run it since I built the forged 408, went with the T trim vortech, 4.56 gears, long tubes, alcohol injection, 58mm TB, DFI etc..... It's still very streetable, but if you punch it while cruising at 40mph it'll be sideways on the highway (learned that the hard way, came close to kissing a few guard rails. D'oh!). At some point I'll make the long drive back to the track, but the gas mileage (or lack of) worries me Plus I’ll need a cage or I’ll only get one run ):

I have a pic of my Benelli M2 entry (14"). It's a 5+1 in this set up with 2 3/4" shells (that's with Federal LE 9 pellet 00 buck. With S&B 2 3/4" 12 pellet 00 buck, I can only get 4 in the tube, but they are just a hair longer than the Federal) Just go to the MySpace link below, the My Photos album, and pg 2. I'd link it, but for some reason that never works when I try that (and certainly it can't be operator error? http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewAlbums&friendID=26055548
  14. That's how it's supposed to be. But I see this regime pushing policies whether the majority of people support it or not. Look at what polls show about the majority on health care and this AZ law. I still don't get how the Gov can be so against a law that is just a kinder, gentler version of their fed law (huh??). I think other states will soon follow AZ on this matter. People are fed up, and pushing for this, but the Gov doesn't want to listen. Damn, here I go again d'oh!
  15. AZ does have some of the best gun laws, and now AZ has some of the best immigration laws. If we didn't have vehicle emissions (in some parts) this place would be perfect If Cali doesn't like it, they can go to you know where. As for congress giving the standing ovation, shame on them!!! Try walking through Mexico (tourist areas not withstanding) without papers (or looking over your shoulder)...Not gonna’ get started And I promised myself I wouldn't rant.
  16. Anyone ever heard of/delt with one of these slings? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110510482534&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT ? I know the auction has ended, but I've tried googling them (Cobra Defense Accessories LTD) and can't find anything. This one has 1 1/4"end clips (which are too big), but the label shows that 1" clips are available (which is correct for my M2). Just searching for good shotshell sling and looking at options. Thanks.
  17. Have you actually heard that silencer on a 12 gauge? Real silencers aren't like the movies!! I've got a few, and they'll allow you to shoot without hearing protection, but there's no "whisper" quiet . I've fired my Walther P22 silenced (from inside my house, shhhh), and still got funny looks from my neighbor when I walked outside. Been using subsonics also. It might be very quiet, but I'd try to get a listen first, just so you know what you're getting for your money. That's just me
  18. D'oh! Sorry, what the heck do I know about the Novas? Ones a car and one will destroy the planet My only Benelli I've ever had is my M2, guess I just learned something.
  19. FYI, they have M2 and M4 entry guns also (but cost a lot more), but since you said you wanted the Nova.... Ahhh class 3, the waiting begins
  20. Just do it, you got plenty of time to wait for the Form 4 http://www.onlythebestfirearms.com/novaentry.html
  21. Not to hijack, I've used the bird bombs from ammunitiontogo and they are pretty cool. VERY load compared to others I've used. Launch like a grenade, low power (wouldn't cycle my M2) but still pretty good distance. I have some Fiocchi impact ones also, but they need a rifled bbl so tumble out of the M2 and aren't reliable from a smooth bore.
  22. I have a Benchmade infidel (OTF) and a Presidio, and love them both. Nice and sturdy and quality made (and prices are comming down). I remember they were illegal in NY when I was growing up (a long time ago). Didn't know they were legal in AZ 'till I seen them in my local gun shop about a year ago. Should have known, AZ allows almost everything.
  23. People tend to miss the point of full autos. You don't always have to spray ammo!!! They can be fired in semi-auto with the flip of a selector. We don't have to spray at 1200 rpm, but we have that option. Depends on the number of zombies in a given area. And the amount of fun we want to have any other time (it's hard not to giggle like an insane child when you're going full auto with a bullet hose like the MACs )
  24. I agree! While having all one caliber makes it cheaper to stockpile, if there's a shortage of some ammo, you need to be able to use what's still available. At least that's my take
  25. I'm with skeeter, my MAC M-10 in .45 (30 rd mags and 1200 rpm) and my sterling MK-4 in 9mm (the best 34 rd mags ever designed, and 600 rpm). 'course the MAC gets pretty long with the old sionics silencer (even with the stock collapsed), and the sterling is a bit long for conceled with the stock folded, so my conceled rig is a Ruger P90DC in .45 with two extra mags hanging. The other stuff is for zombies and revolutions
