  1. Nice. Look for such FTF's to become "pandemic" under The Obamamessiah;).
  2. That is pretty impressive for the yardage. If you test any of the other constrictions I would be very interested in hearing the comparison in patterns.
  3. Did I miss what choke you are using? I just picked up a bunch of 000 and have been wanting to test pattern it. Thinking about using some old archery targets....
  4. Good choice. I prefer the 20's too, & just keep a 12 behind the door to hold down the carpet. Plenty of versatility for almost any need.
  5. Daddy, I have not yet. Been busy and the slush fund has been depleted by some recent (excessive) activity. You should give George a call. He is like talking to Elmer Keith (and damn near as old and experienced) and is part of the experience frankly if you are considering his stuff. The only negatives I have ever read were from first time installations (unfamiliarity with the product design). Everyone raves about the security, weight and clean, classic lines that really show off the gun.
  6. Bob, I'd be happy to send you a link. Had to look around but have found several postings on the web and bookmarked them.
  7. I just have a preference for lighter, faster loadings in pretty much all my guns. Flatter tragectories and slightly shorter leads. Just a preference I developed over time and lot's of spent ammo.
  8. Damn, they are really rushing these more efficient trucks to market fast! Change you can see!
  9. Looks like one of the new high mpg, low emission pick ups from Obama & Government Motors coming soon to a political donor's car dealership soon... Can't wait!
  10. Funny, from the pron you posted I thought you were bigger:D. I have been a hardcore GT & sports car nut since about age 7. I go to Laguna Seca & Sears Point every year for the Rolex series, The Monterey Historics & the ALMS when I can make it. Soooo much eye candy (of many types). The Historics are the best if you are into the really high end stuff. My buddy has a 996 & we park in the Porsche corral. Tons of fun, great food, beer and hundreds of millions in the finest toys on the planet. The Z06 is a ton of fun to drive and very easy to go fast in. Have not driven any of the newer offerings from Maranello, but the Corvette & the Porsche's get the nod for everday reliability & driveability. I have also been lucky enough to plant my butt in a Carrera GT (but not drive it). A magic car. I love the GT40's but the ergonomics are lousy. Dan Gurney could not even fit in a stock car & that is how the Gurney bubble came about in those cars. Awesome story behind the car too. I'm a little envious of the toys you are considering:rolleyes:.
  11. Hate to break it to you bro, but I don't think you would be very comfortable in the Viper. At 6' and about 215 I found them very uncomfortable. I also also had a TA in college (5.0L & 5sp) and it was a complete piece of crap. I will never own another Government Motors product in my life. I am sure things will only get worse now that The Obamamessiah has virtually given the automakers to the UAW. For the money I would take a used 911 anyday. No comparison quality wise and is a much, much better road car. Also the winningest race car in history.
  12. What is the big deal with these stocks? I am obviously not into the tactical shotguns, but can not imagine paying some of the prices for the accessories for them. I could see buying an executive turkish walnut stock from the custom shop (for slightly less money) given my interest, so I am not saying you guys are wasting your money...just not sure what the deal is with the outrageous pricing on the tactical shotgun stuff. What do you do with your shotgun just out of curiousity Unob? Plinking, clay birds, hunting? The old Springfield pump behind the front door is starting to feel inadequate whenever I cruise the Benelli site. Maybe I need to play with one of these guns to see what the big deal is:confused:. Then again, maybe I shouldn't...
  13. Excellent choice. You can fix scratches in wood, but the plastic guns are stuck with the wear & tear. Long term, I think you will be really happy with this gun. Had I not got a screaming deal on the gun I bought, it is what I most likely would have wound up with. Great combination of features.
  14. I thought long & hard about this one: http://www.benelliusa.com/performance_shop/benelli_performance_shop_supersport.php and this one: http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli_supersport_and_sport_2.php But I prefer wood. They also make it in the carbon fiber finished synthetic stock. Both would be top choices if you have the scratch for them.
  15. They are about as cheap as anyone. Most sporting goods houses carry them too. Good luck finding powder.
  16. Turns out the damn thing fell out when I was not looking:D. All is now right in capacity heaven. Still wondering how the plug ("it looks like an broken antenna, honey") wound up on the front walk.
  17. I would second the Gunbroker suggestion. I picked up a Millenium Edition Legacy at a great price (NIB) and there was a good selection of all types of guns in that general class to browse. My suggestion is find a local gunshop that will act as your transfer agent before you start seriously shopping. You will be able to find what you are looking for (or list your guns for sale) and not get hosed in the process. Hopefully you don't live in CA, as many will not do business with you because of it. Too bad that Ruger is not a Smith L-comp, or I would be more than happy to take it off your hands:). Good luck & be a bit patient to find exactly the gun and terms that work best for you.
  18. Yeah, it looks pretty straight forward. Kinda makes me miss the old wooden dowel...
  19. Did you use any of the felt wads in the shot cup USA? I am getting ready to place an order and was going to add the 1/8 inch felt wads to it for the 3/4 oz loads. Thanks.
  20. I can find no instructions on removing the plug from my new Legacy. I saw a post for the 12 ga, but have had no luck figuring it out yet. Anyone know how to do this?
  21. Vinci, I don't know how else to put it. This **** is unreadable. More time spent in frosh English, less on the forum.
  22. If I was there I would spank you (and not like Unobtanium) for your crappy posts. We all get get it here Vinci, you are enthusiasitic & love your shotgunning & all that goes with it. So do we. Don't get bent when you get criticism on the net. It's gonna happen. Listen to what makes sense, even if you are being attacked you can often learn something from it (verbally or otherwise). Damn near everything posted here is tounge & cheek or genuinely intended to help. Compared to most forums, the rough edges here are pretty few. Even criticism has a rounded edge from most of the posters given the demographics of who posts here. Not wanting to get all old & maudlin, but some of us had been shooting for many years before the 14th birthday, maybe just chill out a little & soak up what you can. As far as familiarity with guns, sure a 14 year old could already be an expert if he had the right exposure. Most likely he would be doing a lot more listening than talking though. Peas out Vinci. Don't sweat the small shot.
  23. :DGet the Monte. No homo.
