barometric
Hi 1) Axel Bush It looks like the head of a rivet- pushing on it with the firing pin like the manual says doesnt do much as it looks like the head is bigger than the hole it needs to go through. Is this to keep us from removing the trigger group? 2) I also cant see how to remove the locking head pin; if you have any pointers.

barometric
read owners manual well gee- what do you think i'm going by? Is this the way the axel bush looks on yours? I pushed on it with the firing pin and it doesnt seem to move. also, the manual SAYS to push with the firing pin (which I hope is still true now)- but the photo shows the bolt handle being used.) so hows that for the manual? I dont want to break anything. it just looks to me like its to big to push in through that hole. or is it? As much as the manual says to use the firing pin I would do no such thing myself, now that you have that pin out I would take it to a hardware store and pick out a pin punch that is very close to the same diameter and use that when disassembling your gun. They're stiff when new. thanks SD- thats the kind of answer I was looking for. agm- the manual SAYS to use the firing pin- but the associated photo for that shows using the bolt handle. agm65ccip
agm- the manual SAYS to use the firing pin- but the associated photo for that shows using the bolt handle. I understand that completely, and AR manuals will tell you to use a bullet to push out takedown pins... If you want to follow the manual EXACTLY that is your prerogative, nothing wrong with it. But unless you are riding into combat with this M4 having a proper tool for removing pins rather than using a critical part designed to punch primers probably is not going to slow you down any. I was just throwing out alternatives.
StrangerDanger
I use the bolt handle to get mine started. I use it to remove the ARGO plugs too. The firing pin is tough. As long as you're not prying with it or driving it with a three pound sledge, it would be fine to use. If it breaks, I'm sure Benelli will replace it in 6 to 8 weeks. tactical1
I've got some wooden 'handle' "Q" tips I use to get into the nether parts of my stuff - I just break one in half and use it as a dowel to drive out the pin - I understand what the manual says and that's fine if one has no alternatives - I would prefer not to use a brass/steel drift as the wooden one is just fine - no marring of the pin, works just fine and the price is very good. Enjoy
