jaegerbataillon511
I was hiding my Benelli M4 with the collapsible stock shortened in a soft gun case on my bed with a blanket over, when I expected visitors in my apartment. After that I forgot my gun under the blanket and lay my 185 pound body over it. Should the M4 be checked for any damages?
HMLA-167 Warrior
Unless you knocked off the front sight or something obvious (and I highly doubt you did anything really)... I would tend to say the shotgun did more damage to your back than you did to it.
Sukhoi_fan
If that's all it took to damage a M4 I'd be VERY disappointed...
jaegerbataillon511
The thick mattress and soft gun case would have cushioned it somehow, but it`s the unseen stress applied to it which could have caused microscopic bending here and there what annoys me. Or is it just a OCD?
HMLA-167 Warrior
You are probably correct in the bending. I would probably get rid of it if I were you and definitely wouldn't trust it ever in the future. Just so happens that I am looking for a damaged M4 myself to hang on a wall as a conversation piece and would gladly take your unsafe to fire M4 off of your hands for a reasonable price. StrangerDanger
Oh, you were serious? No, you couldn't have hurt it even if you tried. About the only thing even remotely possible to damage would be the front sight or maybe the bolt handle if you were jumped up and down on it.
