When I had my M4 the ejected hulls did a nice job of removing some of the paint on the receiver. My M2 is doing the same on the bottom edge is this the norm?

Not being picky just curious.

In that botton picture is there supposed to be a plug in that hole mid way in the port?

No, that is a place for the roll-pin that holds the bolt-release/shell-stop in place to come out when those of us who mod our Benelli's choose to do so :p

Come on now I got other toys for HD too it's ok if my M2 stays factory for a few weeks.:)

Besides I have an eye for detail and in that picture it looks like there is a cap/plug in the hole.

There can't be anything in that roll pin hole at that height. It's basically an access hole for the roll pin. The bolt carrier retracts through the channel.

My receiver looks just like Duggans. At one time I put Alumahyde on it. It worked ok.

I don't worry about it anymore.

When I start my painting project, I figure it'll get covered again.

I actually like the worn in look and the "character marks".

Aluminum doesn't rust, so the finish is mostly cosmetic anyways ...

Maybe someday my gun will look like Mr. USMC's here:

I used to be all OCD about my guns but I finally got it through my head that use will cause wear. I don't mind marks from cases/hulls being ejected just as long as it isn't cheap paint jobs letting it happen.
