Danny Shirley
I just purchased a Benelli Automatic, and I'm finding it really difficult to load the magazine. Is this common in all Benelli Automatics? If so, is there anything to do to resolve this problem?
jimbo45
Just want to be clear what you mean. Is sliding the shells into the mag tube difficult or does the carrier bite you or is it something else?
Danny Shirley
Very difficult to slide the shells into the mag tube. Requires an unreasonable amount of force.
StrangerDanger
Removing the latch and polishing the tip of the latch can help. That’s about as far as I would go with it. Removing metal can be dangerous and make the latch not function correctly. It can cause the shell to release at the wrong time and cause issues. bambihunter
For our 20 gauge Montefeltro, it required more effort than any of my 12 gauge Benelli's. I loaded the shells for a while for my wife. After ~75-125 rounds down and up the tube, it let up. This was a nearly new looking HK import model from early 90's. Could have been sticky from it not being used, but removing the spring and follower and scrubbing it, and putting dry lube (never use wet in mag tube) nothing changed. Only actual use freed it up. We used live fire, but loading a snap cap repeatedly while sitting and watching TV might work too.
