  1. I think it has more to do with the small cycle time of these short barreled semi-autos, especially with the .45 ACP. I haven't experienced one other issue and I suspect that this one will resolve itself after a break-in. I'm optimistic.
  2. Missed this part. I had trouble when I tried to slingshot as well. The round wanted to hang up and not chamber. Upon reading the manual (yeah go figger right?) I noticed where SA wants you to use the slide release. When I did that, no issue with chambering any rounds. I have read folks having issues with slingshotting until the gun is fully broken in. Time will tell. On another note, I called about my stamp and was told that I went pending June 4th. She said they were running right at 6 months which means December. *sigh* Hopefully I'll have it for Christmas.
  3. And you shouldn't unless you want a mess on your hands. The shotgun was designed for the pistons to run dry and to be "self cleaning". Not to say you shouldn't inspect and do routing maint. but lube in there is a bad idea. To each there own.......but just like religion, don't try and force it down anyones throat is what I always say.
  4. Ok, I just put 50 rounds of MagTech 230gr RN FMJ without one single hiccup. In fact, it shot so good that I'm kinda freaking out a little. I wish I had more time and ammo today because I have a feeling that this pistol is an absolute winner. I was only shooting some reactive steel but it shot right where I pointed it.....every time. I was shooting from a distance of 50 feet. I thought the recoil was very manageable and it shot superbly. The only thing I would wish for is a small pinky extension but if it never happened, I would be fine. I suspect Pearce is working on one as I type this anyway so it'll be moot. Saying I'm stoked is putting it mildly.
  5. Just an FY!, the stock bolt handle will still "rotate" while installed into the bolt. It doesn't "spin" like the GG&G but does rotate on the ball detent inside the bolt. The stock handle, as well as the Carrier Comp handle. are held much more securely in the bolt because of the larger surface area that the detent has contact with. There have been reports of the "spinner" type handles flying out of the bolt when firing the weapon.
  6. lol! I wondered when someone was going to point that out.
  7. Hard to say without a pic of both units side by side. I'd be hard pressed to think Benelli is using Geissele hammers in their builds. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
  8. Can you post a picture of the hammer?
  9. It is, in fact, designed to be that way.
  10. ROTFLMAO!!!
  11. Will do. That's actually the first report I've heard of anything negative towards the pistol. I did notice when I disassembled it for cleaning that the feed ramp on the barrel is highly polished from the factory. Maybe there were feed issues and they took steps to fix them? I hope to try it out today with some factory rounds as well as some of my hand loads. I'll definitely let you know. I did the personal stamp. I'm not gonna be doing a lot of NFA stuff so the trust seemed like overkill for my situation. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if it hadn't taken over a year just get it from Impact to my class III dealer.
  12. According to NFA Tracker, I have a 94% chance of getting it in the month of September and 60% of all applicants should have their stamp by now. lol! At least I got this to play with today. Haven't shot it yet but I'm pretty excited about it. Hoping to make it my new CC. We'll see how it checks out.
  13. Thanks, good to know. Will do that Tuesday morning.
  14. Today marks the beginning of the 5 month waiting on the Feds. *sigh*
  15. Technically, I have two but am only in possession of one of them. The other one, an M4 11722 Entry model, is still at my class III dealer waiting on the Fed paperwork to come back. Today begins month 5 since the Feds cashed my $200 check.
  16. +1 True that! Nice benefit too is that the Geissele hammer fits nicer on the pin. No slop.
  17. FY!, Midway shows that you can backorder them and that the "expected in stock date" is 09/10/12. The operative point being that you can backorder them from Midway........regardless of when they actually become available. I'd hold out and get it from Kip.
  18. Because I like the OEM C-stock. I also wasn't keen on how Mesa Tactical didn't stay true to the original design intent of the M4. They ended up using a screw mechanism that is accessed from inside the stock rather than using a "captured" method like all the OEM stocks. There have been several instances where the stock has loosened up while shooting. To complicate matters, some folks ended up using Loctite to secure the screw and have then had problems removing the stock. Personally, I would buy the standard (non-pistol grip) OEM stock before an Urbino. The LOP is a non issue for me as well and I am only 5'9".
  19. I don't run optics on my M4 either and that cheek riser has always looked fugly to me. I don't run an Urbino, and wouldn't, but agree 100% on the aesthetics.
  20. .....lol!.....
  21. I never used any loctite when I installed my new CC ti tube. Just cleaned out the receiver threads and screwed the new tube in hand tight. Hasn't moved since, even after a bunch of heavy buckshot.
  22. I'll take that as a compliment..........especially from the guy who came into this thread to toot his own horn.
  23. You forgot full of yourself. There, now it's complete.
